Just to make sure I got it right:
1. Did you flash the pie rom with the gapps or only the pie rom?
2. How did you flash the persist.img ? Via fastboot or twrp ? Newer version of twrp does not allow me to flash to the persist partition

1) it was an attempt so I flashed rom pie + gapps, maybe it works even without gapps, I don't know.

2) for the flash I used twrp 3.3.1-0 by selecting install from the menu, it doesn't ask me where to flash, it's just done, my persist is in zip format

I'm glad to confirm that your solution worked for me, I have installed the rom + gapps, restarted the phone, made few settings and checked the sensors, all working fine, then I flashed the new rom + gapps, went to all settings and the sensors are still working.

Hi,

I updated from AEX 6.4 to 7.3 today, clean wipe. Looking good! One problem that I was hoping would be fixed is Screen Cast, but I still have the same problem as before updating. I can find my TVs (both Samsung and LG), but as soon as I try to connect to them Android reboots itself.

I wonder whether I'm missing a baseband or firmware update, but I'm not sure how or where to check for the latest ones? Any other ideas? About screen shows Baseband version M8996FAAAANAZM-1.70664.3.76387.1 (but if I recall correctly this number doesn't always change when you update it).

Thanks for keeping AEX and this great little phone alive. Recently put a new battery into it - wasn't easy! - which has given it a new lease of life for me... Unfortunately my case is wearing out and not many places are selling accessories any more. I have a spare but don't like it nearly as much as the one I originally used.

ETA: Never mind, I finally found this (google search seems to be better than XDA forum search!)

...and I had already downloaded the latest/recommend file in 2018 so I guess I'm as up-to-date as I can be.

I have installed this rom and I don't know why but the sound (record function for sound) does not work when I record a video. I tried with whatsapp, snap... It does not work?

My mic phone works as I can record audio message.

Do you have an idea to solve my issue?

I had the same issue and to solve it, I had edit the build.prop including there the next lines:

ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=fluence
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=true
persist.audio.fluence.voicerec=true
persist.audio.fluence.speaker=true

Then the sound appeared

I just flashed the latest Version Yesterday and everything works fine, but for one thing. I cannot get any connection to LTE/4G.

Preferred network is set to LTE and *#*#DATA*#*# tried some configurations but that didn't lead to any success.

Why not 7.3? What kind of battery pains... is it a new battery? The Zuk Z2 Pro is pretty old now, and the original battery is almost certainly dying - mine ended up having to be charged multiple times a day before I replaced it.

I have replaced the original battery with a new one this year, With AEX 6.7 , every thing works fine for me, and the battery is ok. But with AEX 7.3 , the battery works badly, almose need to charge three times a day.

With Arrow OS 10, every thing works fine, and the battery life is pretty good, just like AEX 6.7, and with the Nameless kernel, the battery life is excellent！One charge daily most time.

PS: For screen cast, I use scrcpy .

I did flash the latest baseband I found in the Baseband thread. That didn't help. Then I tried this :

Solution: Thanks to @vickdu31 and @juyer there is the following mini guide:

- Download 3.5 latest baseband from this post
- flash it with twrp.
- Extract .zip of baseband
- Reboot to fastboot

fastboot -i 0x2b4c flash modem NON-HLOS.bin (this file is from .zip baseband)
fastboot -i 0x2b4c erase modemst1
fastboot -i 0x2b4c erase modemst2
fastboot -i 0x2b4c reboot

I think my zuk z2 pro is (half) bricked. It was working fine with prevous aex rom but I thought it was time to update rom.

I have copied the rom to phone and started in twrp recovery to install aosp rom and got error 7.
I have tried to get in fastboot to update twrp 3.4.0-0 and wiped data, cache, dalvik etc. Then I got the same error 7 and vendor message in twrp when I try install aosp rom.
Qfil not worked for me. Download fail: Switch To EDL FailFAiled to Swit to Emergency Download mode.
With adb I get now error: device '(null)' not found.

What can I do now after tried different steps. I don't know which is the best step and how to unbrick?

-Need stock firmware or doesn't matter?

My phone was rooted.

Try to use an older twrp-3.2.3-1-z2_row.
It should fix the error 7 code.
Which version of twrp do you have used before this experiment?

I don't remember the version of twrp before experiment
Next question:
1. What is the best way to install older twrp-3.2.3-1-z2_row, from adb, qfil or can I transfer the rom to the phone from recovery/bootloader?
2.Must I do a wipe? Before or after flash twrp of rom?
3.Which rom can I install/flash first? Stock rom is better to get the phone work I think. Is there a specific version which required and how to flash, from adb, qfil?

There is a lot of information about unbrick but there are outdated or not worked for me.
I hope with some tips and help I can bring life back in my zuk z2 pro
