Hello,

im on the official lineage 16 rom with encrypted main partion and TWRP3x/ Magesik 20.
As mentioned i need " the latest firmware (10.0.0-H1)" but the links which are provided her are dead.

Is it possible that i simply
upgrade my TWRP
flash the new firmware (firmware_10.0.1_dumpling.zip)
flash the new official lineage 17.1
flash Magisk

reboot ? or is there a other approach due to encryption ?

Hi,

I finally upgraded from LOS official 16.0 to 17.1 following these steps:
- Backup
- Reboot TWRP
- Flash latest available 3.4.0-0 TWRP
- Flash firmware hotfix1
- Flash the LineageOS 17.1
- Flash OpenGapps (nano)
- Reboot & initialize
- Flash latest Magisk (20.4) from TWRP

OS seems to work, i noted few issues so far:
- 4G or WiFi icons display "no internet connection" whereas i obviously have internet access from both (tried to desactivate one then the other to test, and internet is OK). Seems like an icon inversion.
Edit: Fixed by a deactivate/cache clean/re-activate of AFWall+ , which was limiting connections for an unknown reason
- All my camera apps (latest Arnova custom GCam & integrated LOS one) always force closes. I tried to clean cache/data of both apps. No success, still force closes :(
Edit: Cameras force closes have been fixed by installing latest Magisk module "OnePlus 5/5T Front Camera Fix (V5.7)" (https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/op5fix/) :highfive:

Hope this helps someone.

And a massive "Thanks" to our volounteers devs working on this release !!
It helped me so thank you. I've no issue so far.
Thanks to you it's even the smoothest upgrade I did, as I always ended up wiping everything.

I also join your massive Thanks to the devs for their hard work to keep our device alive.

I installed the official build of LineageOS 17.1 on my Oneplus 5 today however during the initial setup process I couldn't connect to a WiFi network (it just kept searching). I skipped this process and used my data for the rest of the setup and then when I went into the WiFi I noticed that the WiFi would turn itself off after about 5 seconds of me turning it on.

These are the steps I took during the flashing process:

- Backed up phone

- Wiped everything and formatted data

- Flashed the latest firmware (firmware_10.0.1_cheeseburger.zip)

- Flashed LineageOS 17.1 (lineage-17.1-20201110-nightly-cheeseburger-signed.zip)

- Flashed Pico Open GApps

________________________________

Flashing the older Hotfix 1 firmware didn't work as that caused a bootloop on my phone.

If anyone has experienced this or knows how to fix it please do respond to this.

I have, I even did a second clean flash however got the same result.

As you can see the Wifi symbol in the status bar is greyed out slightly and when I go to turn it on it searches for about 5 seconds before turning itself off again.

Is anyone else experiencing this or know a fix?
Yes, this problem was reported at least twice (including by myself). The only solution known at the moment is to perform a clean flash (and NOT keep\restore the previous data partition).

I had this problem too, what solved it for me was upgrading the firmware to the hotfix version. However, I should mention that mirroring works less well in >17.0: previously when playing a video through VLC, the phone's screen would be black, but now it shows the video too - which I find annoying. Also, the mirroring icon is red instead of gray (but maybe this is just a style change).

What do you mean by not restore the previous partition, cause I'm petty sure I didn't do that.

These are the steps I took on my last attempt to flash:

- boot into Lineage Recovery
- I was already on the 10.0.1 firmware from first flash so I skipped that step (I doubt that's causing the problem)
- factory reset/format data
- wipe cache partition
- side load LineageOS 17.1 and install
- side load Pico GApps and install
- reboot phone

Basically I did everything the instructions told me too and the problem still persists. Any help would still be appreciated as I'm currently at a loss.

Edit: I did a 100% clean install by wiping the system partition in Lineage Recovery (along with data and cache) and that still didn't work. WiFi still isn't turning on.

thanks for reply...
no matter what firmware i flash (10.0.0-h1 or 10.0.1), wfd service keeps stopping.. i suppose its cause by something in /data..
i am going to try clean flash as i get some time...

Give me a log from boot to wifi turning on.

Please note that any dotfix/other camera mod will not work with updated camera blobs!
Uninstall any mods before reporting bugs (as always)!

I'll also need a kernel log:
adb root
adb shell kmsg

Also, what gapps are you using?
When I run adb root it tells me "ADB Root access is disabled by system setting - enable in Settings -> System -> Developer options" however I can't find the option in developer settings. Would it be possible to get a picture of where the setting is?
I'm assuming its under one of these options (see pictures) however I don't know.

Magisk also has "apps and ADB" enabled under superuser options (if that's helpful)

Running adb shell kmsg without the adb root command returns "/system/bin/sh: kmsg: inaccessible or not found"

To answer your other question I'm currently using Pico GApps, I also tried clean flashing with Nano GApps earlier today and Wifi still wasn't working.

Sorry if I'm being annoying with my lack of knowledge of this stuff

Sorry, I meant dmesg.
Did you try without Magisk? Are you using custom kernel?

Do this:
adb shell
su
dmesg

Yes I did a clean flash without magisk multiple times and wifi didn't work.
My kernel version is "4.4.241-lineage+", I didn't flash any custom kernel files.

typing in su after adb shell returns "Shell was denied Superuser rights"

Allow root access in Magisk.
