Does this mean that this rom doesn't support encrypted partition - You need to have decrypted partitions to use LineageOS ?

No , of course it works... But i think there was a problem with my device when it was unable to start any custom roms with previously encrypted device ,,, though i did a factory reset/ format data / whatever that it's called.
The problem was :: after an installation(custom rom- clean or dirty flash, both) my device got stuck on boot animation forever.. and force reboot never was able to boot into system again (always took me straight to recovery). So i went for rm forceencrypt from twrp after factory reset. Then ,,, it didn't solve my boot animation loop, but when i force rebooted , the os was able to boot normally ever after...? Hope you got my point

Faced some unmentioned issues with the rom. Don't know about others,, but I faced them. This is just to inform, and with due respect towards the developer.
* Shareit doesn't work while receiving files.(probably hotspot problem,, p.s. hotspot works in other cases)
* Screen recording is massively buggy.
* Unable to change call volume for earphones , always stays at full volume. (Messenger calling and calls over such apps are fine.. just with normal voice calls)
* Sometimes, and i mean a very less number of times, apps are removed from the memory despite having enough memory though i didn't close them, (just switched apps)
* Some apps like adobe draw works notably slower than normal. And sometimes the normal functions freeze(not the app itself)
* Video recording broken.
* Another minor issue is, apps in horizontal orientation have half cut images in recent apps screen.
Apart from these, the rom is just great, no doubting that. Thanks for such a great piece. Keep up the good work.

The youtube vanced page says in the help section of root that it works for < android 10,,, so maybe this is the reason?

It's working on mine through magisk. I have Pico Gapps and everything fine.
Flashed and installed YouTube vanced trough every method possible, none of them worked for me, gonna try a clean flash and see, anyways thanks
- Hotspot needs more work, I agree on that. I am looking more into it.
- Lags/janks and all are supposed to be and will be fixed soon.
- Video Recording will be fixed again, but at the cost ofvideo playing capability via Instagram and WhatsApp. Issue is that removing the conflicting codec fixes video playback but breaks recording. I have reverted the commit in the tree, will release the build with it soon. As video playback works fine from local players, I suppose people can live with it for a while. Also Anx camera (Miui camera port) will work on later builds too.
- I would need logs for your volume issue in calling
- I will do something about apps dying in background
-Also about the wallpaper issue some guys were facing, its a lineage bug and has been fixed, I will release builds with it fixed.
About the logs,,,,, Should I take logcat, dmesg or maybe something else?

I do not yet have my device. But I am truly grateful if development continues. It's great that - sometimes - also MTK chips are supported.
So I went over to GitHub to download the latest and greatest and I noticed that the past couple of versions, a recovery.img is now included with the assets. I've searched up and down the commits, bugs, and anything else in English that I could find but nothing on that rather important file. Do I need it for this latest install? I probably should have asked this on Git, but I'm not really familiar with it and where to post what.

Well, the story behind recovery.img is simple. Guys at LineageOS wanted to have their own recovery which can install custom zips and stuff and is closer to AOSP as in source code modifications for it to be easier to maintain and support. So, they came up with it. It's now also a must to be working if you want official LineageOS support. So, I am trying to get it working as well. Current versions don't boot at all. Looking around and I hope it will be working soon. I will announce it here, so don't worry about that.
Also, considering Xiaomi released the Q kernel sources, I am working on it, for us to be able to use Q vendor and kernel sources to get more things working. It will take time. I will post regular updates on the thread if I get something working as well.
I managed to install Lineage! The secret is to flash orange fox recovery and not use twrp. At least not the version that I had, but I think it's the same one that's been around for a while now. Flash TWRP to do the usual unlock and root if you want but I could not got Lineage OS to install for nothing, wipe, stock, wipe some more, indian vendor, wipe, stock, wipe some more, and it wasn't until I installed Orange fox as a recovery that everything went smoothly. Everything seems to be working great, it's really fast too. But, I did notice something, the wifi randomly goes out on the phone. It sits there attempting to detect wireless networks but it's obviously failing because there's like 20 wireless networks near by and it doesn't detect a thing. The fix is simple enough, just turn the wifi off and then back on and it'll work for a day or two more. I happend to catch it and stopped to think for a minute and collected logs before and after I reset the wireless. Hopefully they might be of some use. Even though my syslog app scrubs the logs for any personal info, I'm just going to PM them to you.
