I've asked on Telegram already, but is there anyone else facing an issue with OTA updtates draining mobile data? I am, and the trails are leading to an app called OTA_UPDATE with an UID of 1061. I was however unable to identify that app, and therefore I'm unable to freeze or remove the process. I assume the issue is not crDroid-related and probably all LOS forks suffer from this (or maybe the problem is in AOSP, who knows). Is there anyone having any thoughts on this?

Have you tried to restrict internet (or only mobile) access by AFWall+?

I think I've found a possible workaround here in Pixel Experience's forum. Try adding

ota-cache1.googlezip.net
ota.googlezip.net

to your hosts file (I'm using Adaway, so I've just created a personal list in the "Blocked" section by tapping on the big add button and typing the host name. After some hours of testing there I've found a highly possible connection between the traffic under the above mentioned hostnames and the leaking data, I've noticed, that Settings/Network and internet/Cellular/Data usage provided data usage grows only when these hosts are allowed.

Please report any experience regarding this method!

Try to figure out what app uses the most battery either by looking at Battery statistics in the Settings or by installing a monitoring app like Better Battery Stats.

Seems to be the pocket protection in the settings and within the cam app. After disabling it is a lot better. But the google play services are on top with 14% of all apps (gsam) . And how can I see the text of messages if I siwipe down from the statusbar. I only can see the icons and have to swipe up to see the text

i deactivated every sensor and activated additionally data save mode. that stopps background activity for most apps.

1. Swipe to wake the device is not working, I always have to use the keys or double tab the display.
2. Is it possible to skip the lockscreen and go directly to the security pin when there aare no notifications
3. Is there an app/module to add my wifi as a safe/secure zone, the one I found can't see my ssid - Tried it with macrodroid without success with> wifi active, ssid connected, unlock screen

I had the same problem with this rom, after disabling pocket protection in the settings and within the cam app, it si better.

Well it was better for one day, last night it drop from 77% to 42% in 5 hours. Doing nothing. I tried GSAM Battery, but I can't figure out what eats my battery

Dark screen, wifi and bluetooth off. Just received a whatsapp massege in the night

• Wipe system, vendor, cache, dalvik, data
• Flash Rom, Gapps & Magisk (optional)
• Flash latest android 10 firmware
• Reboot

Yeah it's just a few hours ago, man, just few hours. Wait for official announcement cuz things take time sometimes and people have lives. More research can be done on TG

So I ordered a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. I plan on putting CrDroid 8 on it, which runs on Android 12.

This likely means I have to update Android 12 firmware on it, which is codenamed Biloba, will this work if the device is Gingko?
