I just wanted to share my experience with installing this system.
- booted TWRP
- used ADB sideload to load crDroid - gave an error at some % but ignored it
- formatted data in TWRP
- booted system but it got stuck at crDroid logo
- booted LOS recovery (included in crDroid), formatted data
- booted system without problems
- booted TWRP and installed OpenGapps and Magisk
- everything works nice and smooth :)

Big thank you and respect to devs and supporting forum members!

My question: which GCAM version is the best for our device? I want to use all cameras and fake bokeh, is this possible? Thank you!

There is a Gcam thread in this forum, the conclusion seems to be version 7.3.018:

I've been using it since the beginning. When I had no other backup, I restored at least from Google. But now I'm on PE+. crDroid I also tested for a while and it worked. However, it does require you to try the appropriate GAPPS (including the appropriate version) when reinstalling.

Thank you very much for the reply, and so what version did you get working for crdroid?

The latest flamegapps full and basic causes me to be stuck in crdroid boot animation .
Maybe the issue is how i flashed them? if so here are the steps I did:

restart to los recovery
format data
restart to bootloader/fastboot
fastboot boot twrp.img
install flamegapps full
wipe dalvik
reboot sytem
stuck in crdroid logo
Repeated the same steps for flamegapps basicc, still stuck on crdroid..

tried sideloading through los recovery = still stuck on crdroid boot animation

I have read somewhere that I needed to reflash rom when changing to a diff gapps build, i was on MindTheGapps first.

Should I have reflashed the rom first before using a different gapps version?

It's been a while since I last changed the rom. But in any case, I would do a factory reset after the GAPPS flash.

Are you on latest crDroid ?
I had some issue with previous version of crDroid, latest flamegapps version don't work, just flash a previous version of gapps resolved the problem.

Yep, and I've tried the latest flamegapps, both basic and full. It doesn't seem to work no matter what I do, just stuck in crdroid boot logo. Although other gapps version like bit, nikgapps etc, boots successfully, they cant seem to do a restore from Google backup which is what I wanted to do.

If I want, can I install only the ROM without GApps?
And currently, what is the best camera available for this ROM? Could someone please give me the link?

Yes since latest Crdroid build does not come with gapps.
For more info on gcams, there is a thread here

You made a factory reset after flash gapps ???! why ?
I install GAPPS in a newly flashed rom. Subsequent factory settings will ensure proper adaptation (cleanup) of the data partition and prevent possible conflict. This will not damage the GAPPS installation and will tidy up the software environment. Formatting the data does not hurt either.

ok, but format data partition is not like factory reset, now I understand what you mean.

Anyone got restore from google backup working? Already tried nikgapps, opengapps and mindthegapps, or is this a lost cause?
    FlameGApps have them.

    • You Can't Flash This Rom Via Recovery
    • You Can Flash Gapps Via Twrp Or Orfp
    • Make Sure To Backup All Data Before Flashing (It Might Loose Because Of Different Partition)
    7
turned out the issue was because of installing pico gapps. installing other gapps did not give this problem
I'll be making GApps & vanilla variants separated from next build.
Will also make sure you guys wouldn't have these gapps hazzle on each update...
I'll also make sure included gapps to be as minimal as possible, unlike other roms that bundle the whole google junk into the OTA.
