After a full wipe, what's the best way to install rom? with TWRP and adb sideload ?

---------- Post added at 05:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:53 PM ----------

I still get the launcher error with a fresh clean install of last crDroid, last firmware and nano gapps from 20200418
Connect your device with a PC and transfer everything you want to flash to your device. Then start with flashing ROM and gapps first, boot the first time and check if everything works. After that go back to TWRP and add what you want, for example Magisk.

Hey guys,
I'h having trouble clean installing the latest build. No matter if I just wipe the needed stuff or if I format, after the 2nd reboot to recovery and flashing MicroG the rom won't boot up it's just showing the boot logo all the time without completing boot.

Does anyone have an idea?

if we installed nano version of gapps and we want to install micro version, will it erase extra gapps not (those from nano not included in micro)?
It should replace or delete most, but a few gapps could stay. Pico version almost completely gets wiped, not so sure about nano. Only if you use Nanodroid of course which I would really recommend. Just get the nanodroid-microg package from official website, not the full package or the other shenanigans.

is it possible to add the possibility of adjusting the vibrations of the haptic feedback? (To decrease it a little)
In any case it's a very good rom! Thanks a lot

I think you can only use kernel managers like kernel adiutor, fkm, exkm or smartpack kernel manager. Just search through the settings, miscellaneous in kernel adiutor.

Is there a way to fix the text message/notification delay? When my phone is sitting with screen off for awhile I wont get any text messages/notifications until I unlock it which makes me miss some important info while teleworking.

Settings -> apps & notifications > * select an app * -> Battery -> Battery optimization
Then wait for the loading, then select "All apps" in the drop-down menu.

Now you can disable the battery optimization for the apps with delayed notifications

Also,

I've installed the build of the 29th April (clean install) and I can't take a picture. The default camera app and GCam freeze when I take a picture.
In Messenger, I don't even have the button to share the picture.

In logcat, I can see a loop of errors with these 3 apps. Here is a logcat when I open the default camera app : https://justpaste.it/2il0y

There is no option for battery optimization for the default messaging app. (com.android.messaging)
I just had to download Google messages and now I can get texts when they are sent, but I would prefer to use the default one.

As for the camera, I haven't had any issues when I was using Snap camera. I recently switched to the Google Camera mod and have zero issues with that too.

I use the following files:
- OnePlus5&5T-DotFix-v5.5.zip (Magisk flash)
- Nikita-v1.3_GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05_mod.apk
- nik_v2.xml (oneplus 5 profile)

I'm trying to flash this ROM coming from rooted stock OOS Android 9, but it fails to boot into system. Tries to boot, then restarts and boots into recovery instead.
I've tried wiping the whole device, including internal storage just to be sure, but to no avail. Also tried with and without GApps and Magisk, didn't change anythink.
I'm using the latest firmware (63), the crDroid build from 2020-04-29 as well as open gapps 10.0-nano from 2020-05-01, recovery is codeworkx TWRP 3.3.1 from 2019-09-08.

Any advice?

Edit:
I resolved it with the factory reset option in the stock recovery. But there were a lot of ANRs/force closes so I had to switch to PE :/

Wiped everything yesterday and installed the latest build. Has somebody else also experienced bigger battery drain than on other builds before? On my device the battery is sadly melting very quickly but battery option says everything is working normal. :(

I've had huge battery drain since firmware change to HydrogenOS firmware, haven't noticed big difference between builds
