As far as performance how does this rom compares to arrow? I remember back in the Kenzo data RR was notably heavier than its counterparts due to the extra features it has but how does the current one for Surya compares?
For me, it's not about official or not, but having full control. My phone works perfectly with a solid Android version.I think this Rom is dead. But lineageos is official
Well, more eyes look over the source code. That's a good thing by official. Main problem is here the security updates.
Hello, I just wanted to write again in this thread, because I'm still hoping that the development of this Rom goes on. Unfortunately, I do not use them, since I'm now unattended to Android 11.
Unfortunately, I have not found a Rom so far, which, on the one hand, permits the highest(!) level of changes to a Rom and on the other hand almost completely renounced on Google-crap (all "Vanilla" Rom I have tested have either Google Cam or Gallery, etc.)
I know DEVs also have an RL and will not be paid for their valuable work.
That's why I just wanted to express this desire that the development of this Rome continues. Amen and thank you for 2 minutes of your attention!

I'm still on this. Reading all those A11 and A12 threads, I'm glad I stayed
. Would be nice to have someone merge in the security updates every few months. But with Adaway & Adguard + common sense, haven't had to worry 'bout security much - not as much as I would on untested quickly-pushed-out ROMs.
I agree. It is an excellent ROM. It allowed me to go without gapps and magisk/root, yet with two important features to me: auto call recording and battery charge limit, already in the ROM out of the box.
I upgraded to LineageOS only a few days ago, because I lost any hope of a new version of RR. LineageOS is an excellent ROM, but it has not those two features above, so you have to live without them unless you root the phone.
I realize that we belong to a minority: people that just want a degoogled phone and with a reasonable level of security.
I am not against Magisk: it is a valuable tool for many tinkerers wanting to use their rom of choice with google apps and/or some closed source app they need or to tailor their phone to some specific need. But I belong to the minority above, that's why this ROM was perfect for me.
As for other roms adding some closed source camera, I have to say that this rom worked not very well with open source cameras. I understand that most of the people just want to use that. I have not tried google cam, but my experience is terrible with any open source cam, with RR or lineage, so probably proprietary software for cameras is the only way to go. I realize that rom and open camera developers cannot do a lot, since cameras rely more and more (heavily) on proprietary software.
I could write much more about those problems but I would go off topic.

have somone the problem, that after lock the display, the touch not work?
i must hardreboot (push 10 sec the power button) all time the device to use it.
First I had this problem a few months ago when I charge the device, but now it is no longer usable
i found only one other guy with an X3 but on different ROM (evolution in his case)
i run current on RR v8.6.7, i will try to update on the newest version.

i have a problem i do it all as mentioned follow the instruction but the issue is it only boot to recovery twrp
here my info i use twrp 3.5.2_10-5-surya
i downloaded RROS-Q-8.6.9-20210609-surya-Official
i use poco x3 nfc
i followed Instruction in
after i faced the problem
i tried installing many versions but no luck
the sequence of booting to "system" is

1I found a thread, where they blame this behaviour on FW version 12.0.8.0, and I guess they didn't fix it in 12.0.9.0, but in one of the A11 FW updates that followed. So I'll downgrade to 12.0.7.0 and report back.

Haven't tried 12.0.8.0, but it's not global, but for EU, and from what I hear, that's where the problem originated. So I'd recommend changing the "recommended FW version" in the OP to 12.0.7.0 -

If you have a major bug to report that has not been reported already, please take the following steps to report it to us. It will save you, Team Resurrection Remix and me quite some time.
Download the MatLog app from the Play Store.
After downloading the MatLog app, go to the app settings, and change the log level to Debug.
Clear all previous logs and take the exact steps to produce the error you are receiving. As soon as you receive the error (probably a force close), go straight into MatLog and stop the log recording.
Copy and paste the entire log either to Hastebin or Pastebin
Save the log, and copy and paste the link into the thread with a brief description of the error.
