The built-in system updater doesn't work only for me? It always says that it's the latest version.

Another flaw: the SIM switch QS tile fails to enable the SIM 2.

Here are the modified system settings while switching the SIM card:

Switch from SIM1 to SIM2 though the QS tile:

Category: global
Name: "multi_sim_data_call"
Value: 2

Category: global
Name: "mobile_data1"
Value: 0

=> Both SIM are disabled: FAIL

Switch from SIM1 to SIM2 by enabling manually the SIM2 data though the network settings:

Category: global
Name: "multi_sim_data_call"
Value: 3

Category: global
Name: "mobile_data3"
Value: 1

Category: global
Name: "mobile_data1"
Value: 0

=> SIM1 is disabled, SIM2 is enabled: OK

Switch from SIM2 to SIM1 through the QS tile:

Category: global
Name: "mobile_data1"
Value: 1

=> SIM1 is enabled, SIM2 is disabled: OK

Switch from SIM2 to SIM1 by enabling manually the SIM1 data though the network settings:

Category: global
Name: "multi_sim_data_call"
Value: 1

Category: global
Name: "mobile_data1"
Value: 1

=> SIM1 is enabled, SIM2 is disabled: OK

I don't know why my SIM2 has the number 3 but this is obviously what makes the QS tile to fail to enabled it.

Damn it. I've installed the new version through a clean flash to get rid of Data encryption by flashing Disable-Force-Encryption-Treble, because this encryption prevents the Recovery backups to be restored (they always fail on Data), but during the rom first boot attempt, it whines that the encryption got interrupted and thus the data are unreadable, they it got back to the recovery.

Is there any mean to get MSM Xtented with an UNencrypted Data partition?

EDIT: Dont mind this complaint. I've found another DFE file that works fine with Android 11. I have now MSM Xtended with an unencrypted Data.

EDIT 2: Either I need new glassed or MSM Xtended vX.r lacks a simple toggle to enable the dark mode, without any condition.
I could only enable it by choosing a time range from 0:00 to 23:59 but this means my eyes will get burnt for one minute every days: pretty annoying.

After use this ROM for a few weeks, I'd like to report some bugs and suggestions.
First, if I use fingerprint to unlock my device, I'll have 3 second freeze on my home screen. I can't do any operation at that time.
Second, if I press power button 2 times in a short time (close the screen then turn it on), the screen will close, then it will turn on after about 3~5 seconds.
Idk if it is a bug or just a case, just report it to the developer 😉😉.
And btw, can the kernel support battery idle mode? I really hope this feature will be add in the near future!!

And all other things are great. Thanks to the developer's hard working!

Why? I flashed xtended then flash disable force encryption(and then Magisk), it's working properly.
I use this one.
Try it out!

I didn't come back here as I've switched to another rom because of the excessive battery drain of MSM Xtended vX.r.
I can confirm your encryption disabling file works properly.
That makes the switch from a rom to another one much faster as the Internal Storage doesn't have to be wiped or formatted any longer.

Yeah indeed Xtended is quite battery draining.
So the ROM you using is better than xtended right? Not only battery life but also speed?Which ROM are u currently using? Maybe I'll try it in the future.

I'm not sure I may write here the name of another rom.

Anyway, I've switched to cdDroid 7.11 that seems to work perfectly so far.

I already used this rom up to the v7.9 that came with too troublesome bugs.

I'll keep switching between MSM Xtended and crDroid depending on which is the less buggy.
Having gotten rid of the Data encryption makes it much faster.

crDroid v4.11 drains much less the battery than MSM Xtended XR vX.r.
It also displays properly the VoWifi statusbar icon.
It has much less customization settings but it still works flawlessly.
I keep it until the next version of MSM Xtended is released, then I'll test it again and choose which rom I keep for the next month.

Finally, both crDroid and MSM Xtended have bugs.
I've finally come back to MSM because crDroid didn't handle properly my two SIM cards. It didn't allows to select the default one for call and the SMS.

I still have complaints about MSM Xtended XR vX.r though:
- an excessive battery drain
- the VoWifi icon never show up when it should be in place of the VoWifi icon
- the Quick Settings lacks a "Switch language" tile

I've just found out that the vX.r is the final version. In other words, no new version should be released, perhaps until Android 12.
This means the actual bugs will never be fixed :(

Hello,
I was using the digital fingerprint locking thing. but today I've got a bug, it asked me to enter the 4-digit code instead of unlocking with my fingerprint, I could not remember the code, so it is locked now. How can I unlock? should I reflash via TWRP?
thanks for your help.

A phone can be locked by two different ways.

Accessibility: it can be unlocked though the fingerprint
Administrator: it can only be unlocked though a code or a schema. The fingerprint isn't allowed.

When the screen goes off after a timeout, the phone is locked the administrator way, and it may not be unlocked by the fingerprint.

I don't know how to recover from a forgotten code as the recovery should ask for it before allowing anything.

So I need to reflash the ROM, etc...?

I can't flash from TWRP as it is asked the pin code and if I want to navigate to folder where I have the ROM install file, I can't as the titles of folders are weird sequences of letters and numbers. Can I flash via my pc?

update: silly me, I can do it via Odin, correct?

I guess you can try to flash the fastboot version of the full MIUI rom by using Mi Flash while the phone is connected in Fastboot mode, then you should be able to flash TWRP (still from fastboot mode), the swtich to the recovery to flash the rom and everything else.

You can also try this fastboot command: fastboot format data.
If it works, it would be much faster than the previous method.

So, I downloaded Xtended vX and Gapps, copy them to the folder "download" in internal storage, did an install, reboot, it's still asking me a code. I have the message: emergency calls only (sim card is puk_locked)
