I managed to successfully install LineageOS and GApps but LineageOS does not start.
Logo of LineageOS seems like wants to load but eventually tablet resests and TWRP loads.
What is happening?

Yes you need to invest 4 Euros to get the code. Where's the problem?

Hi all,
absolutely perfect guide. I really appriciate! Even the 5GB system extension runs well.
Working great with my BTV-W09.
I am just fighting that playstore is uncertified after the install (used nano gapps), but I send my frame ID to Google. So let's see.
Again thank you very much :)

Hi all,
just installed this successfully on my BTV-DL09 which I will then give my son. First had the original 2GB version, gapps-nano did not fit due to space concerns, gapps-pico worked fine. Then decided to modify partition table to get the 5GB system partition and install gapps-nano, only to then get the same problem as relaxxer - play services reported as being uncertified. With gapps-pico it now works (but could have saved me the work of changing the partition table and losing 3 GB worth of space on data partition). Anyway, maybe it is just a temporary issue with gapps-nano.
Cheers,
Tim

PS: What confused me tremendously is that it is impossible to plug in the cable to the computer once one is in TWRP. It will always reboot into some Huawei recovery then. Only way to get into TWRP with computer connected is to do an adb reboot recovery from within the system (which is obviously impossible if the system is not yet installed).

EDIT: Ok, now when I try to sign in to Play Store, I also get the "not certified for play protect" error, and it pops up with sound every few seconds. Sheesh, that will not be very useful. What can I do about that? It cannot be related to the modified partition scheme, can it? (If so, I guess I could just once more apply the procedure with the original values?)

EDIT2: Ok, I now went through the procedure of registering my android_id. @relaxxer did that work out for you? How long does that take? Is this android_id persistent over installing updates of the ROM or gapps?

Ok, registering the device's android_id with Google worked, the warning went away and everything works fine. Also upgraded to nano gapps without problems. Thanks a lot to @surdu_petru for giving this tab a second life, really appreciate your work!

Good evening and thank you for the ROM.
Appreciate your work!
I played around with the ROM it the whole weekend. An now I am happy with the result :)

Was situation:
- BTV-W09 with C100B302 (Android 7)
- TWRP 3.0.1-1 (Greatslon mod)
- Magisk 19

Is now:
- BTV-W09 with LOS 17.1
- TWRP 3.3.1-1
- System partition unmodified (still 2GB)
- Magisk 25.2 with Zygisk enabled
- LSPosed 1.8.6
- microG Revived (Magisk Module)
- FakeGapps (LSPosed Module)
- MagiskHide Props Config
- Universal SafetyNet Fix

The system is running stable and if you consider the old processor, it's not doing too badly.
Play Store is working. All purchased apps are working. Licenses could be restored without issues.
SafetyNet passed! With the modules above. Device fingerprint is from Xiaomi :) There are not Huawei tablets with android 10 in the list available.

- GPS Working.
- I don't use the camera on the tablet, but I tested it, and it is not working :(
- Home button not working as button, only as fingerprint scanner.

It would be great, if you could continue development and maybe fix the camera in the future.

Thanks again!

Hi @ all,

I have this Mediapad BTV-DL09 too, running at BTV-DL09C100B311 / EMUI 5.0.4 / Android 7.0 / 32GB internal / 4GB RAM.
Because I hate this - I am a noob, can someone help me - I read all the 61 pages here and the Guide to unlock the bootloader too.

To practise the things written here, I used an old Telekom Puls (Alcatel One Touch) running on Android 6, unlocked the Bootloader, installed TWRP and after that LineageOS 14.1 together with gapps pico, successfully ;-)

now I feel well prepared to do this with the Madiapad ;-)
Let me ask one question before I start:

When I use the pico gapps version, I do not need to expand the System Partition to 5GB, because there is enough space to go forward right?

Because there will no security updates in the future for the android 10 version, the version from "update security patch level : October 5, 2022" - posting 1176 - page 59 - 16. Oct will be the last one for this LOS 17 branch right?

Are there any plans to move to LOS 19?
while reading all the postings here, surdu_petru wrote that LOS 18 will never be available.

First step will be unlock the bootloader with DC unlocker (adb and fastboot environment is working, DC Unlocker will get all the Data which I need) and install the TWRP >> DONE ;-)

I am a litte confused about the next steps, in the OP

  • Install the new TWRP 3.3.1-1 ( needed for Android Pie/Q )
  • Reboot to TWRP 3.3.1-1
  • Perform a clean wipe for the first install
  • wipe all ( into advanced wipe menu ) apart Internal s torage & Micro SD card (if available )
  • starting with 14/05/2022 you can increase the system partition to 5GB from here
  • Flash the latest build available
  • optional flash ( always the last available packages ) GApps
  • Reboot
what about the:
Select Wipe then select Format Data
This will format the table and remove the encryption (VERY important step)
as it is written on Page 35 - #681?
here in this little video there is no format data too

    For devices with 2Gb System partition : LineageOS-17.1-BTV_2023-02-25.zip md5 : e9b79f588dd7be85e4a9773f9468b7d5

    For devices with 5Gb System partition : LineageOS-17.1-BTV_2023-02-25.zip md5 : fef80bebb7fc3e2f4bca259a5a41c269

I suspect that the installation process is well-known to you (the easiest for those who just update from the old version, a dirty flash is enough)

No, I will add a new update as soon as I have some more free time

I recently use this ROM without installing Gapps.
My device works more comfortably, and uses lower CPU clock speeds more often than before.
For apps, we can use the Aurora Store without any problems, except for Gmail, etc.
However, if you want to install Chrome and Webview, you need to install the Trichrome Library beforehand; download the one from apkmirror that matches the version numbers.
    microG is not necessary.

Do I need to reflash boot image on the WiFi version, IF I UPDATE?
If yes, do I need to repatch/reflash Magisk?
    Yes !
    1
depends on case by case, you can use Java, C or C++ ... linux kernel is indeed C++ ... if you tell me how you solved your problem, maybe I can add it directly to the ROM so that you don't have to repair it after every update

EDIT : I don't have your tablet so I can't replicate your issue, on my tablet there is no issue about auto rotate !
Yes, this issue must be solved by the BTV-L0J user.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
