Can't get "OK Google" hotword to work. Looks like Google search isn't installed as a system app? The functionality is greyed out in the app itself. All other functions work fine. Would I have to move this to a system app to restore functionality? Via ADB or Solid Explorer with root?

Same here. I'm not sure whether it is a ROM issue or a Gapps issue. I've installed NikGapps.

I was thinking of trying it. Do you have a link? Have you tried it and still have an issue? I think it's because it has to be a system app to use the microphone hands free.

I've been using it since the start of crDroid 7. I gave up using hotword months ago after repeated failure. Anyway, link to NikGapps is here. I prefer minimal 'core'.

Thanks for the link. Interesting. I just came off of Derpfest, and it ran fine on that ROM.

I am told If you have installed Nikgapps, then flash NikGapps-Addon-11-Velvet-signed.zip addon. It will install Google app as system app and hotword will work fine. I haven't verified this, but I'll give it a try next time I flash.

I ended up doing a new flash, and I was successful in getting "OK Google" to work properly. The only issue I have (minor) is that Google messages will not blink the notification light for some reason despite my best attempts.

Congratulations on your success. I will try add-ons the next time I flash new build. Switch to other Gapps is not an option for the time being since I don't wanna clean flash.

Even though it is not a recommended procedure, there was one success case reported in my memory, though not sure. Please search the forum.

Got stuck in boot loop, Downloaded file from page 1 and will try to clean flash...sigh.
Installation successful.
ETA part 2: Figures, OK Google doesn't work again, despite trying 3 different types of GAPPS.

Hello, i just OTA update from 7.3 to 7.4 this morning and facial recognition setup stopped working.
Facial Unlock -> Pattern -> Config -> Next -> "An error has ocurred. Facial scan has failed. Make sure lighting is okay and you are looking at the camera".

This was working on 7.3. Any ideas?

Just updated to 7.4 via OTA. Face unlock is completely broken, the Bluetooth devices button on the volume slider crashes the launcher and randomly the recents menu is showing everything upside down. Everything else seems okay.

Rooted with Magisk 22.0 and using Nova Launcher.

Confirmed on the Bluetooth button on volume slider. I don't use facelock so I can't say. No issues with upside down recents.

Just started testing the new 20 March build. However here are my initial observations....

One Noob query?, how to enable gesture navigation like in original OP5t, instead of the bottom nav bar.

Two, Possible Bug! guess the VoWiFi breaks every now and then as the icon goes away and the calls too go over lte. Toggling same under settings activates again.

Also if anyone knows of a good bootanime on starwars related theme for op5t.

P.S. Coming from stock, with few mins of other recent A11 roms like Drep, PixelE, AICP, Lineage

I had the same issue. I rebooted into recovery, reflashed gapps, Magisk, cleared cache and dalvik, and rebooted, it then came up. I had to clear app cache on a couple of trouble apps after that, but everything runs snoothly now.

Still cannot use OK Google hotword, but I wasn't expecting a fix on that, most ROMS don't have that function right now, except for the Lineage 18.1 here in cross-platform development, for some reason. The Blutooth button on the volume slider now works appropriately. Thanks, Dev!

Anyone been able to get Safetynet to pass on this ROM? I’m using Magisk with Magiskhide, but I’m not even able to pass basic integrity.
