Thanks, I found your post but in my initial question a few pages back I explained that I don't have root (and don't really want it) so I cannot do this. That's why I asked of this can also be fixed with an ota or something.

If not, I'll have to choose if I want root and volte or no root and no volte..
I don't believe there is another way without root. But I'm not an expert 😅

edit: You can also root, make the changes, and unroot

I hope this helps a bit. I am using the default dialer aswell (Google Phone).
Thanks, that helps. I have the same settings (at least, the universal ones) and that looks good, so i don't think it has to do with any settings here.

As someone else already said, i think it has to do with a modem thing and for now the only solution seems to root the phone and update some firmware.

-----------------

Thanks both! i'll guess i'm going to investigate the root method. I was hopeing that the ArrowOS dev could maybe fix the issue but apparantly that's not worth waiting for.

Does someone know how to add Dolby Atmos support like in the stock Xiaomi ROM ? It's really a missing feature, and after checking flashing guides on this it seems that it requires TWRP to work, while I currently have the ArrowOS recovery.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance for your help :) !

If you have root and use magisk, you can install it through modules afaik. Viper is better imo but you need to customize it first before using it.

Anyway is it possible to add long/scrolling screenshot a built in feature instead of using magisk modules? It's such a shame to not have this feature when needed and kinda laggy using the magisk one.

Oh so it's not possible to install the Dolby Atmos module without rooting the phone? Cause I absolutely don't want to root it, so if you know another way to install this please tell me :)

Hello once again Thank you for this great build. I am on the latest build and accidentally today I used my:
Charger , That provided me with an exceptional charging rate better than the provided charger. Thought sharing this with all of you.

Could you check the settings under Network and Internet > Mobile Network and tell me which Preferred network type, system select, cdma subscription you are using?

Otherwise i have no clue why this doesn't work for me. My guess is the OS doesn't work well with my provider (KPN) but why i have no idea.

All i can say is that i can reliably replicate the problem by enabling VoLTE/VoWifi. The moment that is turned on, any incoming calls are Unkown.

I am using the default phone app btw.
I'm not sure if incoming calls were shown as unknown, but back then when I had VoWifi enabled, the calls itself were really buggy.

Btw : I would also like to see smart charing coming again. It always worked really great, so you could re add it device-specific maybe?

I'm experiencing random crashes which seem to happen more consistently while not connected to Wi-Fi at home. First installed the July 9th build with GApps and then did OTA update to July 24th build. The problem has been experienced on both builds. Phone is mostly stable while at home on Wi-Fi but does still crash the odd time but not as frequently (likely when it loses Wi-Fi signal). I kept getting crashes at a store today until I could get connected to their Wi-Fi and things were stable again.

Code:

Hi everyone,

I install ArrowOS a few days ago and I don't understand something. I don't authorize some applications to run in background but when I look to the statics the application still run in background. Some can explain me why ?

No matter you restrict it, it will run in background to receive notification. It happens to app with realtime notification.

I've been using this ROM for a few weeks and it's great but I noticed a couple of things and have tried to fix them.

The phone doesn't always go into full suspend mode because there's an misconfigured interrupt from the always on processor.
    This should fix it:
    https://github.com/dzo/android_kernel_xiaomi_alioth/commit/7ee79cda883ec09c69ba03d18d1be34291077442

The display doesn't go into low power mode when the always on display is enabled. There's also a clock with the wrong name in the device tree.
Here's a quick fix for both those things:
    https://github.com/dzo/android_kernel_xiaomi_alioth/commit/8ac729b52ea721a419b5dd7f21eaa829675b925b

Attached is a zip containing a new boot.img and also a new dtbo.img, the dtbo isn't really necessary but I updated it to match the panel settings in the stock MIUI tree. In a dark room, the always on display might be quite bright but it's actually using less power than it used to.

You can check the power usage with the display off by connecting adb over wifi and looking for lines like this in the kernel messages:

    <12>[ 309.495162] healthd: battery l=78 v=4129 t=31.5 h=2 st=3 c=40039 fc=4568000 cc=14 chg=

It's the c= number that's important, this is the power consumption. With the display off it's about 17K, with the display in low power mode it's about 40K and without my fixes it was over 100K with AOD on.

flash from fastboot (not recovery) with:

    fastboot flash boot boot.img
    fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img

This boot.img is patched with magisk, has root and should pass safetynet.

You can also try the kernel out using:

    fastboot boot boot.img

Unplug usb quickly after it says it's booting or it will just show a charging icon. This won't modify your system, just reboot to go back to the original kernel.

All this should be quite stable but because the system wasn't previously going into suspend it might show up other bugs in some drivers. Use at your own risk!
