thanks. managed to reflash stock rom and flashed RR. Im not sure if its my phone, or what i did in my process of flashing RR, but the rom stutters and doesnt register some of my touches, wifi wont turn on, and it randomly restarts. Is this normal?
Got into a mess after updating to RR 20210123. I notice you "reflashed stock" - can this be done without the bootloader relocking?

well, after a few hours long lasted battle with clean flash of latest RR update on unencrypted storage I must say that score between RR 8.6.6 vs. jeryll is 1:0 for RR 8.6.6

no clean flash of this update can happen on unencrypted storage as wipe cache, dalvik, data for whatever reason is not enough, I tried everything that I learn so far to clean flash this - no dice - the only thing I didn't (was not willing to) do was format data

I must say I only managed to dirty flash this clean flash needed build over old RR 8.6.5 backup and is working flawlessly so far, so go figure

you can start with this guide
Hello, I will not have any problem in 12.0.6.0 or should I flash 12.0.7.0?
I am constantly on the street, I would like a rom that gives me a lot of battery, I do not require power, I only use social networks and GPS. Could you recommend any rom that you have tried. Thanks a lot .

most recent custom ROMs will not have any problem either with 12.0.6 or 12.0.7
about energy efficient ROMs:
latest NitrogenOS 11 (for even better energy savings flash custom kernel Stormbreaker v4)
latest CrDroid 7.2, or latest Resurrection remix 8.6.6
but you need to test them how they will behave with your usage

Hi dudes, my audiofx randomly died(?), running RR 8.6.5... Haven't fiddled with much of anything, did install a few apps in the meantime (nothing that messes with audio effects), only changed some cosmetic RR options.
Really no idea what could be going on.
Like AudioFX isn't changing sound at all no matter what i do (was working fine a day prior with same wireless headphones/same music app).
Anyone run into this?

Edit: figured it out, silent ringer mode kills audioFX (incl. for media playback)

Same here update went flawless.

Yiu said you did a backup. Did you do the data partition with the recovery? If so, did you remove any Lockscreen security like patterns?
Yes. I have not as yet tried to restore, but I figured it might be more likely to restore properly with security removed. It only takes a couple of minutes to redo the finger prints. Could save hours of reconfiguring 😁

It's really sad that I will have to reconfigure everything again after dirty flashing update from a preceding version. What's frustrating is that wasn't able to backup my messages and call logs.

Although, I have backed up my data for the apps but restore function just messes up with the system and cause the system to bootloop.

Is there a more latest app that can read TWRP backups similar to what Titanium Backup can do. That way I can selectively backup my apps.

Not sure what happen in your case. Since I sussefully restored data partition after upgrade from gapps version to vanilla, I'll stay with orange fox recovery.I just did a dirt uosate yesterday. All I did was flash latest RR build with orange fox and didn't wipe anything like cache/dalvik.

Regarding to Titanium backup, try the Migrate app. It creates flash able zips from your backups. I played a bit around and found that it is more reliable than titanium backup. It also backups call history and messages if you whish so.

Hello, is there a current changelog for RR?
    This one:
    looks outdated.
I've noticed that on a previous version, the device switched back to 60hz after a reboot even if you selected 120. This seems to have been fixed with the latest version?

yes viper works u have to flash rssp module (check the poco x3 mods thread) and should be on magisk 21.0 (audio modication library and audio compatibility patch is required after flashing magisk)
Thank you, I finally managed to get V4A to work, without downgrading Magisk or installing RSSP. It works with Magisk 22. Sharing the full method because it's so convoluted, in case others need it too...

Step 1. uninstall RR's AudioFX (using "debloater" module with Termux)

Step 2. Install V4A the "usual way" (install, don't reboot, install "audio modification library" module, don't reboot, open V4A again, install drivers, gives SU, allow reboot)

Step 3. With POCO X3 you need to install "audio compatibility patch" module (process: vol+, vol- ; vol+, vol- ; vol-, vol-)

Step 4: to make it work on latest Magisk, from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...android-fx-2-7.3774651/page-249#post-84121895

Locate and edit file in root /data/adb/modules/ViPER4AndroidFX/post-fs-data.sh
Add this text to the end of the file

magiskpolicy --live 'allow audioserver audioserver_tmpfs file { read write execute }' magiskpolicy --live 'allow audioserver system_file file { execmod }' magiskpolicy --live 'allow mediaserver mediaserver_tmpfs file { read write execute }' magiskpolicy --live 'allow mediaserver system_file file { execmod }' magiskpolicy --live 'allow audioserver unlabeled file { read write execute open getattr }' magiskpolicy --live 'allow hal_audio_default hal_audio_default process { execmem }' magiskpolicy --live 'allow hal_audio_default hal_audio_default_tmpfs file { execute }' magiskpolicy --live 'allow hal_audio_default audio_data_file dir { search }' magiskpolicy --live 'allow app app_data_file file { execute_no_trans }' magiskpolicy --live 'allow mtk_hal_audio mtk_hal_audio_tmpfs file { execute }'

Save, reboot phone. Might need to enable legacy mode.

Advantages of staying on an older Android version...

In fact, newer Androids are getting so locked down (witness the reaction of @topjohnwu to the hardware attestation debacle in Q & R) and complicated from the user POV that I am seriously considering getting a device able to run Android 9 and holding back there...
    1
obviously the new features that came with a11 what else 😂
FYI, most custom ROMs (such as this one) already include the best features from newer Android versions. Anything in particular that you're "missing"? There is usually some Magisk module to implement it.

The advantages of staying on an older Android version: 1) more solid/stable; 2) easier to control, as many of the new restrictions have been worked around. In other words, you have a solid system that is yours to do with as you please 😉

can i flash this rom on 12.0.8 firmware or do i need to downgrade to a specific firmware?
    can be installed without downgrading.
    1
Thanks for this. I'm loving the rom already.

    Edit :

I have issues with touch screen not responding. I always have to force restart the phone. Maybe AOD could be culprit. Screen freezes whenever I switch off screen, turn on ambient display then unlocking. I'm not sure if this is a rom or kernel issue
V12.0.7.0.QJGMIXM firmware fixed that issue for me

If you have a major bug to report that has not been reported already, please take the following steps to report it to us. It will save you, Team Resurrection Remix and me quite some time.

Download the MatLog app from the Play Store.
After downloading the MatLog app, go to the app settings, and change the log level to Debug.
Clear all previous logs and take the exact steps to produce the error you are receiving. As soon as you receive the error (probably a force close), go straight into MatLog and stop the log recording.
Copy and paste the entire log either to Hastebin or Pastebin
Save the log, and copy and paste the link into the thread with a brief description of the error.

Did you manage to make Portrait shots and 64MP features work?

    Download these modules from camera.aeonax.com:

    • ANXFrameworkUnity_190.BountifulDistantHapuka

    • ANXCameraHotfix.190.BootloopFix

    Install it via magisk

Front cam fix: 'Hand Gestures' = false
