So this is no longer based on LineageOS sources?

I read that F&Q but I don't know what C.05 is nor do I know where to get it. And is it really necessary to wipe everything? I have my phone for 3 months now, I do not want to configure and install everything yet again. Is there an upgrade path from Version 1805?

C.05 is the latest official release of our phones and it is based on RealmeUI.
You can skip wiping internal storage but you must wipe everything else since you have to "clean flash" LineageOS (you should take a buckup first)
Said that, version 1805 is based on ColorOS, so, if you want to flash the latest Lineage OS which is base on RealmeUI, you have to flash
C.05 first, there is no way arround from 1805 to 2008.

In the 1st page (not 1st post) kemo has posted a link to download C.05

I recommend to read up all the thread, some users have posted very usefull tutorials.

Unable to boot

GREATT !! I followed your steps and it worked !!

Another day that is not so saturated with flashing I will investigate to see what it could fail ... I have been 8 days without a ROM and now I want to enjoy it :)

It's the happiest day of my last 8 days: Victory :: Victory :: Victory :: Victory :: Victory :: Five Highs :: Five Highs :: Five Highs :: Five Highs :: Five Highs: Why was I going to try some other CUSTOM ROM but LimeageOS was my # 1 choice!

I've never tried LineageOS and I'm excited: cowboy :: cowboy :: cowboy :: cowboy :: cowboy:

Hello, i just followed @Curious_guy tips' in order to boot 2008 as they did work for him and also for you, but i'm unable to boot.

Centairly i'm making some mistakes somewhere but i'd like to know which ones are, and also for facilitating life for anyone who gets into my situation.

C.05 boots fine without changing of Data filesystem (of course, how stock would not boot?) (maybe it has nothing to do with this but i'm just pointing out my testing).

Can you explain step by step what you exactly did in order to boot it?

Thanks.

When you flash stock C.05 you shouldn't boot the rom. Actually im not sure if that's the problem, but the steps that seem to be working are those mentioned above. If you boot on stock C.05, then the custom recovery gets overwritten, so you have to install twrp via fastboot again.

In conclusion, have you tried NOT booting C.05, wipping and then flashing 2008;

Yup, i just followed exactly step by step that you published, but without any luck.

(+ Had formated data, but always changing it to f2fs, maybe that's why, but the thing now is i cannot even get stock to boot, even with data as ext4 as it's by default).

If you stuck on bootloop-endless boot you can always enter fastboot mode and then boot to TWRP recovery, wipe everything (including internal storage) and install C.05.
After wipping you should use "/pull" commands via cmd while you are on TWRP to transfer C.05.ozip file on your phone (Someone has posted the exact commands on previous posts) and then flash it.

Nothing can go wrong untill this point.

Hola!! :p:p:p:p:p Saludos desde Mañolandia!!

Let's see, my mistake was that after flashing C.05 I started to System instead of TWRP

I did the following steps: Clear all: System, Vendor, Data, Dalvik cache and Format Data for Clean Flashing.

I flashed C.05 immediately after flashing C.05 I rebooted to TWRP I did not start System (this was my fault)

I delete everything again and I formatted Data I think I remember in case.

Then mmm I don't remember if I restarted or went back! I don't know if it affects anything. Try this step if you get Error.

After FLasheé Rom Lineage 2008 the previous ones you got BootLoop

After FLasheé NickGaaps, I understand Gapps you get BootLoop

After I rebooted

If after Flashing Gapps you get a restart to Recovery then Format Data

And so I got it !! I also changed Data and cache to F2FS after flashing from NickGapps

This Rom is the most fluid, light, fast perhaps not so customizable but safe, it is very focused on privacy control and for example, when I uninstall APKS whatever it is, Lineage 17.1 automatically deletes all traces of the APK and more. I'm really enjoying it with Lineage

Anything, tell me I'll try to help you !!

Postscript: I used TWRP Blablus this is important because others have given me errors when flashing the odd ROM.

Un abrazo te manda este Mañico ??????????

I just read this message

Before starting the flashing of Lineage you have to get start in Stock no matter what. That happened to me some time ago and I could not start any ROM including STOCK.

I think I solved it by going back to COS and then updating to RUI using Fastboot that was tedious and maddening to fix it because I had no idea how to do it but it has a solution ? another is that I remember exactly !!

Try the method of this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...de-newbie-resource-thread-bootloader-t3995285 in the last section of the first message how to fix Bootloop .

Basically it is:

Download all

and follow these commands:

fastboot -w && fastboot erase system
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot reboot
?????

Hello thanks for the response.

Yep, wiping Internal Storage did the trick.

Seems like it doesn't like having any files or something while booting for first time after removing encryption.

Should i do format data for 2008 coming from stock booted first time?

Thanks for your time.

Assuming you are on C.05, in order to install 2008 you should wipe everything again and then procceed flashing.

Download C.05 from herehttps://realmeupdater.com/downloads/archive/RMX1971EX/

You cant install 2008 when you are on 1805.
One is base on RUI and the other on COS. Clean install is required.
So, in short terms, you download C.05 and 2008, wipe everything, install C.05, wipe everything again, install 2008.
@der_stephan it's funny you are asking how to, since i followed your guide on 3rd page in order to install.

Hi Kemo, thank you for your good work on this ROM. I'm using the 2008 version and everything works quickly and smoothly, but my problem is that the mirroring on the TV doesn't work, it ends with a Wfd service application error. There is also a problem with the focus of the internal camera, but GCam works perfectly. And network traffic is also unusable, because it is completely hidden behind the camera cutout. Will it be fixed in the next version, please? The biggest problem is mirroring the TV. Thanks.

Thank you for the link. Where do I install that from? From TWRP? From Bootloader? After I installed C05, do I have to boot it or not? Do I have to unlock bootloader again? Do I have to install TWRP again? Which version of TWRP will work? Sorry if I say that but the first 3 topics in here simply do not give advice on when to do what. And with boot loops and stuff, there are obviously quite some pitfalls. Even after reading the previous posts, it still seems unclear because some of those posts contradict each other, some are clearly written from recollection where important parts may be missing or in the wrong order or simply wrong.

@der_stephan it's funny you are asking how to, since i followed your guide on 3rd page in order to install.

Well, I would laugh too, if there was an understandable upgrade path. When I created this guide, I had a new phone to fumble around to get it right. Now this phone is in daily use and I neighter want to loose all my apps and settings nor can I afford to be without phone over a more than a couple of hours. So I need to have a working path before I start making changes. My situation is quite different than before.

When I got it to work, I will gladly post a new version of my installation tutorial.

Still unable to boot

I'm sorry but i'm still unable to boot LOS 2008.

Idk what's going on but i tried all combinations possible for your suggested tips without any luck.

I did manage to boot stock once also, back when i followed @Curious_guy tip for wiping Internal Storage but now it refuses to boot stock again.

TWRP says no OS is installed after flashing C.05 in order to get the phone working at least with stock, and now when trying to reboot to system it always comes back to TWRP after a reboot in Android logo fist splash screen.

Maybe it's just me being dumb or something, but i'm facing that a phone that worked flawlessly, stopped doing such work with trying to updating it to latest software.

Idk why.

Guys i will try to make some things clear from my experience, after a lot bootloops trying to flash older roms.
Bootloader doesn't have to be unlocked again, it's a one time procedure.
No matter what, whatever rom you are, in order to flash 2008, there are a few requirments.

Be on C.05 (RUI). The reason for that is becouse 2008 is based on RUI too, not in COS as 1805 was based, and that's the reason you can't update from any other version to 2008.
You MUST install C.05 on TWRP and NOT boot it. (the version of TWRP @der_stephanposted on his 1805 guide worked for me).
If you have flashed successfully C.05 and booted it, it may end up in boot loop if you try to flash 2008.
So install TWRP if it's not already installed (TWRP gets overwritten when you flash AND BOOT stock roms, that's what i can tell from my experience), then,
Wipe everything including internal storage
Flash C.05 and reboot to recovery, NOT SYSTEM! VERY IMPORTANT!!
Wipe everything again and procced flashing 2008 and BitGApps.
Between wipes, use pull commands on cmd to transfer the files from pc to phone.
If you end up in bootloop it is reccomended to format data and reboot again.

I hope you get it working this time.

Lineage doesn't by default ship with gapps it is slightly anti G.
This is why i like this rom so much ;) I don't use google stuff.
Would love to see some development here. Wish i could help but it is way above what i know.

sorry, i m in Realme Ui, can you provide me the steps/procedure to downgrade from Realme Ui to Color os 6.

Yes, of course. This are the steps I followed. I assume you haven't an unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed. If so, you can skip the 3 first steps.

1 - Unlock bootloader following this tutorial. https://c.realme.com/in/post-details/1184734239149522944 . If you face any issue when entering the commands in fastboot mode I would recommend connecting the usb to another port of your computer and try again.
2 - Flash TWRP. You can find a guide here https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...de-newbie-resource-thread-bootloader-t3995285 . It is pretty simple, in summary you must flash the TWRP image and the VBMETA image in fastboot mode.
3 - Enter in TWRP, make a backup of all partitions.
4 - Download ColorOS firmware from here https://realmeupdater.com/downloads/archive/RMX1971EX/ (thanks kemo12533). I downloaded the RMX1971EX_11_A.17 version. You will get an OZIP file that you must copy to your phone. I would recommend copying it to an external SD card.
5 - From TWRP, wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache. Press install and select the ColorOS ozip you moved to SD.
6 - Press reboot system and you should boot into color OS. If your phone reboots into recovery mode again, format data (keep in mind that this will erase everything in your phone storage).
