Is there another forum for Moto Z Lineage 17.1 that is more active than this forum ???
Thanks
Terry

Probably not for LOS17 on this device, except bug reporting directly at lineage gitlab which may not be very active but is more focused on actual ROM issues .

Since Lineage resources were down for several weeks and many new devices were added I'm hoping that this is a lull and that the pace will quicken soon, but then Moto Z is an older device with a shorter than average life span so there may not be so many people still using it anymore. In fact, this and other old Moto devices are lucky to have any Android 10 development.

Camera Trouble

Hi folks,

installed latest build on my Moto Z yesterday, all seems to work fine, except camera which doesn´t come to life whatever I do and whatever camera app I am using.
Came across this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z/themes/mod-rom-t3983037/page2
where I learned that
In Android 10, Moto Camera still doesn't work, possibly it works in the future, this is bug of the ROM not of the MOD.

Any help from anywhere in the near future?

best regards,
Karsten

Moto camera work????

Well, as I said, Camera is not working, neither Open Camera App, the LOS-built-in Camera or Motorola Camera Apps.
According to my post from 3 days ago this seems to be a known issue as special fixes have been built already which seem to work for older versions of LOS but not the current one.
Or am I wrong? Is there anybody out there with a functioning camera on Moto Z with LOS 17.1 ?

I was using https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-urnyx05/ without major problems.

I struggled with camera as well, the camera app which came with Los+nano gapps didn't always work/refused to save photos when used flash etc and no other camera app worked either. Now I'm using Los+stock gapps and gcam which comes with it also doesn't work, simply refuses to run. But, open camera works without a problem this way. Sometimes after a reboot camera/flashlight both won't work but starts working again after a reboot.

In my Moto Z camera also doesn't work, I used link provided by numlock_ and it works just once... now is just closing (I tried reinstall it but without success). Now I'm using OpenCamera and for now it works

Cumberland Center, ME
In phone calls, the people I am talking to have been complaining that they can hear themselves with a delay (which makes it hard to talk coherently).
The battery life when playing music with screen off seems worse than I am used to, but it's not a problem for me (especially when I get to charge in the car).

my bad, it was enforcing build, enforcing selinux is still on testing...
flash this to fix cam :...

HI... I installed the last build (20201003) with a clean install and my cam and flashlight don't work. After flash this patch, the flashlight revives, but the cam starts in a black screen and after couple seconds crashes. And flashlight stops work until I to restart the phone.

I have had some problems with the camera and flash as well. I think it's usually on the first boot after installing or updating LineageOS; after a reboot, it has generally been fine. I'm not sure, but installing a patch from August 2018 on top of a LineageOS build from October 2020 doesn't make intuitive sense for me. Try a clean reinstall and a reboot instead.

Performance issues with 17.1

Hi,

I'm using the 17.1 version since several months, and performances are really poor compared to 16 version. The most downgraded experience is using a web browser: most of pages take a long time to load, and are slow. And my device becomes warmer than before.

Does anyone experience the same behaviour ?

Thanks

Using Lineage os in Moto z for more than a year and yes, performance of lineage os 17 is worse than lineage os 16 but I'm grateful of @erfanoabdi for the support. I really like the android 10 gestures, which are far superior than older android gestures. One thing I find out that if the fresh install feels slugish, drained the battery all the way and charging it again fixes it. I don't know if this is true or my mind is just playing tricks on me.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Not Working :
    • All bugs fixed

    Instructions :
    • Download the latest build and gapps
    • Reboot to recovery
    • Flash the latest build, (magisk) and gapps
    • Reboot

    Downloads :

    Notes :
    • Only Battery Mod Support (no Efficiency)
    • Only Clean Installation Please
    • Bug Report Without logs means nothing

    Reporting Bugs :
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)

Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

I'm pretty happy to announce that, after some long waiting times, the encryption fix ha been officially merged in the 17/06/2019 build. This means that no encryption fix package needs to be flashed from now on.

Enjoy the new build, new stuff coming pretty soon :)
