When checking for updates via the ShishuOTA, the file that downloads has a name of Pie4crosshatch.4.3
I'm currently running the 4.3-Stable-Shishufied-20190903-203145 build

To anybody having issues with the app manager crashing (or crashing when uninstalling an app), and is using Google Fi or some other MVNO / e-sim, I think I've found a solution; it's remained stable for 12 days at least. @freddienuxx as well.

I had switched from AT&T to Google Fi in build (unofficial) 4.1, but I left the AT&T external sim in my device. Everything was fine until I upgraded to official 4.3, when all of the crashing started.

<speculation-time>
The crash logs indicate that, when the phone tries to archive mobile statistics, the values passed to the statistics function are negative and the function throws an error. I believe the issue is that the phone is pulling network data from both the esim and physical sim, and is trying to compare the two as if they both came from the same data source.
</speculation-time>

To fix it
  • Backup data to PC (this process shouldn't delete the internal storage, but it's nice to have a backup)
  • Remove physical sim
  • Boot to TWRP, go to Wipe > Swipe to Factory Reset (this *will* delete app data)
  • Reboot and go through startup wizard as normal
In a previous post, I mentioned the 'Accounts > "google account" > Account Sync > Fi' setting. That doesn't appear to affect anything if left on (which I did, last factory reset)

tl;dr (If using MVNO) Take physical sim out, TWRP factory reset.

First Q (queso) build is up!

http://downloads.bootleggersrom.xyz

First flash this boot.img in fastboot:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/bootleggersrom/files/builds/crosshatch/boot.img/download

Then issue command:
fastboot reboot recovery

Use volume keys to scroll and use power button to select Apply update with adb. Then on computer issue command:
adb sideload /path/to/ROM.zip

https://sourceforge.net/projects/bo...table-Shishufied-20200123-060120.zip/download

Then wipe data in recovery or in fastboot issue command:
fastboot erase userdata

Then reboot.View attachment 4933655View attachment 4933657View attachment 4933659

Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

Please help. Clean flashed and started stock ROM crosshatch-qq1a.200105.002, then booted with given boot.img. Then flashed 5.0 ROM from the recovery, then erased userdata from fastboot (tried recovery also).
Still stock ROM boots up.

Do you have any updates on this situation? I'm having the same problem. I had no idea the app manager and uninstall crashes were related to the system crashes though.

Other than what I said about removing the physical sim, no. It's remained stable for me since I did that.

I have not a clue what causes the issues. Perhaps you can try resetting the e-sim (or perhaps your physical sim, though I don't know how to do that, nor what the consequences of that would be).

Unfortunately, I don't have an e-sim, so I need the physical one. I'm not sure what you mean by resetting my physical sim. I'll look in to this some more and see if I understand it better.

I hadn't Googled whether or not "resetting" the physical sim was possible, I was going off the experience with my e-sim (so ignore that suggestion). Google seems to indicate that without a custom sim reader, you can't mess with it.

The pixel 3 xl comes with an e-sim (stands for embedded sim. I may have incorrectly called it an electronic sim). It functions a little differently to a standard sim, but you definitely have an e-sim.

Funnily enough, this last Friday, my employer now covers my cell service (through T-Mobile, with a physical sim), so now I have to go through this whole crashing business again. For temporary crashing relief, you can delete the netstats folder, either through twrp file manager, terminal, or Amaze file explorer (with root permissions). This will delete your mobile + wifi usage statistics.

After that, you make sure your cell service is through your physical sim via "Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Advanced > Carrier". Then do a network reset via "Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-fi, mobile & Bluetooth" (make sure "Also reset eSIM" is checked). This will delete all saved wifi networks, bluetooth connections, and mobile data statistics

No idea if this is a permanent solution, as I did this myself a few minutes before writing this post

Thanks for the reply. I apologise for not posting an update sooner, to be honest I forgot I left that comment.

When I said I didn't know if I had eSIM, I meant as an option from my service provider, as I recall it not being an option originally. But I too have T-Mobile and was able to make the switch, it was no help though.

You seem to have a much better understanding of this than I do, so I unfortunately don't think I'll be able to provide any information that could be of help to you in your quest to solve this.

I have since switched to another ROM, due to the fact that I had done a factor flash at one point and only afterwards discovered I didn't have the Bootlegger install file saved to my sd card, (I didn't have my computer at the time either.) I think a combination of switching to the eSIM and actually flashing (as opposed to just resetting,) the factory images sensed to fix it for me though.

Just to keep everyone up to date. Squid abandoned our team for reasons unknown. This thread will close and I will take over building in which I will start a new thread for each device, may just do a combined thread for p3/p3xl... thoughts!? I have some test builds up now for anyone looking to be on the latest and greatest PM me. Until I can make a new thread. Thanks for your patience!

that's not the way we do that here.
We boot twrp from fastboot and then flash the zip within the bootable twrp.
Flashing twrp from fastboot has not been proven to be successful.

Also, i'm back on stock now, had to use the flashall.bat :\

I just described all the steps that I used to flash the ROM and it is working for me and for the people that tested with me. You should give it a try.

Think we can possibly get this rom working on the pixel 3? I would love to test.

Yes I can build it for Pixel 3 (blueline) if you want it, I will do it when I have some spare time. :)
