Have you, or anyone else, tried Galaxy Tools from @idone on OD2 yet? *Requires Root*
This has worked well for me on NG2.

on unlocked devices?

I have an unlocked L720 that I use with a T-Mobile SIM. It is currently on NG2 radio. I tried updating it with OD2 baseband which resulted in an error message 'Invalid SIM'. Thankfully, I could odin the NG2 baseband back and everything is well. However, the questions are:

1. What is happening? Two possibilities: The OD2 handles SIMs differently OR the OD2 re-locks the unlocked phone.
2. If it re-locks the unlocked phone, how can the phone become unlocked once I downgrade to NG2?
3. If it handles the SIMs differently, do I need a different SIM to upgrade the baseband? This is a very unlikely scenario.

I am thoroughly confused at this point.

FWIW, I am running a 5.0.1 Galaxy S4 T-mobile version that has been rigged to run on L720. Very happy with this version, but will certainly switch to CM12 if/when CM12 Bluetooth starts working properly!

I just want a simple Hotspot Mod. I don't like the idea of removing SuperSU to get the GalaxyTools to work.

Before I posted the question/suggestion about GT as a possible solution for OD2's Hotspot I went over and read up on it's current status (I know, how dare I research anything before posting! :p ) I found that some are reporting it working with SuperSU and I also found idone's post HERE stating that he apparently found a fix and would try and update it the following day. That was on May 9th ;)

Posting about it was just my way of trying to help others by providing another *possible* solution for those who were having Hotspot troubles. I did this because I've been using GT's for a while now right along with SuperSU and have had no problems, but that is on NG2 and thus KitKat as I have not yet updated to OD2. Which I also mentioned that (using it on NG2) in my post.

As always it could be a risk, but then most everything here is, but perhaps trying it is the best way to find out if it will work for your device. And of course you can always ask about it over in the GT's topic ;)

3.18 did not work for me.
So, what I did was restore my old backup before lp. Used 3.15 enabled hotspot and notifications. From there I flashed lp pre rooted rom via Odin without any wipes.
SuperSU came back and it kept hotspot and notifications intact.
Zero issues and everything works.

I got that error on a metro pcs sim. I wonder if that error persists after a rom flash?

So I clean installed this ROM today. I was stock rooted NG2 previously. I haven't been able to get ViPER4Android working yet. It have SELinux set to Permissive and Busybox and FolderMount. Is anybody else having lucky with V4A? Also, am I correct that though there are Lollipop modules for Xposed, it's not possible to use Xposed with TouchWiz Lollipop ROMs at this time? If so, I think I'm going to have to Odin back to NG2 stock rooted.

No, yes, I recommend flashing the stock rooted from recovery, I would personally never try to downgrade anything with Odin since the introduction of Knox in 4.3. I have seen too many people brick. I would just flash am NG2 ROM from recovery.

I am able to go back and forth from lollipop to kitkat with no issues.
Flashed both via Odin.

I just said that I wouldn't recommend it. No point really, I just flashed an NG2 ROM in recovery and didn't have to Odin anything... maybe it was just the S3 that was that way, but that is why I'm cautious.

I also used Flashfire to flash a few and TWRP. So far no issues have popped up.
I am on lollipop but I also have a kitkat stock rom with xposed that I like to go to sometimes. Cautious isn't a bad thing.
I have bricked my fair share because I was doing some projects for the community or just because I like to test things out.. :)
