[ROM][10][OFFICIAL] lineage-17.1 for Pixels (marlin/sailfish)

Hi. My device is now running the last unofficial build provided here by razorloves: lineage-17.1-20220219-UNOFFICIAL-marlin. I would like to upgrade to the official lineage-18.1. Do I have to do anything different than what is stated in the official instructions to upgrade https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/marlin/upgrade?

nope, nothing different. i just did it myself.
went into recovery, installed 18.1 zip, selected reboot to recovery, installed mindthegapps-11 zip, done.

Do I have to wipe my device, when upgrading to new 18.1 official Lineage OS?
I am now using the latest 17.1 official build.
Some people said it is okay, but better wipe first to avoid things go wrong.

nope, nothing different. i just did it myself.
went into recovery, installed 18.1 zip, selected reboot to recovery, installed mindthegapps-11 zip, done.

Everything went well. Thank you very much for the directions. Instead of mindthegapps I used opengapps-pico, as indicated by npjohnson ([OFFICIAL] LineageOS 18.1).

So I see lineage os 18.1 finally hit pixel xl gen 1. I should prob get mine out of storage to install it. How was the process?

Does anyone have a fix to prevent the display brightness from automatically adjusting so low? Can we limit the lowest brightness setting to a higher value?

Does anyone know of a Magisk module or some other hack to change the lowest brightness setting? I know I'm not the only person who is dealing with this issue; I still haven't found a fix or workaround.

Any ideas are appreciated.
