I'm not sure if it's a bug of the ROM or linked to something else. I have the Jan 14th version installed.
I can't set the notifications to silent or vibration only. Well, I can select this in settings, but neither WhatsApp nor K9 mail app care, the sound always comes. I have also flashed magisk, but not used so far, so no modules installed. Could this be linked?
I wouldn't care too much, but now I got some adrenalin when trying to bring the daughter to bed but having forgotten to let the phone somewhere else :D

I updated the LineageOS, but I can't install the Gapps
LOS: lineage-17.1-20210218-nightly-cedric-signed
Gapps: open_gapps-arm64-10.0-stock-20210220 (full and mini doesn't work too)

You need arm64 android 10 nano

Never install stock on a custom rom like this - it replaces system apps you don't want replacing eg camera app & will break things

You need to flash gapps at the same time you flash the rom after you have wiped system data cache

i instaled that rom yesterday, after some smal issue with and instaling from stock oreo everything went fine, is smooth and stable, no issue with camera. my only issue is some random reboots, it hapenned 4 times til now, 3 when i tried to switch apps and one while charging i dont know why it happens but is a great rom anyway

that one from the link. using latest twrp 64bits
i installed from stock oreo(flashed twrp wiped data did a factory reset then rebooted to twrp sgain to flash the rom) ,flashed gapps 10 arm64 pico
everything works fine is just the random reboots. im thinking about using stock oreo with gravitybox (not sure if it is worth and better)

update: after struggle with magiek edxposed and magisk i managed to make everything work as intended is good but i miss few lineage features that either gravitybox and modules cant fill up (still better than some random reboots)

Hey, I've tested the various builds from the 29th Nov to the 7th Mar build found in the thread.

With all builds after the one from the 29th I don't have a working camera.
The inbuilt camera app is gone after flashing and user installed camera apps can't access the sensor.

I tried switching firmwares via twrp flashable zips between OPPS28.85-13-2, OPPS28.85-13-6 and OPPS28.85-19-4-2. Sadly that didn't change anything here.

My Bootloader says still B8.09, which is not the latest. I guess this would change if I updated the firmware via fastboot instead the twrp flashable files, but is there even any chance, this makes a difference?

So I'd like to know, am I the only with this problem and if so, could someone who has a working camera with the latest build from March track the setup differences down with me?

Greetings,
L

sorry if it has been said before, i don't want to get on your nerves :) … cedric is now an officially supported lineageos device for the 17.1-branch. if you flash these images, you'll get a flawlessly working phone, including the camera.

i'm using these builds for quite a while now and have never been happier … see https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-10-official-lineage-17-1-nightly-for-moto-g5-cedric.4232827/ for details. flashing involves going back to the latest official 8.1 release, the lineageos-image is built on codezeros work.

Ouch.
1. The post is not from the developer. It's an random person that wondered why there is no XDA thread.
2. Official lineage uses an entirely different base than CodeZero's Lineage. He helped on the new base tho.
3. You don't need go back to stock is most cases.

hi nift4,

no niftpicking intended … you definitely need to flash the 8.1 images from lenovo if you were running builds based on codezeros efforts before, otherwise you'll end up in a bootloop.
anyhow, the point i was trying to make is: if you want a working camera or - for that matter - a working phone in general, it might be a good idea to use the official builds. i am thankful for the person that started the thread i linked to above, i might have missed it otherwise.

Just out of curiosity, could you go into more technical details, what flashing the stock 8.1 image does, that's missing if one does simply make sure to have the intended firmware in place and does a clean install without it?

i wish i knew …

i've had this happening on two devices, both were running 15.1/16.0 based on codezeros device tree before. wiping everything and even recreating the data partition didn't help. the only way to get the phones to boot again was to re-flash the images they were running on before. this happened to other people as well, see https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-10-0-unofficial-arm64-lineageos-17-1.4019593/post-84075145 .

/proc/last_kmsg in twrp only contained messages pertaining to the recovery boot, but not the failed ones - that marked the end of my debugging attempts :/

you need oreo firmware to install lineage 17 since without the system bootloops or if boots does not have working wifi volte camera ans finger print. using the nightly version from official site my phone reboots randomly and i can't login on Twitter so im using a unnoficial 14.1 port for cedric. is being good experience besides i miss LineageOs 17 features

I flashed my Moto G5 cedric1676 with this ROM. After some day usage I noticed that the phone time is not correct after restarting or rebooting without mobil data or wifi turn on. Enabling the wifi or mobil data the phone time is synchronizing with the right time. So, the time and (maybe date not checked) functions partly do not work. Is there any fix except for keeping wifi or mobil data connection on?

    About LineageOS

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
