I followed the instructions perfectly but every time I format data in TWRP (3.5.2_11) after I flash, the ROM doesn't boot (It only boots back into TWRP again) and my internal storage gets hosed and MTP doesn't work in TWRP afterwards requiring another MiFlash back to stock. I tried flashing about 4 times with the same results.

EDIT: Nevermind. I followed these steps:
Installed ROM zip
Rebooted TWRP
Flashed Gapps Magisk
Factory Reset then Formatted Data
Had to install Core Gapps as there wasn't enough space in system to install Standard
Working on new version to fix gapps issue - for now only core/basic will do.

You rebooted between flash

You flashed Gapps after reboot?
Regarding instructions it should before but I'm not sure if it it just forgotten to mention in instructions.

Btw there is a bug in instructions. Reboot before format data is needed even no flash of magisk. In instructions the reboot is part of optional.

Hello everyone.

A few days have passed, since I installed the crDroid rom and I must admit that I love it, after several years playing only miui it has been a rediscovery to go back to aosp, where everything works so well.

This ROM is a marvel, especially in terms of customization, since it allows you to touch and modify a multitude of settings, as I like it.

I only have 3 doubts, let's see if @raystef66 @GtrCraft @immi803 @jomadeto or another partner of the forum can help me.

1º Can the AOD be configured so that it connects and disconnects automatically, at certain times?

I have searched and looked through all the settings, but I have not been able to do it.

2º Can a type of AOD be chosen, so that it moves around the screen and is not fixed and static always in the same place (in the style of the rom miui)? Nor have I seen an option for it in settings.

3rd Is there no quick access icon, when you lower the status bar, to select it and put the mobile in silent mode?

I see two icons that can be touched and change mode, but they always go from normal mode, to vibrator and from there to do not disturb mode.

But I don't want to activate the do not disturb mode, I want the silent mode, but to continue receiving notifications (and to be notified by the watch that I have connected by bluetooh to my mobile).

I do not know if I have explained myself well. There are 3 little things, that I don't know if they are implemented (I think that the 1st and 3rd are easy to implement and in fact, I am surprised not to have seen them). And if they are not, I encourage the developer or group of developers to implement it in future updates of the rom, since surely many more people may be interested and would take advantage of it.

I said, I hope your help.

Thank you very much for all the work and development of the rom and for continuing to update it periodically and improve it.

Postscript, I have seen that there is a new update :)

To install it dirty, for those of us who already have the rom previously installed, configured everything well, with its GApps and running everything perfectly on our phones (and we don't need to have Magisk), it would be:
- copy rom etc. to internal or use OTG
- flash rom (inject twrp checked)
- boot into system and ENJOY!

Thanks and best regards!

Yes, try Digital Wellness from Google, there you can set the time to the AOD, specially at night.

In the AOSP ROMs, the AOD works different that MIUI in this aspect. The AOD moves a little every day, you can try changing the month of your device, and check the AOD position :)

Strange... But I can't help you with this one :(

Thank you very much for your answers and help.

Even so, I cannot configure the AOD to turn off even with the Digital Wellness from Google application.

In the end, I will have to manually return it every night and activate it in the morning, because I don't see another solution (unless it is implemented natively in the rom in the future).

I was interested that the AOD was moving, even if it was little, every so often, because I do not like that it remains fixed (before a possible screen burn in the future). Hope you can implement such feature in future too.

The thing about not being able to silence from the quick settings (I do not mean do not disturb mode), is a mystery.
So, for what I can see, you are using this ROM with AOD on, right? How about the battery drain? How much SOT are you getting?

Regarding your question, I still have a few days with the rom, to make a fair analysis. It gives me the impression that it spends more than the Xioami.EU version it came from, but nothing alarming.

At night, if I turn off the AOD, I think it drops about 1% battery every hour. If I leave the AOD on overnight, the battery burns out badly, I don't recommend it (hence why I would like to automate the AOD).

I said, thank you very much for your comments.

I would like that the developer / s of the rom, could tell me something, in reference to the questions that I raise.

IMO, 1% per hour is a massive drain

Compared with other roms, stock, miui.eu, arrow .. It doesn't seem like a bad consumption to me, really.

Keep in mind, that by habit, I usually leave everything activated at night: NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, notifications, etc.

I imagine that if I restricted all that, it would lower me still more slowly, but it does not worry me too much (for my use, I understand that others do).

That I go down 6-7% in the whole night, with a couple of minutes plugged into the charger, I have already recovered it.

It doesn't compensate me to go around touching settings and deactivating things.

Of course, the AOD is criminal to leave it at night, there if I recognize it

Not want to be the devil's advocate, but I got 0% drop with wifi & 4G, notification on, sync on,... over about 8h per night, with MIUI Indo.

well, I am on sep 19th and I've tried from updater but it fc when I click install.
I've tried from twrp : wipe dalvik and then install zip and reboot system and ended back in twrp.
Then I rebooted on slot A and was still on sep 19th build.
I'll be happy to have more specific information on dirty flash process to, because on my mi9 I only had to wipe cache, dalvik and install the rom zip to do so.
Dev dirty flash guide is listed very clearly and that is the steps you should take. How clear u want it to be?
    😅

Or do you need guide to be like this in future:
    1. Take a deep breathe
    2. Swallow your saliva
    3. Boot to recovery by pressing and hold volume up + power button together with a force of 10newton/square meter till you see the poco logo
    4. Breath again
    5. Let go of power button, and still pressing volume up button firmly with the same force (not more not less)
    6. Take a sip of water and swallow it
    7. Blink your eye
    8. Type in your password to decrypt the storage
    9. Breath again
    10. Tap on install button with a force of 1 newton/square meter
    11. Breath again
    12. Swipe at a speed of 1cm/second to the right to confirm flash
    13. Have a good chat with your mum
    14. Swallow your saliva.......
Man these can take 100 steps...

Anyways jokes aside, I am not sure why yours is still on 19th september build. I have followed the steps listed by dev at least 20 times when testing build and none goes wrong for me

Fyi, just follow clean flash guide (but skip format data)

Hi there, i'm coming from syberiaOs, and now that i wnated to flash your rom again, i have an error on twrp, already tried other roms, even the same zip from syberia os, but twrp is giving me error 1, errorcode kinstalldeviceopenerror. Can you help solve this problem? Ive already tried to flash the recente firmware, flashes with no problem but when flashing roms it give me this updater error...

This unfortunately happens very often, even when dirty flashing a simple update of the same rom. hopefully we will get more reliably twrp recoveries anytime soon.
In any way, there are 2 things you can try . first, you can try to reflash the original kernel of your rom (this depends on what rom you are on right now and which kernel and version they use) and then try again. second thing you can try is to switch to the other slot so if you are on a, switch to b (can be done in recovery). after switching reboot to recovery and retry to flash the rom.

actually, you can also try the other recovery as a third solution. so if you tried with vasivaths twrp, retry with nebrassys twrp or maybe even with adb sideload.

if all of it doesn't work, try to at least reboot your rom and backup everything and flash stock miui. there is really no other solution and it seems like nobody really knows why this happens sometimes and sometimes not (and ironically not to everyone). not even the rom maintainers know it seems.
