Thanks bud, this sorted the issue for me. Didn't realise I had installed an older version of twrp

LOS 16.0 boot failure

Hi everybody,
installed LOS 16.0 on Moto xt-1650-03.
Everything seems to be working correctly, but the first time I start the system, it freezes after loading the LINEAGE logo and roll back to motorola bootloader unlocked screen. The only things happens after lineage logo is the front led turn on.
I read this https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/awe97t/moto_z_griffin/ and then
tried TWRP: 3.2.3-0, 3.3.1-0, twrp-oemasvendor-2.img from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79047397&postcount=221
I tried LOS 16.0 all versions available here: https://download.lineageos.org/griffin and also 15.1 versions
My Phone details, from bootloader:

Hi everyone.
Phone didnt boot after ota update from 24 of august. Tried to completely reflash from formatted state - didnt boot. Lineage busy logo and then reboot to recovery! Need help.

TWRP - last version.

OTA update worked or you update manualy? manualy update never worked right for me.

Just installed version from June. It is ok!

It is definetely something wrong with some version older then 18 of august (i tried to update it to 24 of august).

I'm with the same problem, but I did a clean installation of 24 and 25 august versions and can't get the phone boot up, always busy in Lineage logo and after a few minutes it automatic reboot to recovery.

I used the last version of twrp (twrp-3.3.1-0-griffin) and tried to use another version (twrp-treble-3.2.3-2) too, didn't work.

I tried omni and crDroid and they worked well, following the same steps.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't have the old version and the Lineage website don't keep old versions =/

I just installed an unofficial 15.1 version and works.

Using the june image I can update until the 23 of august, 24 and 25 of august didn't work. It maybe an issue after 23 of august version. I'm trying to perform a clean install the 23 of august now, it is taking to long already, lets wait.

I can confirm that I stumbled across the same behavior.
LOS 20190821 is working. Later releases create a boot loop ending in recovery.
Omni release omni-9-20190825-griffin-WEEKLY produced the same error. So it might mot be LOS related.

Think it was the 23rd or 24th version.. But had no issues booting. All I did was wipe data, system and cache..

i know that newer builds work again, was quite odd that those didn't
