I'm on MIUI 12.5.4 Global Stable (Never flashed xiaomi.eu or any other rom)

Can I just flash DerpFest? Or I need to switch to xiaomi.eu or CN stable?

Flashed ROM, works very smooth.
One thing I noticed

Settings -> Derp Quest -> Enable navigation bar

When this thing is turned off
Navigation bar is gone, but side gesture does not work (swipe from left / right), only swipe from bottom is working

Not big deal for me, I'll use Edge Gesture

If not mistake and knowing from previous device I use with derp that option when turn off is supposed to kill your navigation gestures, it's intended to be use with other apps that's modified gestures like FGN.

Everything is stable so far.
Since I use a lot Twitter (default app) and Infinity for reddit, I can notice scroll performance issues.
Infinity was super smooth on MIUI. Now I see frame rate drops / rendering issues on DerpFest.

Gmail performs same as on MIUI
Scroll acceleration is different than MIUI, maybe that cause problems.

Check the refresh rate and set the preferred refresh rate to either 120 or 90 With minimum at 90

One more thing I noticed, on dark backgrounds, let's say browsing XDA with chrome / brave
Every 10 seconds panel slightly changes background to lighter gray than it goes back to darker gray, screen flicker for 1 second, tried to record this but it's not visible on screen recording.

Not sure if this is related to screen refresh rate or something else.

Effect is similar to True tone display on Macbook, where colors are adjusted based on environment.

I had the same problem on LOS and EvolutionX. On DerpFest, I no longer see this problem. I just force refresh rate to 120Hz. And automatic brightness is more fluid with DerpFest (imo)

First day/night of use.
It can be daily use at the moment. Really.
Everything is smooth. Highly customizable. No random reboot, no problem with the screen.
Only 2 apps doesn't work : Roborock and Paypal

Magisk/safetynet OK and GPay OK

1 "problem" but i will see in 1 week : 9% battery drain during the first night.
Wifi / 4G / BT ON / 120Hz forced.
No indication on battery drain. Gsam is now running to find the "problem"

    Hey guys,

just to make sure: is NFC (Google Pay) working in the current build? It was reported as broken in some posts but not (anymore?) in OP?

If yes: is Magisk needed to make it work?

I would like to make the switch from MIUI but working GPay and other banking apps like N26 are essential for me...
I can use NFC just fine in latest build. Had to use MagiskHide and some other stuff so my bank's app allowed me to use wireless payment and so on, but it does work.

Only thing that doesn't work for me is 'Hey Google' as some other user mentioned recently. Other minor inconveniences are some visual bugs in lock screen (very rarely though). Everything else works great.

Also, if you're used to MIUI camera app, you'll be a bit disappointed. It's one of the few things that I miss about it, even if you use GCAM it doesn't feel the same.

Anyone know why I get an error when flashing magisk? "

    Couldn’t Find meta-inf/com/google/android/update-binary

    "
I just find a solution, you need to download the magisk.apk and rename it to magisk.zip then continue with the sideload installation

is it good? bro? no bugs? good for daily use?
I have been running the Rom for almost a day with all my apps, phone calls etc. The ROM is perfect for daily use if you don't mind:
NFC: seems to be broken,( I use my watch for gpay so I don't mind that bug) and double tap to wake doesn't work.
For the rest it has some small glitches sometimes with UI like apps reload but is not common.
I just bought this device and before I had a OnePlus 7t which I ran derpfest on for months and it is as good as on that device and faster.
Also if you play any games like COD, Max settings will be unlocked and the device won't get hot either.
QHD works great you have the selection of 60,90,120 HZ REFRESH RATE etc.
The Rom is full of customization and it's responsive

So to make things short, yes the Rom is good, better said great it has some small bugs mentioned before but nothing big, forget about the sluggish MIUI this devices is super charged with this ROM.
Also make sure to use Wichaya gcam 8.1 It will work perfect for the Rom and device.

I'm rooted with magisk using the following mods James dsp, ainur narsil and audio modification mods. All great
