Hello, my phone is now in a "decryption unsuccessful" boot loop, like this
JDoqF.png

My nexus 5 was in android 7 or so (lineageOS rom). I updated twrp to the latest version 3.4.0.0 and clean installed crDroid latest version. And the boot loop started since then.

Later I followed some youtube tutorial to solve this error, which basically told me to wipe everything including internal storage and repair the data partition format in ext4.

Again I installed crDroid but it's the same error... I also tried some other roms but the "decryption unsuccessful" cr*p is stuck on the nexus 5 now.

Did I miss anything?

Always format when switching rom platforms.

IMPORTANT:

You need to install repartition'ed TWRP below. Don't blame me if anything goes wrong.
You need to use TWRP from this thread before trying to flash this ROM, due to low System partition space. Repartition thread

Is it necessary to repartition if I come from LineageOS 17 without Gapps? I didn't repartition for that one and it works fine.
Again, I don't use Gapps.

I was running v6.7 with opengapps nano, system is repartitioned with TWRP 3.3.1.-HH.R.6.
Dirty flash v6.8 + opengapps nano 20200711= TWRP Error 70
Dirty flash v6.8 + opengapps pico 20200711= a bunch of Google apps crashing (that was to be expected because of the different gapps package)
Clean flash v6.8 + opengapps nano 20200711 = TWRP error 70
Clean flash v6.8 + opengapps pico 20200711 = success!
So I guess opengapps nano package is a no go anymore...
Also during the initial setup I noticed that the user is forced to setup a screen lock + Face Unlock without a way to bypass this screen (or Face Unlock only). I had to setup Face unlock and delete the settings afterwards, since I am no fan of this feature. Anyway, no more whining! Thank you dev for your continuous support!

I updated from v6.7 to v6.8 with dirty flash with TWRP 3.3.1 ( non HH version) successfully as I have 3gb system partition (that was partitioned by hand ago). Opengapps stock 20200710 was dirty flashed, too.

I can't use this ROM. My camera doesn't work. I can't bypass face unlock in setup.

I can't use camera, too. As I didn't use camera nor face unlock, I didn't notice this bug.
I figured out how to skip the face unlock. Select a face unlock option on the lock type selection screen, and press skip on the lower left corner.

So easy to miss. It doesn't make sense. The skip should be on the lock type selection screen, not on the PIN entry screen.

crDroid is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device also attempting to bringing many of the best features existent today. We're mainly based on LineageOS so use custom kernels compatible with them!

    ROM DOWNLOAD:
    crDroid Website
DOWNLOAD LATEST OFFICIAL BUILD (Android 11)
DOWNLOAD LATEST OFFICIAL BUILD (Android 10)
DOWNLOAD LATEST OFFICIAL BUILD (Android 9 PIE)

    DOWNLOAD GAPPS (PICO Version)

First time installing crDroid to your Nexus 5, or coming from another ROM:

** Make sure you're running the latest TWRP Recovery (UA or HH Version)
    1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
    2) Boot into Recovery
    3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
    4) Flash ROM
    5) Flash gapps
    6) Boot up

For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk 21.x (whatever is most recent).

Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

    KNOWN ISSUES (Android 11)
    Slow Boot Animation
Screen mirroring via slimport HDMI adapter doesn't work.
    PMF aka 802.11w doesn't work.
    Wi-Fi display doesn't work
    SELinux permissive

Don't expect any support if you:
    - are not running the included kernel
    - have installed any mods such as Xposed!
    - have modified system files

    Thanks to:

    - Google
    - LineageOS
    - SlimRoms
    - AOSPA (Paranoid Android)
    - OmniRom

    For everyone concerned...

With custom ROM's heading towards Q (Android 10) it will take time to figure out all the issues, I will be providing updates for this device until crDroid Android stops development on Pie and moves on towards Android 10.

With news that daily LineageOS builds provided by @z3DD3r will be stopping soon, I will provide updates on the same timeline I normally do, so don't worry. Nexus 5 has 1-2 more updates on Pie at least before crDroid moves on towards Android 10.

Thanks for using crDroid and all the well wishes I get from all of you.

    Regards,
    Frazer.

    Note
This is going to be the FINAL build of Pie for Nexus 5.

I'll be taking a month or so break to focus on my post-graduate studies as well as taking some time off to recuperate. I'll be back soon with fresh builds of Android 10 for Nexus 5, so don't worry about me dropping support. Huge shoutout and thanks to @EnesSastim and @z3DD3r for keeping Nexus 5 alive all this time.
