I actually just went through this process today myself. I followed the steps slothdabski wrote in his post on the previous page, but used the latest links he provided in the post right above yours.

Note that this does not root the phone. I'm now trying to figure out how to properly install Magisk to do so - the instructions for that say to patch the latest factory boot image, but since I had to use the boot image linked for this ROM would I patch that one instead? Appreciate any help someone can provide for that! I'll be looking to install EXKernel after that (I think that's the proper order?) Struggling with figuring out the right order and steps since everything has been written to assume you are using TWRP which we cannot :(
I followed those steps above to boot up bootleggers , then:
installed Magisk Manager
copied the same boot.img onto the phone
used Magisk Manager to install Magisk via "select and patch a file" method and choose boot.img
copied magisk_patched.img back to PC
then fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
rebooted, checked root and all seems happy

I'm having a difficult time with installing this. My first problem happens when I flash the boot.img. To begin with, I've flashed latest Android 9 stock image to both slots, then installed TWRP recovery, as instructed by the OP. Then I flash this boot.img as instructed and try to reboot recovery, but i consistently get this error:

Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
Rebooting into recovery FAILED (remote: 'Unsupported
reboot option reboot-recovery')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Then when I try to reflash the stock boot.img, or if I try to reinstall TWRP, the boot fails with fastboot saying that it is having a problem booting boot.img. And the only way I can fix it is to reflash the entire stock image, which adds up since it takes ten minutes to flash it to both slots every time. But what does flashing that boot.img do anyway since we've just installed TWRP, why is it necessary to additionally install another recovery boot image directly afterwards?

The second problem I'm having is that the file won't download. It has a download speed of 0 B/s, and after a while the download fails saying "server problem". Downloads of other roms don't fail so I'm wondering if there is actually a server issue? This problem happens with every version of the rom I try to download. I really don't know what to do now, it refuses to download at all. Anyone else have this problem?

This is for Android 10, you need to flash 10 images and there is no TWRP for Android 10
