Re: [ROM][09-01-13][Flinny] Andromadus Test builds - CM10[132]

Is there anything specific you've seen that needs merging? Ill take a look later but mainly seems to just be translations. If so next build will be after I've finished testing the new display stuff.

@edit:
NEVERMIND ! i Forgot that i put sms/mms from 4.2.1. : ( Sorry for bothering.
btw. ROm is a lot faster than any ics and gb. : ) Keep it up !

My experiences after a brief usage (Build 133)

After over-the-weekend use this is the easily the best rom I've used on my Desire Z to date. I did a full wipe with superwipe and didn't supercharge the rom after flashing. Only thing I wanted to test out was the entropy seeder and I'm currently using it. I don't really know if it does any good at this point though, but the rom is flying superfast.

I have encountered two bugs. One that i have been unable to reproduce: When turning my screen back on with the power button the touch buttons lighted up, but my screen never did. I had to pull the battery. And the other one is the graphical glitch with text corruption which doesn't really bother me much since it only appears occasionally and disappears as fast as it got there (has something to do with forcing gpu render?).

There are two features that would be nice to see implemented in the future, though, I don't know if it is a job for flinny or CM team itself.

The location of the unlock button in the lockscreen would be movable in my dreamworld as I'm not a fan of pulling right ;)
The second would be setting default background process limit.

Thank you flinny for your great efforts. The rom is exceptional.

I had bad results with the entropy seeder mod at least on these ROMs... it didn't improve any loading speeds and actually made things a bit worse for me (like phone froze a couple of times, needing reboot).

As for the text corruption, I've never had force GPU render on but still get it once in a blue blue moon... extremely rarely; haven't had an example for weeks now :)

I know I should have used a clean rom for at least a week to see if the entropy seeders gives me any positive or negative results, but I guess I can do it backwards also ;) Since it has not given me any noticeable negative results so far I will continue using it for now. As my weekend use is much lighter than my normal weekday usage it's hard to say at this point if it will give me trouble in the future.

Try pimp my rom (available on google play ) it has the entropy generator option :) works brilliantly for me :)

Is it me or it lags like hell compared to 2.3.7 ? Tried aosp 4 and cm.

***Except if there is a common secret on configuration on how to fine tune it and I dont know about it.***

Even on start without anything, just starting to setting up with gapps I want to throw it from the window.
Is it only me or just no one wants to talk about it ?

Scrolling on the menu is like a train trying to start on ice. Pressing links, system links not apps, like settings > wireless > data > back > bluetooth > back > back > about > and so on it stuck and needs a few milliseconds (or half a second) to wake up.

Not to mention apps, like facebook, viber or skype. It melts on my hand.
It lags when I try to ffs unlock it too.

And yes, fresh installs every time.
Yes, cleared cache, factory reset and superwipeV2.
Yes, I tried without gapps too at all.
And yes its not the hardware, with cm7.2 and stock it's like on fire.

Nope, your not the only one. Been explaining exact symptoms as you do and it only feels zippy on the first few minutes of usage. Do you any JB release that is, near GB usable?

You don't, by accident, have a mirror ready for that build, right? No links to be found or dead ones, at best.

Wifi sleep policy doesn't seem to ever stay on, despite my selection for it to. Any solution?

Also, going from wifi to cell service, I can't connect to cell networks for data. Call and texts work fine. I have to do a reboot to get cell data of any kind.

Damn, no. It was my go to ROM when I needed fast and mostly stable JB. I think I might have a nandroid somewhere but can't find it too. Didn't know it was taken down :/

AW: [ROM][06-02-13][Flinny] Andromadus Test builds - CM10[133]

Well, it's "old" and "deprecated" code, we're in 4.2.2 century :p
Jokes aside. I'm running the latest CM10 build which, well, lets say it works. But my current device (in repairs) runs the same code a lot eeeehm... "better" :D Ok, seriously, jokes aside now. Does anyone still have a build 4 flashable zip laying around somewhere? The last build which based on Android 4.1?

Edit: I just realised I'm in the wrong thread. Sorry for that.

It works for me if you change the allowed background processes to 1 or 2, but yes the newer builds slows down more then the older.

To bad, i love my phone

Hey Flinny!

Have there been any new changes to CM10 recently, or would you be able to merge the latest Andromadus kernel with it?
I'm really enjoying the stability of this line so far...

Thanks :D

    Andromadus - Test Builds

To start with here you will find test versions of ROMs built by me from the Andromadus github repo http://github.com/Andromadus, think of them along the same concept as nightly builds just not every night These are development ROM's, if you want to run bleeding edge development ROM's and at least know how to use adb and logcat then you might find something of interest here. If you require something that works 100% of the time all of the time then this might not be for you. That said you can always give it a try and if it doesn't work restore your previous nandroid backup!

    What IS Andromadus?
Initially it was a group of people who got together to make ICS work on the HTC Desire Z because nobody else seemed to want to support devices with physical hardware keyboards/trackpads. Whilst the idea stays the same It has grown slightly to support some other hardware and some of the work we have done is now used in many other devices. Andromadus builds of CM10 or CM10.1 are basically CM sources with a few additional tweaks or additions to support our phones.

    1. New versions will be added as and when I feel there are enough changes to warrant one, don’t ask when the next version is coming.

    2. If we decide to release a "Stable" version of these roms they will be published in another Andromadus thread.
Direct all your queries with release versions to that thread and in the same vain do not discuss these releases anywhere but here.

    3. I will do as best I can to answer questions but if you don't get an answer from me I'm sure somebody else will be along to help. Help each other and I have more time to spend fixing things!

    4. Don't ask for what's changed since the previous version, have a look at the recent submits on the Andromadus github if you want to know or wait for the mini changelogs when I post a new release.

    5. If there is something in particular to test it'll be mentioned!

    6. As always if you didn't wipe between installations then at least verify that the problem exists on a clean install before posting here. Nandroid/superwipe/install/check at the end of the day you can always restore your nandroid if the problem is reproducible on a clean installation. If you can't be bothered to try this then I really can't be bothered to try to help you :>

    7. All that said ensure you make a nandroid/backup before hand. I take no responsibility for what you do to your phone with these ROM.

    8. Whilst I can't stop you I would rather these builds were not used as a base for any ROM/MOD/ETC. The source is all available if you want to do your own builds with which you can do whatever you like.

    9. Tell us what works/what's worse/what's better but don't ***** when something breaks or isn't fixed yet, report it and move on.

    10. Sometimes people forget that we do this for fun, for ourselves, and sometimes your super important issue is way down on our personal list of things to be fixed.

If you ignore any of the above you will in turn be ignored.

Now that's all out of the way as always have fun

As usual you need to flash the ROM then GAPPS.

    Current Changelog below

    Checkout http://andromadus.flinny.org for links/files/previous changelogs

This a team/community effort, I'll not list everyone who has helped along the way here that list is in the beta thread but I will say thanks to all of them again and obviously anyone that has been missed.

    Build 113

    Kernel patched to 3.0.46
    BFQ v5 I/O sheduler added
    Lots of CM display patches
    Synced with CM
Circular battery icon with/without a % is now an option
Lots of Display patches. Overlay is automatically turned off for video now so no need to turn HW overlay off manually anymore.
Fixes video playback and panoramic preview by default until we get some new props from qcom with them fixed properly I expect.
Once this audio bug is sorted I think I'm almost happy to release a beta :)

    As for the touchscreen...

    touch.pressure.calibration = amplitude
    touch.pressure.scale = 0.01
is what the .idc for the touchpad currently.. it's possible chaning it to 0.001 makes it more responsive... Will give it a try myself
    31
Yes I know 4.2 is out... currently trying to compile it. I would like to get a beta out at 4.1.x level but we shall see how big the merge process is. I expect I will be releasing both 4.1 and 4.2 builds for a while whilst the dust settles at least.

    Latest version changelog.

    CM10 build 133

There was an issue with the backup tool in the last build that will break gapps and your account's etc when flashing this build, the solution is to re-flash gapps at the same time as the rom and you should be fine. This build should fix it so that the next build will work as it should :)

    Changes.

Synced with CM - Again not many changes upstream.
Basically everything relevant to our phones up to the 4th of February in the following has been merged
    http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:merged+branch:jellybean,n,z

Kernel updated to Andromadus Current - 3.0.62
