Flashed the zip in twrp (was on your last release, no wiping or factory reset of any kind, other than what's in your script), flashed the Magisk 23.0 apk, I'm back up and running on A11 now with root and Magisk working perfectly, even Magisk Hide, but safetynet still fails, buti don't really care...

All apps still installed and Google acct, no setup, completely stress free upgrade.

Thank again bro!

Are you by any chance using any sound enhancer from Magisk?

No, I haven't tried any, is there a sound module in magisk in particular that you would like me to try (viper, James dsp, etc)? Let me know. Granted it must be a11 compatible or it probably won't work, or even install,. I don't mind if it hoses the my ROM, I can easily go back with a twrp backup, or uninstall the module (or magisk, if necessary).

New release posted...

Downloads:
Change Log:
20211125:

  • Vendor partition and custom kernel based on T510XXU5CUJ1 OEM firmware (October 2021 Update)
  • Update to TWRP v3.6.0 custom recovery on AOSP 11
  • Latest Google apps from OpenGApps (20211125) w/ rollback for GoogleTTS
Flashed it in twrp 352, works flawlessly again, flashed your ROM then the magisk 23.0 apk in twrp,. Completely seamless transition again. Booted up like nothing changed, and everything works, however, for whatever reason, it seems a bit snappier now, lol.

Thank you sir.

This is wierd..I ran the latest update in TWRP (1125), then flashed the new recovery and got a bootloop. Flashed the previous twrp (0725) and it worked again. Reflashed the latest update again, no errors, and it still shows as 211010 in the build number. I assume it's not on CUJ1 but still stuck on CUF4. How can I upgrade it?

Presuming you can indeed still boot, try again. Make sure you've got a nandroid backup from TWRP

Hi,

This looks very promising. Since I'm so far still on stock with this device, I've got 2 questions:
1) Is there any plan to bring this to Android 12 as well?
2) can you recommend this as a daily driver? How is performance when compared with stock? Is there a significant difference?

Regards

I can recommend this as daily driver. I have been using this since August, and have not found any bugs. I believe there are intentions to move to Android 12, probably 12L once it's stable.

Hope this helps,
Cessna.

i had installed build 20210825 and flashed 20211125 via TWRP.
The flash process was okay and system was able to reboot. Then i tried to boot into Recovery from system and ended up in bootloop. I was not able to get into Recovery.
Tried to overflash the build 20211125 via Odin but it did not help. Had to flash back to build 20211120 now and the device is working again.

Odd. Did you wipe cache and dalvik after flashing the update zip?

yes right after first update to build 20211125.
now i flashed directly to build 20211125 and after that flashed TWRP 3.5.2 - both via odin.
System works again.
Laos tried to overflash Odin 3.6.0 only but enden in bootloop again. So there is a failure with the new TWRP 3.6.0 build.

It's seems no acces to the internal memory...
I format data in TWRP flash again in TWRB wipe dalvik/cache.
    And now all is OK.

Is there any way to overclock the CPU ?
There is the Infinity Kernel 3.0 but it's not compatible with your ROM anymore.
The device was working a bit smoother with this kernel

    "... incremental updates ...", maybe ?

Hello, I have the latest version based on J1 installed and it all works great except for one thing. There is no usb audio. I have the same EXACT problem as this guy posted here and no one responded:

USB-C audio works fine with the stock rom but with this rom the sound only comes from speakers. I tried messing with all the audio/usb options in settings with no luck.
Answering my own post here, I had tried "alternate audio mode" from phh options with no success but I tried again and after setting it unplugged and plugged in my usb->3.5mm adapter and it worked!

Well, we're finally getting some relatively stable builds of AOSP GSIs and OpenGApps for Android 11.0, so here's my first effort at migrating the Nexus Stock custom ROM for the 2019 Galaxy Tab A 10.0 [SM-T510] to the latest Android OS release. It's very much a work in progress, but it should hopefully help blaze the trail for even better work.

    Notes:
    • The current process may require you to reset to factory defaults to remove file-based encryption. Remember to backup your data!
    • Custom kernels are specific to OEM releases, and this one is based on the June 2021 Update (T510XXU5CUJ1) for the SM-T510. Note that the bootloader in this release has roll-back prevention.
    • The system is based on eremitein's CAOS GSI project with the latest Stock variant from OpenGApps.
    • Boot logo and default wallpaper is from my Nexus series of custom ROMs for Android TV, and I'm using the Pixel boot animation with black background.
    • Stock recovery will be replaced with my latest TWRP build for the SM-T510.
    • I've dialed back most of scary bootloader warnings and Knox Security branding from the boot sequence.
    • The properties now correctly identify the device as a tablet, and so the Google Dialer is no longer installed. I've also disabled the Emergency button, but SetupWizard still insists on reminding you to insert a SIM (sigh!).
    • This is unofficial and unsupported, so the usual caveats apply. Since we don't flash the bootloader, you should be able recover from any problems...but nothing is guaranteed.

    Not working:
    • Support for file-based encryption
    • Cold charging (low power mode) animates to about 39% and then reboots.

I just posted a new release. Note that I'll be following up with another update for T510XXU5CUJ1 (October 2021 Update) as soon as Samsung posts the kernel source.

New build is posted. Note that this is the first build with the new Android 11 OEM kernel, and so you should expect some issues. In particular, I've noticed that MTP with Android Debugging enabled can cause reboots. There's also the issue with the reboot during the cold charging animation (but it no longer hangs). I'm also creating my own stock variant for OpenGApps, which still hasn't updated the TEST release from January.

Also, note that the new OEM bootloader for Android 11 has rollback prevention, so there's no going back to Android 10 releases.
