does OTA update work for anyone? i get errors for both yesterdays and todays nightly builds
I'm having the exact same issue. Following to see if there's a fix. Can it be manually installed through the trebilized TWRP? Where does the download save to and do we need to reinstall gapps and magisk with it?

Nvm, answered my own question by looking back 1 page. Exported updated, installed using trebilized twrp, didn't have to reinstall gapps and magisk auto installed with the update.

All is up and running.

You can use fastboot command, "fastboot erase userdata" without the quotation, but it'll remove storage encryption on your phone

Hi, I can't get root. I followed the directions given in this thread by JuniorCaesar: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...ge-os-16-0-t3871409/post79014172#post79014172

I wiped cache and system, installed lineageOS 16 newly and (without booting) I flashed Magisk 18.1 as linked in the post from JuniorCaesar followed by Open gapps. After booting I was surprised that although I wiped cache and system my apps were still installed. Anyway, the root checker tells me, that the Moto Z is not rooted although I can see under section "SU info" in the root checker that MagiskSU is installed. Magisk Manager itself tells me that all is up to date. I can't find a root entry to activate (even not grayed out, it's simply missing) in the developer settings as well. I am wondering how I can get root. Any hints?

can you use this magisk version and re-do the steps?

edit: this version is fully working, flash magisk-uninstaller.zip first and afterwards flash this one.

I think I have already done all the steps in the magisk installation and whenever I try to do a recommended update for the application, MagiskManager v7.0.0 (185,), I always get a message, "Application not installed."

It seems that the data encryption is not working anymore after upgrading to LineageOS 16.0 with the treblified TWRP (the phone just bootloops after the first reboot from the encryption process, only made it boot again after re-formatting /data). Any hints on how to fix this?

I tried this Magisk version but it don't works. Now the Magisk manager says that Magisk isn't installed at all (difference to before: before it said it is installed). Maybe I need an updated Magisk Manager since I realized that the version you linked is an 18.2 version? The root checker says not rooted and:

Path:
[/sbin/su]
Version:
18.2-5764f0c8:MAGISKSU
Permissions:
rwxrwxrwx
Owner:
root:root
SELinux:
getenforce: Couldn't get enforcing status: Permission denied

okay, try this:

first flash magisk-uninstaller.zip and use this version

if this not work, re-flash lineage and flash this version of magisk

i am saying this because it is confirmed to work on 3 different devices (in the telegram group) including my device

Wow, with the uninstaller and reinstall your version it works. Cool. Thank you for that.

Just another question: I have a titanium backup on my SD card. LineageOS says the directory has 0 bytes and neither my file browser nor titanium can access the folder. Any directions for that problem?

I am on version 1.3. But will update in a couple of minutes to their latest build. Otherwise I will copy the folder with twrp to internal memory. Twrp can access the folder without any problem. There are also other folders which cannot been accessed on the SD but also some which are accessable. Very strange

The LineageOS 16 driving me nuts. I flashed today's build and rebooted from twrp. Now my pattern which drcrypts the system was not recognized any more. OK, I accessed twrp again (BTW with the same pattern which works here) and wiped again system and cache. After rebooting I got again this silly boot loop. Arrrrgh.

Now my battery is flat.

*Important*

First i need to say sorry about broken OTAs on official nightlies so to fix this bug please update twrp and format cache

New TWRP: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397907952
Cache format command: "fastboot erase cache"

Why?
We were using cache as vendor for treble and oem partition as cache because cache was bigger
But problem is on runtime Android oem partition is not getting mounted writable...
So lineage updater can't write on /cache (oem partition)
Now in tomorrow builds we use oem as vendor and cache as cache
