Just thought I'd post up, if anyone is like me I couldn't get past the reboot stage after formatting the partition, I would end up stuck in stock fastboot, basically a soft brick. Even after following all the guides on the telegram group I could not get TWRP to stick after the 2nd reboot no matter what I did.

To get around it what I did was after the first reboot while I still had TWRP I sideloaded the rom after the format and now all is good. Not sure why it was different for me. Although after I went through this I did see a guide on the telegram group mentioning sideloading.

Also confirming that coming from MIUI10 to PE without formatting does not work, you cannot get through the initial setup of the phone because of permission problems causing the setup application to close.

For me, google pay works, banking apps work (ING australia, HSBC), AI button works fine, short press for google search, long press for google assistance. Lots of little quality of life improvements over MIUI, don't think I'll be going back.

Been using this ROM for a week or so now and very impressed with it. Couple of minor issues. Santander UK app doesn't work, claims device is rooted. Understand this is a difficult one to achieve, even with magisk hide (which I've not installed) so not too fussed about that

Other thing, as I'm in the UK, I'd expect to see mobile data listed as 4g but it shows up as LTE or LTE+. Is this something that can be changed?

You need to go to settings->system->status bar->system icons and here's option for it

August update is now out. There have been a ton of bug fixes, some of the more important ones below.

New camera stack, the default camera can now do 4k video recording, and gcam ports now function correctly. I have tested this port and apart from telephoto lens everything functions correctly (4k, 60fps, slo mo, astrophotography, etc)

Display stack built from source, this fixes all colour profile issues and you may notice more vibrant colours.

No deep sleep in always on display mode is fixed.

Just got the Mi Mix 3 5G, and immediately updated to this ROM using the XiaoMiTool V2 Linux app. The whole process was flawless and the ROM is amazing.

I'm aware of the offline charging bug and I already have it fixed in my testing builds. For now just hold volume up button when connecting charger so that it boots in to recovery mode.

Did you merge your fix in your last build? Because I just faced this issue using lastest build.

Won't turn on

I let me battery die to 0% & now my won't turn on at all. Refuses to charge (shows 0%) and there's no way of booting into recovery as the battery won't charge. I've left it plugged in for hours and it's still showing 0% and I can't turn it on or anything. Any suggestions?

Strange about the offline charging! I and others verified it as working on builds made on my own PC, so I didn't check on the official builds. It also works fine on all the other ROMs that I make. Until I can pinpoint why it doesn't work on the official builds, just use the advice I gave before: Hold volume up button while plugging in charger so that it boots into recovery mode.

This rom is incredibly smooth and stable. Love it. I see you develop multiple ROMs for this device. Idk how you do it but kudos to you.

The slider close action seems to emulate the back button function. It works great when you slide down to open the camera app and then slide up to close the camera. But when using any other app (eg. Zoom) if you slide up to close the camera, it will back out of the entire app. Maybe it can be reprogrammed to do nothing? Not a huge deal. Perhaps a QOL improvement for a future update?

On the subject of camera, I can't seem to get the front camera to work on gcam 7.3/7.2. When I switch to the front cam, the viewport shows the front cam briefly and then the app crashes. However, front cam in portrait mode works flawlessly. I tried many versions of gcam from multiple modders (currently on urnyx) and same issue persists across all of them. Not sure if this is a rom issue or an issue with the gcam version. If anyone could point me to right version that would be amazing. There was another post on here that suggested san1ty. Same issue with that one.

It's working

It wouldn't even get into recovery using the standard charger but after plugging it into my laptop charger it started charging whilst turned off maybe it just needed more power

The Mix 3 (codename perseus) has completely different hardware (Snapdragon 845 vs Snapdragon 855) compared to the Mix 3 5G (codename andromeda) which makes them completely incompatible with each other.

I am considering the mi mix 3 as well without 5G as the 5G version doesn't have LTE bands for the US.

Would one put the mix 2s PE rom then on that since they are both SD 845?

I have the ROM on my phone. It is great except for sliding the screen, and no 5G.

are you saying you are using this rom on a Perseus? the non 5g version?

Ah Thanks. i just went by what's on pixelexperience.org, so i guess there is no official support for it. I assume others did the same.

Yes, 5G works.
No, there is no 5G option in settings.

Hope I don't bother you too much..... A little thing that many people might like is to invert the navigation buttons. I installed an app in order to have the back button on the right...and with the gesture settings on from the system.... thanks again for this great custom ROM.

PE doesn't have that option. As an official maintainer I'm not allowed to add or remove any features, any feature requests will have to go to the main ROM developers.

The phone does indeed charge from 0% when changed from my 45w laptop charger WITHOUT going into recovery.
