After one week of usage, i have some mixed feelings about this rom.

First of all, it is running much smoother than OOS (oxygen marketing fail - smoooooth? not!), so far nothing crashed, it is really stable. Also fingerprint sensor works fine without any issue.

Then some bugs are annoying me, similar bugs as i saw long time ago with 1+1, 1+X, 1+3T phones.
- ghost home gesture/button (while typing, keyboard and bubble minimizes) feels like going back to 2014 issues,
- screen orientation is too sensitive (app opens in landscape mode with phone tilted way less than 45°),
- display brightness has kind of strange scale, mostly is on 100%, also indoor, but outside in the shadow with strong daylight goes under 50%,
- miracast drops connection after few minutes, magisk miracast enabler module does a boot loop. Ungreyed screen cast button without wifi would be great.
- camera sometimes makes a photo (it makes the animation), but it is not saved

Comparing this rom to 1+3T Havoc 3.8, it feels like a step back, that rom was probably the best I ever used (daily using miracast with sygic running, the only rom that didn't freeze if u turned off screen while miracasting - also OOS11 on 8T freezes -.-).

I don't have any other problems in use. This is the most comfortable ROM I've ever used, but the automatic brightness is brighter in the darker ring. There is no pocket anti touch function. I often touch it by mistake when I put it in my pocket

Hi, I'm new on OP 8T, former OP 3 oowner.

I have some questions and wasn't able to find them so easily.

1) I've read the installation instructions, do I have to unlock OEM Bootloader before?

- Check, yes as in prior Mobile Phone

2) Is it needed to root device before applying this ROM?

3) If Nr. 2, then MAGISK method?

4) Is unoffcial TWRP recommended, maybe just for NANDROID only?

Thanks a lot for helping me.

Cheers,
Duncan

Wich GAPPS recommended? OpenGapps 11?

Lots of questions. Gapps are included. Always make sure you are on the latest OOS. Ofcourse you need to oem unlock bootloader, otherwise you wont be able to flash a custom rom.

You can use adb sideload via recovery to flash rom, first fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and then reboot to recovery. Then adb sideload.

Seems to work for me.

EDIT: Actually maybe not? Playing HDR videos on YouTube Vanced seemingly break the brightness until you restart the device. Which in turn also breaks the color calibration and causes the fingerprint scanner to stop reading.

Every custom ROM I've tried has HDR playback issues. Havoc OS is the only one where, if you have your color space set to "Saturated", it doesn't cause the low brightness/green tint issue when trying to view HDR video. However for this ROM, the HDR option for my PS5 remote play app is not available, whereas it is for other ROMs, so I am curious what the findings/differences are on HDR for this ROM.

Oh, I use natural and that's what happened to me.

Does anyone know if this ROM supports dual sim (such as one T-mobile sim and one Verizon sim)? Thanks very much

Hello. I've got issues when installing this ROM on OP8 Pro, please help (or tell me where I did wrong).
View attachment 5414129

PS: when performing fastboot reboot, it always goes into recovery, and from there I need to to to bootloader by selecting it from the menu

PSS: a link or flow on how to revert this would also be very appreciated
You should be using fastboot tools and when you fastboot reboot fastboot.
You will be using fastboot on recovery.
P.s simple fastboot will not work.
You need to read directions.

it seems that I did a couple of things the wrong way.
first of all, I haven't performed flashing of OOS on both slots (unless it's done automatically during OEM update)
second of all, I should have performed the boot and dtbo flashing in recovery, is that what you are saying?

Yes should be flashed in the recovery fastboot.
You also need fastboot tools
aren't fastboot tools installed automatically with ADB? I mean I've installed ADB using chocolatey, and it seems to be installed

I suspect the other Havoc Features will come when its official.
I agree if it stays same as PE then there is no point in having it

Being as PE Plus isn't out, there is a lot more to Havoc. Both are great roms. There are differences, such as kernel. Each has its own optimizations. Everyone should be happy to have more choices for the OP 8 series.
