If you have a newer device (made after June?July? 2020) you'll probably have issues with cameras. We have newer hardware onboard for which the source from REDMI hasn't been released yet, or if it has, it hasn't been put into the ROM yet. It may come in future updates.
I recommend trying some other cameras.
Open Camera isn't too bad (still no front cam support yet though)

Quick question:
I have a CFW rom installed right now, how do I migrate? Do I need to flash an entire MIUI 12 Install or is a firmware like this enough? Do I need a new recovery?
And can you add a quick note for former CFW users to the install instructions?
Thank you!

Hi people,
So first of all: the ROM is amazing and I really love it, it runs way quicker than anything I've had on CFW. However, it often freezes while multitasking and the RAM usage by the compositor is very high. I have attached an HTOP screenshot using su and Termux, I know my way around the command line but not around Android OS/Kernel stuff. If I can get you any other logs to help improve this please let me know!

Redmi Note 8 Pro
The best rom for Note 8 Pro at the moment with performance and stability, the new UI and customizations are beautiful, I am running games and applications without problems so far. I hope it will be updated frequently.

Just wanna inform something....
1.Safety Net passes by default
2.Safety Net passed with magisk hide
3.Safety Net fails with edxposed install
4.Enabled applist mode and edxposed hide but safety net still fails... Couldn't figure out how to pass it.

Great rom otherwise but I'm gonna switch since i need both edxposed and safety net passed.

It'd be great if this issue is resolved...

Flash MIUI 12 fast boot firm
Flash Unified TWRP you can find it here
Flash the ROM and Gapps (I would suggest NikGapps)
Format data and reboot to system :)

Happy flashing!

Hello I was coming from MIUI 12.0.70, tried to follow this guide but got stucked into bootloop. Managed to reflash MIUI with SP Flash tool and reflashed Unified TWRP.

Tried again and same problem, so back again to MIUI and Unified TWRP.
How can I proceed from here?

Are you sure you formatted data after flashing the rom? Not wipe.

In the settings, under customization, there's a Navbar Pill setting under the system section. You can hide it with that.

    What's working?
    Code:
    - Camera - Camcorder : Working - all camera sensors
    - Sensors : Working

Are you sure the Front Camera works on the newer hardware versions??
I don't see any specific Kernel commits that would indicate the problem is now resolved unless your own kernel versions has updated/ported the camera driver ?
Please bare us newer device owners in mind when releasing firmwares and state in the OP if the firmware supports our device's camera or not.
Great work and THANKS! for supporting this great phone 👏👏

There is MediaTek/Mi kernel source for the s5k3t2 using sunny or ofilm lenses but maybe they could work with other lenses IDK maybe some trial and error is needed. s5k3t2sunnymipiraw & s5k3t2ofilmmipiraw https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Ke...ivers/misc/mediatek/imgsensor/src/common/v1_1

Cool DotOS is always my favorite, gonna install it. But I'm currently on CFWv4.

Do I need to go back to MIUI first (by using SP FLASH tool and do full flash) ??
Also, do I need to install non-CFW recovery ??
What else I need to install ??
Flash MIUI 12 fast boot firm
Flash Unified TWRP you can find it here
Flash the ROM and Gapps (I would suggest NikGapps)
