Sorry for the noob question, but I got the non NFC version and I would love to try out this ROM and I was just wondering if this'll work on it. (I tried looking for a dedicated thread for this model but I'm only seeing X3 NFC threads)
Thank you!

Thank you!
It's a unified build for surya/karna (Poco X3/X3 NFC), like most other ROMs on this forum.

Looks good. Thanks for the speedy update. Love the switch to GCam.

PSA:
Dirty flashing over the last version reactivates encryption. This leads to boot issues (kicking you back to recovery) if you had used the no-encryption patch before.
To prevent this:

1. Dirty flash new WaveOS
2. Flash no-encryption zip again
3. (optional) flash Magisk
4. Reboot

Dirty flashed over previous build, video plays properly and timestamp is right buuuut there still doesn't seem to be audio. Latest FW & Vendor ... Latest TWRP.
This is stressing me out, it's literally the only thing wrong. Everything else is amazing in this ROM.

May have to try a clean flash :(

I am wondering how to flash the newest vendor and firmware image, without MiFlash compatability. The ones in the links provided by the OP don't have the necessary scripts for it to work with MiFlash. I also did not find any online resource for these firmware and vendor images.

  1. How can I flash the vendor and firmware images without MiFlash?
  2. Where are these firmware images from? Where can I find the source for this newest version? I could only find really old firmware and vendor images.
Update:
I tried flashing the provided zip through TWRP, but I got the famous ERROR: 7 - E2001: Failed to update vendor image.

Update 2:
I mounted vendor and firmware partitions. I formatted data and wiped storage, etc. Nothing makes the error go away.

UPDATE - WaveOS v4.3 is here!
    WaveOS_surya-R-v4.3-20210419-1218-OFFICIAL

This build onwards, WaveOS includes the first fully Android 11 based, stable, custom source-built (OSS) vendor, based on the CAF tag LA.UM.9.1.r1-09100-SMxxx0.0 and using blobs from stock MIUI R V12.0.7.0 only where necessary (such as camera, audio, firmware). Say goodbye to bloated and old MIUI prebuilt vendors, say hello to inline OSS vendor built alongside the ROM and updated with every build!

This build also introduces and includes QuicksilveR, my custom kernel based on CAF's android 11 sources (LA.UM.9.1.r1-09200-SMxxx0.0), optimized for performance and battery backup and with features such as KCAL and wireguard!

Since this build ships with Android 11 OSS vendor and kernel, Android 11 firmware is mandatory. Do not flash any vendor zip. Android 10 based custom kernels are not supported. Read the instructions carefully.

Hi! I want to try this rom, but I have a doubt, it's mandatory to flash encryption disabler if I format data (coming from miui)? Format data doesn't remove device's encryption? Thanks!
flash encryption disabler only if you want your device to stay decrypted after reboot, without it will be automatically re-encryped

Thanks for your response, another question: which are the advantages of encryption?
    Thanks!
my internal storage is decrypted, because I don't see any advantages of encryption on my phone, I don't need it and don't want it but if you really want to know, Googel is your friend, ask him...

Does anyone know how to flash WaveOS 4.1. I cannot get it to flash with correct firmware from either internal or SD storage?

    What am I missing guys?
Try to reflash recovery version oh the latest MIUI 12.0.8 before you flash WaveOS...
