Trying to update this rom. When download 4.6 from update screen, I get verification failed. Any ideas?
There is still something goes wrong in ver 4.6
First,VoLTE is not working.
Second, camera can't save photos sometimes.(I have tested in 4 apps but still not working)
Last, I can't set my screen brightness in QS panel or Settings sometime.
I am not sure is this same to anyone or special to my device.
Sent from my Essential Phone using XDA Labs
I seem to be having lots of issues getting this rom to load and work properly. My sequence is as follows:
- return to stock Aug 18 so I can install twrp so touch will work.
- install twrp.img then install twrp.zip to slot a (b is the active slot)
- install evo rom and reboot into twrp to install magisk to a and b slots
- switch to active b slot
- reboot to bootloader to flash stock evo boot.img (slot b boot loops from twrp)
- reboot and evo boot screen to startup, but unable to use touch
I am obviously missing something and have tried multiple different times with the same issue. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Bit of a shot in the dark here but try flashing a newer vendor image with Fastboot after all of those steps, either Jan or Feb. From what I've heard, issues with the touchscreen seem to be related to a mismatched vendor image.
Also as a side note, you can control twrp from ADB using your computer as well, so you can avoid the need to flash the August image in the first place by using that.
Thank you Gavin, I will give that a try. At what point would you suggest flashing the Jan or Feb vendor image?
Thank you for the side note as well. I've tried to control twrp via ADB but have been unable to as I've only been able to find how to do that is by activating it through twpr. How do I use ADB if I have no touch in ADP?
Flash the Jan/Feb vendor as the last step.
As for the ADB commands to control twrp, I'll go search up where I found it and get back to you soon.
EDIT:
So the command:
adb shell twrp help
Or
adb shell twrp -h
Or
adb shell twrp --help
Should give you a manual/help page on how to control twrp through adb. If you need further help, you'll need to reply to me with a message showing what that command says ^^^ since I don't actually use twrp on lineageos.
Something like adb shell twrp sideload followed by adb sideload path-to-rom-on-computer.zip should sideload said zip file. Might take a while and stop at a random percentage though, so you'll need to be patient with it.
Thanks again Gavin! I appreciate the help!!

One issue I've noticed just recently is my LTE turns off when I make a call making data unavailable. Is this an issue previously noted and is there a solution?
Honestly, I couldn't help you with VoLTE related problems since I don't use it myself. There are likely other folks here more knowledgeable about it than myself. Did touch start working for you btw?

I had similar issue and no solution for it (and that's the reason I moved to another rom).
We'll wait for next release and see if it's fixed. For me, version 4.3 is perfect.

Thank you, will go back to 4.3 because I really like this rom. Did you move away from Evolution altogether? What rom do you use?
If you want to use Evolution with VoLTE, then use version 4.4 and install Voenabler v1.8 (n eed root to flash it using TWRP). With ver 4.4 you have June Security patch.Thank you, will go back to 4.3 because I really like this rom. Did you move away from Evolution altogether? What rom do you use?
Here's the link for Voenabler v1.8 (scroll down somewhere in middle of the page)

After trying many ROMs, I stay with StatiX OS, because it's very close to stock rom, simple, stable, has VoLTE, has double tap to close, AND they update regularly. Give it a try.
The changelog says volte was removed in 4.6. I don't use it.
I'm not having any camera saving issues, although I have on past builds. I'm using GCam 7.2.
No brightness slider issues here either. The only problem I have is a random hard reboot every couple days.

Thank you very much!! I was trying Statix but couldn’t find advanced restart setting (I know, not much reason not to give it a longer try) but I will try it again. I’m also going to try Voenabler as well. Does it work with evolution 4.6?
Yes, Statix has advanced restart, in quick setting, you can tap on Reboot icon to switch between Reboot and Recovery.Thank you very much!! Also, you might need to enable this feature by going to Developer options, go down at the end, at Global Actions, turn on Enable advanced restart.
About Evolution 4.6, I didn't try it after buggy 4.4 and 4.5, but I think Voenabler should work with it.

Certainly sounds like it is worth another try. I will try it out.
