New build released
  • Fixed an issue that caused by SELinux which prevents sensors from working.
Thank you, proximity sensor works great now.
About BT calls, after getting in my hands mono headset, I found that my sound transferred correctly to interlocutor and I hear him clear. But with stereo headset silence at my end and noise on other. I tested stereo headsets on AptX, LDAC and SBC codecs - all the same. Hope, you can fix it soon. If you need logs or other data, please let me know.

Sony Xperia Z5
I have my fingers crossed, I absolutely love this phone
me either. I'm still having a guess that Using the Orignal Camera API from sony's firmware would fix the issue with the camera. idk if tarkzim still has a Xperia Z5 with the original firmware running but my guess is that mixing both new and old API might fix something in the Camera Issue. even tho we still have a noise issue due to some processing not working

Tried the new build today without Gapps. Camera, Calendar, Contacts, SMS, Phone, Calculator work. What still does not work, is the browser. It still crashes and causes a device reboot. Am I the only one who experiences this problem?

I don't use default browser, but Firefox works good on my device, you should try it.

1 - true, I found it warm many times even without reason when it just lay on table for hours.
2 - I think this caused by some installed apps. After some updates it looses 50% during night, after other about 20% (also my battery is old).

On my device, nothing like that seems to occur. I did not install anything (no Gapps), and because of the browser not working I cannot even download some apks to install manually. I am only talking about preinstalled apps. And no warm device and no battery drain either. Strange that our Z5 phones behave so differently...

I can't, because I do not have Gapps installed, and therefore I have no way of installing it. On the other hand: When the default browser crashes the whole system, this is definitely a symptom of a serious problem and should not happen. The default preinstalled apps should all work at least. This is a minimum requirement for a usable system. Wouldn't you agree?

Does 4g/wifi calling (VoLTE/VoWIFI) work fine on this? Do I need to do anything before I unlock the bootloader to save my drm keys and restore them after?

New build released
  • Updated to Android 11.0.0_r46 with October security patches.
  • Upstream updates and fixes.
  • Now it will detect your REAL model name, so you might be able to be recognized by stock flasher.
How can I do that?
i have to full format data and then flash the ROM? I have E6633, but by old versions with this ROM, my model name changed to E6683.
What I must to do to recover my own model version with this build ROM?

Thank you very much mr developer. :) It runs almost perfect.

Most of the time fingerprint doesn't work, but that's not a problem for me.

Posts seem to be getting deleted from this thread. I'm sure there was a post the other day from someone saying they altered / modified the kernel to stop the high temperature and battery drain.. No mention what they actually did though.

Hello @tarkzim Thanks for updating rom, i am using your room near 1 year, thanks again, but there is a new Operation system as you know, Android 12 and Lineage os 19, can you make a room with android 12 please, sorry for my bad english.

Edit: And pls allow us to use power mods, which is the maybe the best setting in the lineage os.

Dear all!

Unfortunately, I need help with a nearly-bricked phone:
I installed the 18.1 build on my Z5 and found that the camera doesn't work (the software always crashed) so I decided to install an older build. I also flashed 18.1 using different GApp suites. Somewhere in the process, I don't know where, I sort-of-bricked the phone. Lineage fails to boot (the boot animation hangs) and the phone gets very, very hot, like draining the battery within 30 minutes - hot. Flashing back to backup of the original sony firmware doesn't work and a different custom rom doesn't work either. I meanwhile do get some TWRP error messages when writing the images.

What is still working:
* I can still enter TWRP, it can read from and write to the SD-card.
* I can connect to PC to execute a "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img"
but that is pretty much it.

What I would need:
A step-by-step direction of how to get to a booting rom - just any rom will do at the moment, doesn't have to be 18. I guess this could also include repartitioning, because of the TWRP-error messages.

I'm using a different phone, an XZ1, so if I should have completely broken the Z5, it wouldn't matter too much, but it would make a good X-mas present for my son.

Thanx all!

Thanks for the hint. The Sony Companion refuses to flash the Z5 because the bootloader is unlocked.
Therefore I guess I need some way from within TWRP to proceed.

I can enter TWRP. Currently I have lineage-18.1-20210713 installed which hangs at boot at the animated Lineage-logo.
Download Stok Rom and flash with flashtool, if you using 32 bit system then download flashtool ver 0.9.22.3, if using 64 bit system use newest flashtool..

    Introduction
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11 (R), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
