Dang you were right - settings can't be locked.

Jaguar issues with Settings app lock
Quick settings & Recents still gives access

Havoc (Paranoid)
No settings lock but it is possible to create a bit of a workaround by hiding all access to settings other than through a locked launcher. You must remember to clear settings from recents though.

Neither is ideal but for me System level is better as all apps that can be locked are protected everywhere not just the launcher.

Why can't settings be app locked anyway?
I think the point is: there is no need to separately protect Settings.apk, because on a locked phone, everything is already protected. If you give your phone to someone else to use, you can switch to 'guest' account. If Settings is locked and something goes wrong, your phone won't have options. Plus, it is quite inconvenient to have Settings locked for your own general use.

Anyway, the next release will have both Launcher and Applocker. Plus the little settings button in QS will be removed. So, if Settings is locked in Launcher, you wouldn't be able to acces it in QS.

Will there be an option to retain the little settings button in quick settings?

Brilliant can't ask you to do more than that thanks.

BTW i guess I'm trying to protect the scenario where you leave phone unattended with screen on.

I greatfully await the new build before installing and setting up your ROM again.

The button won't be there, but the space will remain clickable. Removing the implementation completely results in a bootloop, as there are about 20 other implementations that rely on it. To have a toggle option would be a grand headache requiring many changes, which I won't do.

If you give your phone to a third person to use, they would have no reason to click on an empty space.

P.S. If you think there are roms with a toggle for showing settings icon in QS , which I doubt, link them.

If you leave your phone unattended, you can set it to lock in 15 or 30 seconds.

All right. It turns out the implementation of a toggle to turn off QS footer icons (settings and running services) is easier than I thought. So, tomorrow I will post a new release that'll have Applocker and the toggle to switch off QS icons.

I mistakenly answered to another user, but again, if you think there are roms that have a toggle for removing the little settings icon in QS, link them.
Havoc see image.
In fact all qs footer items have switches.

Great - thanks again

@optimumpro

What is this undefined permission? Says it isn't allowed in any apps yet as you can see it is allowed in system. Also in apps like browsers.

Google would point to it being related to android.permission.ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION

I'm running without Gapps btw.

Any ideas?

This is probably related to Quallcom's FusedLocation. It's a proprietary app and without it GPS won't work.

Is Android System only app that uses this permission? On my phone every app has this enabled, when disabled, there is no data for that app, so it has to be enabled. I do not know.
Most apps yes except a few that haven't requested anything.

All right. Undefined permission group is 'Google privacy toolkit". It provides a minimum 'privacy' access to apps, which request it, and most do. The group includes access to Contacts, Phone log, SMS, Location, Calendar, Recording Audio and a few others. If an app is designed not to work without those permission, it will crash.

That's all. Hail Google!

    Hi there!

Having a bootloop trying to update to latest rel.

Does it has new 10.3.10 as oos base?

    I'm following those steps:

    -reboot recovery
    -flash rom
    -flash recovery
    -flash magisk
    -reboot recovery
    -flash magisk
    -reboot system
    -loop

Any advice here? Anyone else with same issue?

    Thanks!
    Flash ROM.

No: This is not a GSI build; Prior releases had no boot issues; and the latest V-8 release boots fine on Oneplus 6.

Could anyone, who was able to boot V8 on Oneplus 6T confirm the same?
I will confirm there on no boot issues with the 6t. Just installed with no issue.

Fingerprint enrollment now is fully working.

This is official build of Jaguar Rom.

I have been building Android roms since 2012 for various devices including multiple Sonys, Lenovo Zuk, Oneplus 3, Oneplus 5 and Oneplus 6 (my current device). You can check the Oneplus 5 development thread here:
Oneplus 5 thread or Oneplus 3 or Oneplus 6 thread here or browse my profile.

Jaguar rom is focused on hardening of AndroidOS and kernel. As such, the rom has hardened bionic, art, framework and tightened security. Kernel has security features ported from linux kernel 4.14.

The rom could be used on locked bootloader with no warning screen whatsoever, and with or without Magisk (your choice). It boots like OOS: Android logo and Boot animation. If you want locked bootloader, contact me privately.

Otherwise, and in addition to hardening, the rom has all standard+ features that come with custom roms:

1 Rom control with custom Power options, Statusbar, Buttons, Navbar, Quicksettings, Lockscreen, Notifications, Gestures, Themes etc. .

    2. Heavily modified Art, Bionic System/Vold and System/Security

    3. Telephony response to Type Zero sms ('silently acknowledged') disabled

    4. Toggle to disable Captive Portal logging.

    5. Speakerphone proximity sensor toggle - could be set to automatically switch to speaker when not at the ear

    6. IMEI and phone numbers hidden in About menu

    7. Call recording button visible in Dialer and working for all

    8. Vanadium Trichrome Webview and Chromium browser

    9. All regular customizations with the latest addition of Battery Defender, as well as Aggressive, Extreme battery saving and Smart charging

    10. Customized Launcher 3 has extra grid options: 6x7 and 5x8 + an option to change icon size globally

    11. Verizon CDMA support

The rom requires the latest OOS vendor in both slots!

    Instructions for Unlocked Bootloader

    1. If you are encrypted on Android Q or lower, you must do a factory reset in TWRP, the option, where you enter 'Yes' to confirm. Otherwise, just wipe data partition.

    2. Reboot into TWRP (after factory reset), transfer Jaguar, TWRP installer and Magisk to internal SD

    3. Flash the rom. Don't reboot!

    4. Flash TWRP official latest installer (not the raw TWRP image). Reboot once. After that do optional flashing such as GAPPS and Magisk

Keep in mind, the rom has a per app sensor access, which by default is set to 'deny all'. So, if any of your favorite spying apps F/C on first use, go to Settings and enable sensor access for those apps.
