Hey,

I installed the rom yesterday, great so far but since yesterday evening I can't update apps over the play store, it says something displays on top, does anyone have the same issue? Could not find something in the thread about it.

Greetings

That's the error message:

It seems that another app is blocking access to Google Play. Turn off any apps that might be drawing over the screen and try again.

I allready tried to disable apps that draw over the screen in settings, but I can not switch anything off

Why is it that I am unable to use my camera app on Facebook messenger? Additionally, how can I flash magisk now that I'm done setting up the rom?

So if anyone is interested: a Google live wallpaper was causing the overlay problem, pretty weird, also when I switch on power saving mode, same bug.

Hi,
Install "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" on your pc
Download Magisk 23.zip and put it in the folder "Minimal ADB and Fastboot"

Reboot in recovery,
Go to 1) Install update
2) ADB Sideload
On your pc,
Execute cmd-here, then in cmd.exe "adb sideload Magisk-v23.0.zip"
Reboot

Hello,

I've flashed this ROM a few hours ago and I'm quite happy with it, it doesn't have that many features but they all seem to be working properly. Fingerprint works well, flashing was fine but I had to wipe sdcard since I earlier was on october security patch.

Just a few things I noticed:

1) It's not possible to change slider button settings (mute/vibrate/normal). It would be a nice addition.
2) I don't think color profiles match the OOS ones. For example, the "natural" one seems way too saturated. Only "adaptative" seems to give natural/srgb results.
3) On cold boot, the FOD icon should be hidden since it's not possible to unlock the phone with it.
4) With stock kernel, performance is quite poor imo. Lots of stuttering. Flashing Neutrino fixes all issues though, so it's not top priority.
5) Screen randomly flashes at might brightness when waking up the phone. I've noticed the same bug on CrDroid, jaguar. I assume it's related to LOS?

Thank you for your work anyway!

Getting back in to rooting as I got this 8T recently.
Not seeing support for TWRP on their site for this model from the link in OP.
Downloaded and set up ADB on my PC.
Any assistance appreciated.

TWRP is still in Alpha, you'll find it in a search of the parent forum (i.e. https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/oneplus-8t-roms-kernels-recoveries-other-deve.11587). Don't worry too much about the alpha part, it's just due to the weirdness with getting it to stick between a/b slots.

EDIT: Actual link to TWRP: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...recovery-project-8t-kebab-2021-09-04.4302449/ (Sorry for being lazy. :) )

I read the OP.

Would it be ok to flash ROM via TWRP? As in,

Boot into latest TWRP
Format data
Format cache
Flash ROM

Am I missing any steps if I were to use TWRP ? Or is it better to flash via fastboot ?

You can try, if you have errors try the fastboot way. In any case, you'll have to wipe data (including all files) if you're currently on October patch.

Hi. A few days ago I tested the hdmi capabilities of OnePlus 8t and I came across an issue - 60hz lock. As far as I am concerned - it happens on all phones except nubia redmagic, so it seems to be a software limitation. Does ur rom support 120hz hdmi output?

Experience is great. Battery is excellent, although I have had a couple of apps go rogue and chew through battery in a day, but its rare.

What text would you copy from recents screen? Not sure what you mean.
Why in my phone have a problem with battery in idle. if i go to sleep with 49% i wake up with 21%.

    Hey there,
I'm trying to flash Havoc os ROM on oneplus 8t with 128 GB internal storage and unlocked bootloader, I keep getting this error when i run the ROMinstaller
    I'm using win10

Invalid sparse file format at header magic
Resizing 'system_ext_a' FAILED (remote: 'Not enough space to resize partition')
    fastboot: error: Command failed
Invalid sparse file format at header magic

any idea how to make it works?

when that happens, i flash this twrp https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplus8t.html
I wipe everything, then i reflash the lineage recovery or another one and flash with Fastbbot method.

what exactly is this rotation icon called? id love to disable it. i constantly push it by accident
Rotation Suggestion was first implemented in Android pie, hope that helps, looks like you can disable it thru ADB

A question: Do I have to be on the latest official OOS firmware to install Havoc ROM on OnePlus 8T? Because on lineage there are these instructions: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/kebab/fw_update

But I am unsure if Havoc needs this procedure or not.
No you do not have to be on stock OOS to install this ROM
    1
Great. So I installed the latest HavocOS 4.12 vanilla, I was on Lineage 18.1 microg version. HavocOS is way more better than Lineage, so I am very happy and I guess I will stick with it.
The vanilla build has signature spoofing enabled by default, so I managed to install MinMicroG package from Magisk quite easily and got microg working.

    However!

The installation process of HavocOS had failed for me, at the fastboot flash product product.img part. The error was that there were no space to resize partition. I managed to flash all the other .img but product.img for that reason. I tried to reboot and I got a Qualcomm Crashdump with error 7 0 f something. Don't remember the exact error code, but the matter is that I was still able to reboot into HavocOs recovery and from there I did adb sideload rom.zip instead of using the guide here.

I managed to boot into the ROM, however only one slot works. If I reboot to recovery, change slot, and try to boot I still see the Qualcomm Crashdump issue. I also tried to sideload the ROM into the problematic slot, but it did not work. So for now I use the phone with 1 working slot only, the other is not usable, probably I have to flash stock OSS with other tools, or there are other options?
You can copy A to B or vice versa with the Lineage tool found here
