I am having issues after the 21st Jan update whereby applications that play video (Youtube, Relay for Reddit, Instagram Reels etc.) will freeze every 3-4 seconds, basically making the apps unusable.

Didn't have any issues prior to this update. Not sure how to diagnose/debug or provide more info on the issue so would love some guidance.
I dad the same issue a couple of months ago. As i remember turning off Google voice assistance helped with that

For those of you who use the acc module (possibly with AccA), what charging switch are you using? If I leave it on automatic it will drain about 10% battery in an hour after reaching 80%. That's unexpected because I enabled prioritize battery idle mode, so I would expect the phone to run on power from the charger and not from the battery after it's done charging.
So far I've only used a 9W charger and a Quick Charge 3.0 one (should be 18W), I haven't used the 33W one that came with the phone.
These are the charging switches I can select:
Code:
battery/battery_charging_enabled 1 0

battery/input_suspend 0 1

battery/step_charging_enabled 1 0

bq2597x-standalone/charging_enabled 1 0

dc/input_suspend 0 1

usb/vbus_disable 0 1

/sys/class/qcom-battery/restrict_cur 1000000 0

battery/constant_charge_current_max -22 0

dc/current_max 100000 0

main/constant_charge_current_max 2000000 0

main/current_max 2500000 0

pc_port/current_max 2500000 0

usb/current_max 2500000 0

battery/voltage_max 4480000 voltage_now

bms/constant_charge_voltage 4439948 voltage_now

main/voltage_max 4450000 voltage_ now

0 mA

250 mA

350 mA

500 mA

I'm using the ACCA app, drains 5% in ~7 hours when plugged in to 33w mi charger. I just use "Cooldown" instead of "Voltage limit". The "Test Battery Idle Mode" says the kernel not supported so I did not enable it (although dev said it can be emulated)

Maybe something else is draining your battery. Try ask here:

Maybe what's draining my battery is the "prioritize idle battery mode" as it might not be supported by the kernel, although "test battery idle mode" reported that it was supported (I'm on LineageOS 18.1, I'm asking about acc in this thread because it's the only one in this section of the forum where I could find people mentioning it).
Anyway what I meant by "charging switches" is the ones you can pick when opening a menu by clicking the circled button:

You'll have to trial and error or ask in ACC XDA section or ACC telegram group. Not sure if idle mode is culprit but the Charging switch do indeed cause CPU drain/ wakelock depending on your rom. It works fine in Auto for ArrowOS so I didn't mess with it.

I am about to install a custom ROM for the first time.
I have seen that ArrowOS has version 11 and version 12, which one should I install, which one has less bugs or which one have you seen that gave you better performance?

Ok, I'm not understanding at the moment.... I'm trying to do a recap of the situation:

1) the problem that some people have is the "ok google/hey google" feature that doesn't work (Android 11)
2) another issue is battery consumption/battery % charge lock (android 11 if I understand well)
3) some people told to us to upgrade to Android 12 from Android 11, best way is a clean flash (but hey I want to save all my data at the moment and I don't want to wipe everything), but dirty flash from adb is still a solution
4) I don't understand if the first 2 issues are linked to the new MIUI firmware release by Xiaomi and that we must flash on our device to solve these issues (or solve the first one and have the second one)

Is there something wrong?
Can anybody tell me something that make sense please?
quoting my post.... at the moment I still have "ok google" issue that doesn't work in no way, please help

Same here, tried everything. Reinstalled Google, flashed different firmwares, disabled all battery saving features/apps, adb sideload different firmwares with different recovery and fastboot, dirtyflash rom update, etc..

I think I'm gonna have to clean reflash.

I had this exact issue with the 21st Jan update, and a firmware update to V12.5.4.0.RKHMIXM fixed it for me.

(It took 2 hours to download)

Installed from PC using sideload:

Using this ROM as my daily driver and also as gaming ROM. I haven't faced any issues till now. Best ROM. Thank you developer. I wish I could donate but right now I'm unemployed. I'll donate as soon as I'll get the job, haha.

This ROM is as laggy as MIUI on PUBG. Not recommended for PUBG players. CRDroid is just way better and comes with 90 FPS enabled. CRDoid also has a lot more customization.

I was on MIUI 12.5.5 global. Then now on crDroid 7.15. with TWRP 3.6.0 nebrassy
Can I directly flash this rom using TWRP?
  • flash arrowos (toggle auto flash twrp)
  • reboot recovery
  • flash Magisk (no auto toggle needed)
  • format
  • boot system
or how is the proper way?

I've been using this ROM for a few weeks and it's great but I noticed a couple of things and have tried to fix them.

The phone doesn't always go into full suspend mode because there's an misconfigured interrupt from the always on processor.
    This should fix it:
    https://github.com/dzo/android_kernel_xiaomi_alioth/commit/7ee79cda883ec09c69ba03d18d1be34291077442

The display doesn't go into low power mode when the always on display is enabled. There's also a clock with the wrong name in the device tree.
Here's a quick fix for both those things:
    https://github.com/dzo/android_kernel_xiaomi_alioth/commit/8ac729b52ea721a419b5dd7f21eaa829675b925b

Attached is a zip containing a new boot.img and also a new dtbo.img, the dtbo isn't really necessary but I updated it to match the panel settings in the stock MIUI tree. In a dark room, the always on display might be quite bright but it's actually using less power than it used to.

You can check the power usage with the display off by connecting adb over wifi and looking for lines like this in the kernel messages:

    <12>[ 309.495162] healthd: battery l=78 v=4129 t=31.5 h=2 st=3 c=40039 fc=4568000 cc=14 chg=

It's the c= number that's important, this is the power consumption. With the display off it's about 17K, with the display in low power mode it's about 40K and without my fixes it was over 100K with AOD on.

flash from fastboot (not recovery) with:

    fastboot flash boot boot.img
    fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img

This boot.img is patched with magisk, has root and should pass safetynet.

You can also try the kernel out using:

    fastboot boot boot.img

Unplug usb quickly after it says it's booting or it will just show a charging icon. This won't modify your system, just reboot to go back to the original kernel.

All this should be quite stable but because the system wasn't previously going into suspend it might show up other bugs in some drivers. Use at your own risk!
