Works fine for me. I am on 2.9.7. Why don't you try updating to latest release and see how it goes?

So, to ask a noob question, can I flash this over my existing stock/rooted ics rom?

you have to flash a safe kernel before the rom. Flash the hydra kernel and then flash the rom. The correct procedure is explained at the top of the thread.

I'm on the same version as you are, flashed it from stock LRK version, updated to hydra kernel via odin thrn followed the exact steps the OP described. Should i do a rewipe maybe? any advices?

The OTA updates can be flashed through System Update.

Okay. So Id love MIUI on my Note. Am I right in thinking the Note is not yet officially supported by MIUI.com ? These leaks are the only way to get pure official MIUI designed specifically for the Note ? The roms available on the Note forums are just ports from other phone's official MIUI releases ?

So is it best to wait for official MIUI.com Note release ?

Cant flash the rom from stock german 4.0.4 LRQ with hydracore 4.1, when i try to flash it in recovry i get an error saying the package cannot be opened. Tried to download the rom several time but still got this issue.

If I'm not wrong this rom is from official MIUI based in China. They have already completed the rom few weeks back and have only release to their closed beta test team. They have yet to release to public due to Samsung emmc problematic kernals and they will not use CM kernals as both teams had issues on the CM kernals before. In my opinion its safe to flash this and to flash a safe kernal right after!

However MIUI seems to be a bit tough on the battery sigh

The leak is safe enough if you follow the instructions on using a safe kernel to wipe and flash.
Official MIUI for ICS may never be available, hence the leaks. You may have to wait for the JB to release for the GN with an associated safe kernel before you get an official MIUI launch.

You can't download from Market if you don't have Market installed That's why you flash Gapps. I don't know if this ROM includes Market by default (haven't tested it yet) ....but if it does, than yes, you can get them from Market (Google Play)
