The ROM of today works much better - ... or too good. TWRP has been deleted ???
I should have installed TWRP in the end of flashing 18.1 - well, I thought then that old TWRP would stay the same ... but TWRP is gone - only Android 11 runs now perfect. Have to re-flash TWRP then ... how can I rescue TWRP of before flashing 18.1 ?!

It is solved - WoW ! there is a rescue mode - I was able then to re-install TWRP and now anything works ... really cool ! Good done ! I want to pay donation as reward to Tarkim ...

Hmmm ... something is weird. Installation of Gapps causes again - neverending
booting of 18.1 ?!
So - seems something to be wrong with openGapps package ?!
When I do not install openGapps package - then 18.1 is running perfect !
(There seems to be a conflict between openGapps and TWRP ... ?!)

It seems that there is a boot-virus somewhere ? in one of these packages :
- inside TWRP (of 18.1-ROM ?)
- inside openGapps (?)

Still never-ending booting ... (first attempt of flashing ROM was successful, but after re-tries it is neverending booting ?)

  • You have to uncheck the option called "Update Lineage Recovery" during initial setup wizard when you boot the ROM first time.
  • I suggest you to make a clean flash with this order :
    - Install ROM
    - Install Gapps
    - Reboot to system (Don't boot to system before doing above installations)
  • Or you can try MindTheGapps Arm 11.0

It is not entirely solved. Following is missing in network-settings.
I cannot use Google-Account, because there is simply no network ? :
- NFC is missing
- USB-debugging is missing
- network-settings are not complete ? I cannot make entry for provider ?
- Google cannot set account ?

no offense.

You can access to NFC toggle from Quick-tiles (From top)
USB debugging must be turn on by enabling Developer settings.
I'm not sure what's going on with your NETWORK problem and Google account issues.

- In build of last Saturday/Sunday network-settings are not fully supported ? still inactive ?
Medion / O2 (Aldi Talk) somehow has no internet ?
- built-in browser reported : "net::ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED"
- (but sending SMS - sending short text messages works ? - email is disabled due
to internet error)
- SE-Linux is still not fully active ?

Well - I try now new build - lets go !

not sure if this is up to network-settings of 18.1 or if this is up to openGapps (13.10) ?
It looks as if openGapps is only configured for WLAN configuration at first activation - not
for mobile connection ?

Sorry, I was not clear enough - I meant OS 18.1 is adjusted per-default to WLAN ?
Not adjusted generally to mobile-internet-settings ? Somehow WLAN is fixated here ?

A friend helped me a bit - I did following (this is C6603 - Xperia Z) :

Because ROM was not correctly configured - I needed to re-flash ROM.
But to wipe Dalvik Cache and wipe else (except sd-card) I needed to re-install TWRP - this
went this way in Linux :

cd Downloads

(there is twrp.img re-named into boot.img)

Then stay there in directory Downloads :

> adb devices
> adb reboot bootloader

(wait until blue LED is lightening)
then :

> sudo fastboot flash boot boot.img

(this works) and then :

> fastboot reboot

This works and TWRP is back in boot-loader - but now I did in normal way following :
Back in TWRP I did swipe Dalvik Cache entirely (except sd-card and except internal memory).

Then cautiously flashed ROM 18.1 of 11th October 2021. This succeeded.
Then I did reboot my Xperia Z :

I started with 18.1 new configuration and de-activated update (via WLAN) and I
DID NOT install recovery (left then hook away).

What happened then ?
TWRP disappeared and recovery was installed despite of that I refused recovery ?!
Medion-Mobile is somehow not accepted as mobile-setting for internet (in first configuration).
Medion-Mobile remains de-activated and WLAN is somehow
fixated ?! (= "net::ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED").

(I wanted then to re-flash TWRP back again - but now Xperia Z has no device ID
anymore ? - is this caused by missing hook for recovery - installation ? )

??? No offense. Only SMS send and receive works. I tried mindGapps ... still open ...

Hello Tarkim ? - ,

just a question : sure that ROM image file - of 11 October - is not damaged somehow ?
I don't know if it was damaged while downloading it ?
Apparently file-permissions are set with date of "1970" ? Is this correct ?

    Hello Tarkzim,

it is this way currently with Xperia Z (C6603) :

LineageOS-16.1 works with its internet-settings (for mobile network like Aldi-Talk).
LineageOS-18.1 works NOT with its internet-settings (for mobile network like Aldi-Talk).

At configuration (at first boot after flashing ROM) - 16.1 seems to be correct and in 18.1
configuration for mobile (Aldi-Talk) seems to be de-activated ?!

This is in my case - so am at present running 16.1 (the build of 20th October 2020).
    No offense.
Maybe you have to set the APN settings manually?
And can you describe your issue more detail?

    Like:
    - Do you have mobile signal?
    - Does it shows your sim card status correctly?
    - Is it able to switch mobile data on and off (If above are working)
    - Can you attach a screenshot of sim card settings?

    Introduction
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11 (R), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
