I've been using this rom for 3 days and at the moment it seems quite fluid and with a decent battery consumption.

However, I've detect a possible bug with the notch options. In some apps it doesn't seem to work very well. Any alternative to get the apps to show full screen?

Go to Display -> Full screen apps (at the bottom of the screen). Set the applications you want to use full screen for.

I had flashed Evolution X earlier with Magisk. I don't actually want a root because I use Google pay a lot, despite that just the custom rom works fine for me.
But I just want to try a few more roms, so to cut it short I want to backup the current rom, data, boot etc, for that to work I have to delete this data/per_boot folder, but I don't have access to it.
So, can you guys help to get root access, I have to install magisk manager & then flash Magisk 20.4? That's it?

For root access, all you need is get TWRP working, use it to flash Magisk, if you success, then that's it, you get root.
But what I heard is TWRP doesn't work well for backup starting Android 10. I've never tried, but just let you know.
You might use Titanium backup or Swift backup to backup data and app, but not the whole OS (or ROM) like TWRP does during Android Pie.

Backups are finnicky...I've had a few successes and a few fails.

I installed the ROM, but is there any gcam versions that work reliably with it - if so which ones? The one I have "works" but many pictures I take with it just "disappear". They never show up in my gallery for some reason. Sometimes a reboot fixes this - the pictures still missing but picture taking ability resumes - but as my primary driver I need the camera to just work.

PS It has been a while since flashing a ROM and so this was quite an ordeal for me: had to use a usb c to micro usb converter, a usb hub, a usb mouse and a usb flash drive to get the OS onto the device to flash once in TWRP

Make sure the camera app has storage , camera and microphone permissions in system/apps.

Hi,
I noted that I cannot enable wifi hotspot 5ghz (switch turns off itself), no problem with 2.4ghz.
Is it an issue specific to my phone or an Evolution X bug ?

What's your installation step sequence? Maybe I can help.

Anyone can access smart charging?
I'd like to set charging level but can't go to that page. It shows up in other devices but not in Essential

Two issues which are becoming a bit of annoyance..

1. Camera stops working after sometime. A reboot fixes it but by that time the moment has gone..

2. Auto brightness doesn't remember my settings. I keep it lowest in the house at night and it never goes to that. Stock used to remember it and adjust it pretty smartly.

Does updating through the app keep TWRP and Magisk?

    Hi,
If you're updating with build-in updater then you can use a magisk module to keep TWRP (TWRP A/B Retention Script) and install Magisk on inactive slot in this order.
This need to be done after the ROM update and before to reboot

    Installed smoothly.
    Recognized my Verizon sim card.
    Volte works
    Bluetooth and aptx works
Microphone works on the recorder app
    Pixel experience is nice.
    March 5 Android security patch
March 1 Google play security was easily updated
    Rapid charging works

    Need to test battery life.

    Thanks for the ROM.
