I used to use VillianROMs on my Hero until recently getting a DHD. Have since tried most other gingerbread sense roms and they are laggy and slow but this is great. Keep up the good work!

If you are new to roms and rooting, you might try this thread from yesterday. (only 2 posts to read)

If you haven't rooted your phone yet, then you will need to downgrade from 2.3.3 before you do.

The rom thread you are talking about hasn't had any posts for 6 months plus it was a Beta. So it seems obviously unsupported and out of date. There are many other current roms to choose from.
