57% estimated capacity for a battery is really, really bad. Would suggest changing it. Almost certain you will get better SOT.
Yeah, since it's just my backup device it's not worth it though. I just thought I remembered getting about 2.5h SOT on my old ROM. But that ROM was basically unusable, I think it may have traded performance completely for battery life. At least it runs smoothly with this ROM.
Any ideas about screen cast?

No idea about screen cast. My Hammerhead, although on Q, is sitting in a drawer right now.

Just installed this ROM on my Nexus 5 after my new phone broke. If the Nexus had better battery I'd almost prefer it to my new phone, thanks to this ROM.
Some issues:
- Battery is really bad? The phone never had a good battery and AccuBattery reports only 57% of design capacity usable, however 1h55m of screen on time still seems pretty low. Or am I just forgetting how bad the battery is :p
- I only have 1.5G /system and nano gapps didn't fit. Not a deal breaker, I'm fine with pico.
- Screen Cast crashes the device, at least with the one wireless projector I tried it with. Any idea why?

Setup: 1.5G /system from https://forum.xda-developers.com/go...ment/repartition-nexus-5-repartition-t3844395, crDroid 20200916, OpenGapps pico 2020/09/27
Thanks for the great work!
Yeah battery is super bad but I guess I'm used to this after 2 yrs of usage. Great device, fantastic in everything except the battery.

Trying to flash the Android 9 Pie version of the rom, but for some reason getting Error 7 Failed to mount system.
Using TWRP HH R5 and did the partition resizing with it.
Dont have any problem with installing the Android 10 Crdroid.
Any idea whats going on?

Edit:
Or maybe someone has an idea how to make bluetooth settings for LDAC stick in developer options on Crdroid 10? I can change them , but after reconnecting the bluetooth device they revert to default.
This is being the reason i want to try pie.

Is anyone aware if this ROM shares the same Camera Bug that also LOS17.1 from z3DD3r has? Basically while videocalling on Whatsapp, after a while the camera freezes and the only way to get it back is by rebooting the phone.

Thank you in advance

It has the same bugs as LineageOS. It's a limitation of our old phone.... Can't do much about it at this point.

Now that the slow animation bug is fixed I gave the rom a try again and it is still stuck on the boot animation, the animation is fast but it never passes this boot step and no errors are given. crDroid using Android 9 works perfectly. Has anyone experienced this or knows a fix for this?

Try again bro, I have no errors relating to that. Try a clean fresh install.

Have you resized partitioning? Without resizing you won't be able to install any GApps package. Any ROMs based on Android 9 or newer need resizing of the system partition. There is a link in the first post of this ROM.

Banking apps "OS fails security checks"

Two issues with 2020-10-12.

First, after a clean flash with OpenGApps Pico 20201023 I am stuck with Setup telling me to set up Face Unlock (along with another method, pattern, pin, password). I don't want to do that. I can work around it by booting, then installing GApps later, but it's very annoying.

Edit After selecting an option, but before actually entering a PIN/Pattern/Password there is the option at the bottom left to Skip (and you can set up a screen lock later as normal). If you enter a PIN etc. at this point then you can't skip the Face Unlock setup.

Second, when trying to run one of my mobile banking apps I am told that the "OS or device has failed security checks". The same app works fine with z3DD3r's LineageOS 17.1. Both have Magisk 21.0 with MagiskHide enabled (though not selected for any specific apps in the submenu).

Edit I've tried a few approaches, the app works up until the point I install Magisk, then no option in Magisk seems to "hide" it (assuming that is the problem).

crDroid is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device also attempting to bringing many of the best features existent today. We're mainly based on LineageOS so use custom kernels compatible with them!

Always Have a full functional Backup. Just in case!

    TWRP Recovery:

    TWRP Thread

    ROM DOWNLOAD:
    crDroid Website
DOWNLOAD LATEST OFFICIAL BUILD (Android 11)
DOWNLOAD LATEST OFFICIAL BUILD (Android 10)
DOWNLOAD LATEST OFFICIAL BUILD (Android 9 PIE)

    DOWNLOAD GAPPS (PICO Version)

First time installing crDroid to your Nexus 5, or coming from another ROM:

** Make sure you're running the latest TWRP Recovery (UA or HH Version)
    1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
    2) Boot into Recovery
    3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
    4) Flash ROM
    5) Flash gapps
    6) Boot up

For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk 21.x (whatever is most recent).

Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

    KNOWN ISSUES (Android 11)
    Slow Boot Animation
Screen mirroring via slimport HDMI adapter doesn't work.
    PMF aka 802.11w doesn't work.
    Wi-Fi display doesn't work
    SELinux permissive

Don't expect any support if you:
    - are not running the included kernel
    - have installed any mods such as Xposed!
    - have modified system files

    Thanks to:

    - Google
    - LineageOS

    - AOSPA (Paranoid Android)
    - OmniRom
    - NamelessROM
    - Many others... (if you're feeling upset being out of the thanks list just send a PM )

    For everyone concerned...

With custom ROM's heading towards Q (Android 10) it will take time to figure out all the issues, I will be providing updates for this device until crDroid Android stops development on Pie and moves on towards Android 10.

With news that daily LineageOS builds provided by @z3DD3r will be stopping soon, I will provide updates on the same timeline I normally do, so don't worry. Nexus 5 has 1-2 more updates on Pie at least before crDroid moves on towards Android 10.

Thanks for using crDroid and all the well wishes I get from all of you.

    Regards,
    Frazer.

I'll be back soon with fresh builds of Android 10 for Nexus 5, so don't worry about me dropping support. Huge shoutout and thanks to @EnesSastim and @z3DD3r for keeping Nexus 5 alive all this time.
