I am also having the boot loop issues and I wanted to give some more notes I collected.
The boot-loops are random, even when the phone is idle (not in use)

One way for me to get out of the boot-loop, is to enter "TWRP" and then from there "Reboot to System"

Sometimes to get into "TWRP" (holding the "up" volume), while on the "TWRP" splash screen, it will still continue to boot-loop. (Weird)

To get into "TWRP" properly, I need to interrupt the boot-loop (I can't use one of the boots from the boot-loops). Successfully managed to do it after a few times using "up volume and power button".

Is it difficult to downgrade to 7.16? Do we need to do a clean install?

Is it a hardware piece that I can get repaired or replace myself?
Or was your response a "don't know, might be hardware..."
Or should I do a fresh clean install and see if that fixes it? (@jomadeto mentioned to reinstall gApps)

Tried a clean install, didn't work.
I also completely wiped everything and started 7.17 from scratch, still loop.
I am trying @Huexxx 's ProtonAOSP Rom to see if that has the bootloop, if it does then I will try crDroid agian. but 7.16
If that still doesn't work, then new phone

I did an advanced wipe of everything (Dalvik, Cache, System, Vendor, Data, Internal Storage)
I am now trying to capture logs for when it happens. (Very difficult, when I don't know when it will happen)

Not wipe but format ( you have to type YES to do it)

I have the same problem. Clean installation after wiping everything and formated (typed yes).
Phone reboots to recovery.

Update:

I finally installed it with adb sideload :
adb sideload c:\files\crDroidAndroid-11.0-20220414-chiron-v7.17.zip
adb sideload c:\files\FlameGApps-11.0-basic-arm64-20220412.zip

Has anyone tried this rom with Zygisk or Zygisk + LSPosed?

Edit: crDroid 7.18 + Magisk 25.1 + Zygisk working just fine. Using Orangefox 11.2
Edit2: Using LSPosed + Shamiko + Denylist Unmount just fine.
