Hi! I am very happy with dotos! Thanks to all developers!
Everything's working except Location.
- I installed dotos ( dotOS-R-v5.0.1-begonia-OFFICIAL-20210415-0819.zip )
- I installed NikGapps ( NikGapps-basic-arm64-10-20210514-signed.zip )
E.g. Gmaps, Osmand,... cannot find a location. In the app "GPS Status", I can switch from location source fused to gps. Then I can see GPS coordinates (so GPS is working on the device). But nothing changes in other apps.
I tried every dotos setting (Off, Sensors Only, High Accuracy, Battery Saving).
The app "Fused Location" (which I assume is responsible for fused location) has Permission to access the location. It drained suspiciously 33% of battery since last full change.
Any ideas on what to change? It's a fresh dotos installation with Magisk (and magisk hide set for all google apps).
event.log shows:
Code:
I/auditd ( 793): type=1400 audit(0.0:9): avc: denied { call } for comm="mtk_agpsd" scontext=u:r:mtk_agpsd:s0 tcontext=u:r:system_suspend:s0 tclass=binder permissive=0
I am looking forward for any help!
Best, Jan
I solved it by reinstalling DotOS, Gapps, Magisk. Not sure why it works now.

Anyone updated to 5.1 yet? Looking for opinions and the process behind it, don't wanna deal with bootloop again and having to wipe my data.

Its still bootlooping, i've tried older versions like 5.0.1 with no luck too, don't flash!
I had a bootloop on 5.0.1 also, but flashing magisk after gapps before the initial boot fixed it. The problem was encrypted storage coming from MIUI 12. Currently only problem is I'm experiencing random crashes of random apps, media wise. only when music/video is on, sometimes the whole system UI crashes

Just did a clean flash (and installed Magisk) and I have one issue:
Whenever I want to enter the "App Info" screen for any app, the whole SystemUI crashes.
Logcat is spammed with all sorts of messages. what should I filter for?

EDIT: patched the wrong boot.img. should've used the one from DotOS

Camera is not working and i get crashes all over the place and it's always the composer dying (see below) I had this on POSP as well, but since this rom is effectively unusable for me I'm suspecting a botched flash

I was on CFW so I did the following:
  1. Flashed MIUI12 trhough fastboot
  2. Flashed BlackCat TWRP
  3. Flashed ROM
  4. Formatted Data
  5. Installed Magisk
  6. Patched Boot.img from the MIUI rom
  7. Flashed patched Boot
Where Did I go wrong?

What have you done so far?
Unlocked and installed TWRP?
If not, follow step 1 and 2 here >

....then install the ROM using the instructions in the first post of this thread.
Make sure you format the data partition, not wipe.

No, he installed twrp from fastboot and them flashed ROM from twrp. I suppose it's ok coming from miui 12.

The video he posted was using fastboot to install MIUI. Not really related to installing a custom ROM via TWRP.

Been using the rom for 4 days now without gapps and it has been awesome so far, everything from the feel to the battery life. Unfortunately i can't use the selfie camera since i have the "new" sensor, I've heard that the selfie works fine on pixel experience and I was wandering if it will be made to work here as well. I don't really use selfie cameras but it's good to have it working nonetheless.

Srry, forgot that I found it on Telegram .

Thanks for that, but I'm looking for a current rom. The most recent Zeus seems to be the May release. I currently have a June release installed (different rom)

Ok, thanks. I'll check it out. I wonder why it's not on XDA...

    Code:
    - Camera - Camcorder : Working - all camera sensors

Are you sure the Front Camera works on the newer hardware versions??
I don't see any specific Kernel commits that would indicate the problem is now resolved unless your own kernel versions has updated/ported the camera driver ?
Please bare us newer device owners in mind when releasing firmwares and state in the OP if the firmware supports our device's camera or not.
Great work and THANKS! for supporting this great phone 👏👏

There is MediaTek/Mi kernel source for the s5k3t2 using sunny or ofilm lenses but maybe they could work with other lenses IDK maybe some trial and error is needed. s5k3t2sunnymipiraw & s5k3t2ofilmmipiraw https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Ke...ivers/misc/mediatek/imgsensor/src/common/v1_1
