Yes this is an option, make sure ambient display is turned on for single tap in settings, deviceextras, touchscreen, and single tap would be all the way at the bottom and just set it for ambient display and also go to settings, lock screen to make sure it's enabled as well so there isn't any issues with it.
Thank you so much, enabling single tap gesture in touchscreen gestures worked!

I have another question, is there an option to remove the clock and the estimated battery from the statusbar header? I could only get as far as replacing the estimated battery life with the current battery level.

I have what may be a stupid question but I just got a OnePlus 8t and these directions look like it isn't necessary to unlock the bootloader or install a custom recovery like I am used to with other phones. What, if any, preparation do I need to do before installing this rom? Do I need to unlock the bootloader or install a custom recovery? Can I install it on an unmodified 8T?

Thanks for your help.

What I did was unlock bootloader >> flash TWRP >> switch slot >> flash this rom >> Format data. This is much less hassle than using the payload dumper method mentioned in the OP. It is up to you how you decide to do it, both methods work.

You cannot flash a custom rom without unlocking the bootloader so that is mandatory.

Yes bootloader has to be unlocked before you can flash anything

Which might explain why Im having the no Sim issue.. as I'm on TMobile..
I'm also on T-Mobile and have the no sim issue, tried several installs...wiped everything numerous times as well as flashing my firmware before the rim and still can't get it to recognize the sim.....one thing I was curious about is the ROM is provisioned for 2 sims cards and the T-Mobile version at least only has a single sim and just maybe the ROM is set to look at a specific sim as default which we don't have.......i.e default is slot 2 and ours being single sim doesn't show up.

Has anyone had the "no sim card" issue and found a work around yet? I'm on a T-Mobile version that's sim and bootloader unlocked and the installation goes flawlessly. I love the ROM however I can't get it to recognize my SIM card and once I flash Derpfest my sim won't work on any other attempts/Roms until I Msm load an official stock ROM....if anyone figures it out I'd greatly appreciate a nudge in the right direction....Thanks

I just use a ROM thats not giving me the same issue. Both groups are aware of the issue. For now I just use AICP..

I have a weird issue with Facebook Messenger while using this ROM where I'm unable to send photos. I can take a photo, but Messenger hangs for a couple of seconds before I get a message saying "the camera is not working at the moment". Shooting videos works, and taking photos with Snapchat and GCam also works flawlessly. Sending photos from the device to messenger also works.

I have tested this with OOS, both with and without locked bootloader, and Messenger works flawlessly. It also works in AICP, but I want to use a ROM with more options. I also have the same issue in Havoc OS and PixelExtended.

What's this no sim issue? Wouldn't assume it's bc of dual sim as I'm pretty sure vzw is single sim too? I'm on tmo and would wanna flash this, but if it kills sim that's no go. I'm on havoc ATM and it seems okay...but...derp...

I don't think 'unlock the phone via fingerprint when the screen is off' is possible on OnePlus. That's cuz OP uses an optical sensor as compared to some Samsung phones that use ultrasonic sensor and have the said feature.

I can confirm the ROM is very stable with great battery life and includes a fully functional OOS cam.

I haven't tried off-screen gestures, OTA or Havoc ROM for that matter so can't comment.
Off screen gestures work, don't recommend doing ota's as it seems to mess with persist partition

    Hello everybody,

I have just bought the 8T and I am still on stock. One of the main reasons I consider switching to another ROM would be to be able to unlock the phone via fingerprint when the screen is off, since this feature is not offered in stock ROM.

So my first question is: Does this reliably work on this ROM?

    Second question:
The most important things to me are
    - stability
    - battery life
    - OTA-ability
    - OOS cam
    - off-screen gestures

Thats why I only consider this ROM and Havoc. Can anyone tell me if these features work well and what the differences to Havoc are?

    Thank you very much!

Yep, but the thread was posted by apophis9283. I think apophis used incognito's trees for building. Not sure though.
Yes and no. I did start with his trees. He's in my small chat on telegram. So yes collaboration was part of it. I made changes outside of his. I had source that had a ton more changes like more options in TWRP etc... But I lost that image and source when Linux entered an unrecoverable state. When I get it all back you can check periodically on my AFH in a few days. Ill have more fixes I'll be adding. Incognito was absolutely fundamental in what I did. I do not want to take away from his amazing work. Once I get everything going again, I'll be sharing my source with him.
