How to update AICP via OTA preserve TWRP recovery and magisk root & magisk settings and modules
0. THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL!
Remove your PIN/pattern/password on your device.
(I have not tested with no removing password but latest twrp should manage encryption now, so if you are not removing password/PIN/pattern should be okay...However i have not tested yet. I recommend remove all password/PIN/patternbefore you are doing anything. But the choiche is yours...)
1. Make sure you have twrp installer .zip and magisk.zip on your internal storage.
2. Perform the OTA update. Once you see Reboot DO NOT reboot!! Open Magisk Manager.
3. On Magisk Manager go to modules and select Install from Storage. Select the twrp installer zip and flash it.
4. On Magisk Manager click on Install and select "Install to Inactive Slot (After OTA)" and select the magisk.zip and flash it.
5. Reboot your device. Once you have succesfully booted into the updated AICP reboot again into recovery. You should get TWRP recovery again, it means installer .zip has been succesfully applied. Now you can flash gapps and addons and whatever you want.
6. Reboot into system. Set it back your password/PIN/pattern.
7. Reboot AGAIN!!
8. Done

Just thought I'd throw my hat in the ring since I'm giving this rom a whirl.
I also had the same issues flashing via ADB, the Error 7. I didn't feel like flashing 7 or 8 img's extracted out of the payload so I just switched over to running it through TWRP, which worked perfectly.
This was coming from another custom rom, Carbon, and yes I ran the factory reset through the provided recovery image first. Then rebooted back to recovery before attempting the flash, so it was clean.
I also used the partition copy script provided by Lineage after flashing the ROM and gapps, just because I like to be thorough.
Aside from the issue flashing via ADB, the rom has been very stable and fast. Battery seems good so far as well. I appreciate the massive amount of customization available.
I haven't had a chance to try Android Auto yet, i saw some people mention issues. I'll report back hopefully later today on that.

No issues with Android Auto, plays through my speakers without issue first try. I use "Musicolet" for tunes and "Pocket Casts" for podcasts. I have Pandora and LivexLive as well but didn't test those two.
I will note that if you look at the phone, the media notification does say "Phone Speaker" but as far as I know thats normal when using wired AA, the OS is suppose to detect the cable and re-route audio.
My rig is a 2019 Chevy Traverse for head unit reference.

Looking for some information on an issue with what I assume is a LOCK timeout setting in this ROM, NOT screen timeout.
So normally with all other ROM I've tried as well as stock, When you've got a PIN set, and Fingerprints registered, every so often (maybe once a day, or every other day) the phone will require the PIN to unlock instead of using your fingerprints. The same happens upon reboot, you have to enter you pin, no big deal.
This also has continued to function normally when using my smart watch as a "trusted device", which keeps the phone unlocked for about 4 hours before once again asking for my fingerprint, and then after a day or so the PIN again.
However with AICP after I added my smart watch as a trusted device the phone NEVER asks for my fingerprint any longer. After 4 hours it will ALWAYS ask for the pin, as if the fingerprints registered don't exist.
I've messed with the "Power button instantly locks" setting under Security but that didn't seem to make a difference. I've looked over the AICP Extras as well but nothing appeared to deal with this issue.
I've done some research and I believe this might be a build.prop option i can modify, but i'm not sure. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I face issue with WhatsApp camera its weird have to tilt my phone a bit to get my selfie properly no idea also I need to know if we can change grid size in app drawer.

I have no info on WhatsApp as I don't use it myself, sorry.
As far as the grid size for the app drawer though, you cannot change that. You can modify the home screen grid, (Hold on the home screen > select "Styles & Wallpapers" > Then there will be a "Grid" option, bottom middle), but not the App Drawer.
The devs recommend using another launcher if you need/want to modify the App Drawer grid.

Thanks a ton for responding really appreciate the concern. One more issue I came across that is camera app 48 mega pixel not working also macro lense not working shuts down the camera app, any fix for that?
He's right, when i attempt to switch to 48MP on the included cam app it crashes the app. I'm running the latest build from Dec 28th.
I also don't use that cam though, I personally use a variation of gCAM. I don't actually see an option to flip to 48MP in that app though for testing.
unfortunately I'm not in a spot I can provide logs atm either.
The Discord server for AIPC is fairly active @houstontaxi, and has a bug report channel. Maybe post in there as well for a faster response.

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS), we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and then changed to be based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
We changed again for Android Q-R with a base of AOSP repositories and some additions from LineageOS for device-specific repositories.
If there are any bugs we will sort them out if it concerns our codebase. This ROM isn't LineageOS supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!

FAQ:
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android R. You don't need to install any Add-ons, simply download the latest ROM and GApps, then follow the flashing instructions and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM zip file.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine though.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
On Clean Flash: mandatory for first install !!!
At the beginning, if you are on Stock OOS 11 ROM with locked bootloader, please follow the instructions for unlocking bootloader here: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/kebab/install
1. Download the ROM and GApps to your PC with proper adb & fastboot setup.
Also download to your PC kebab-recovery.img from HERE
2. Boot to bootloader and run in cmd (windows) / terminal (linux)
fastboot flash recovery kebab-recovery.img
4. Boot to recovery. Tap on Factory Reset (this will erase everything on your device) then return to main menu
3. Connect your device to your PC and tap on Apply Update -> Apply from ADB and
4. Flash the ROM zip file using
adb sideload aicp_kebab_r-16.1-WEEKLY-{date}.zip
5. Once its finished, reboot to recovery to flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work). This is mandatory becoz will switch automatically current slot and will flash GAPPS.
Once it boots to recovery, tap on Apply Update -> Apply from ADB then run
adb sideload GAPPS.zip
6. Reboot and set up your device.
7. Reboot back into recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
The main workflow for flashing via recovery:
The procedure may vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once! This might differ on AvB Devices.
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 21.4 don't usually need to be flashed on every dirty flash.
Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise, you should be fine.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
Go to Aicp Extras -> Update Centre then install new Weekly Build.
