Hi, did you try out the App OpenCamera ?
It is available on the Play Store.
I should be possible to get the most out of the Camera besides Stock OxygenOS Camera App.

Maybe after some time the Stock OxygenOS Camera app works on custom Roms but i'm not sure about that...

EDIT: For a simple approach us Google Camera, it comes with the Rom.

Hey thnx for that cool App, i like it.

But also this App Says Max is 12MP, so i think its a wrong driver or Kernel Issue.

In the System Info there says also 12MP.

The App is not the Problem i see ;)

Please fix that than i can come Back to your ROM.

Thnx

If you use OpenCamera Activate "CameraAPI2"
Take Pictures to compare CameraQuality.
there should be little to no Difference in Quality.

Hmm now I installed back Stock ROM and in the system info also display 12MP..... 😬 So the drivers are correct.

I see in the OnePlus App use Zoom 0.6. for widescreen I love that feature. But I can't find it on other app like opencamera. I Google about that... No help.

Is there a way for the widescreen feature like in the OnePlus app?

Thnx Carsten

Thnx, now i see what happens here!

I take a little time to understand what they mean with 0.6...

The Oneplus says 0.6 is 4096 × 1840 on 7,5MP
I found simular on the other Apps.

But a little thing is in my opinion the Quality is not so good as the Stock App . :(

Damn i hate closed source...

Thnx for helping me to understand!! Alex1911 and krsambhav

Device Info: OnePlus 9 Pro
Bootloader: Locked

A noob question for the zillionth time.

I don't want to brick my device thus asking the question, I am sure you get hundreds of such messages daily.

I am currently not rooted, bootloader is not unlocked and running the stock OS which came with the phone.

I want to install Evolution rom, do I have to unlock the bootloader to flash this rom or can it be done by following the simple steps mentioned under "How to Clean Flash"?

Just to make sure I have the right files, can someone guide me to the right files required, please?

Hello !

If you want to modify anything like Recovery, system or kernel on your phone, you need tu unlock the bootloader, root is not really necessary for only a Custom Rom and a Recovery.

I would recommend to unlock bootlader, root and flash TeamWin-Recovery and use Evolution Rom, works so far pretty good besides some kernerl panics after longer "System on times".
If you have further Question i will try to answer them and guide you through.

Disclaimer: Any modification you do on your device is, as always, is very risky. It could be possible that you potenially soft brick(fixable) or worse hard-brick(mostly unfixable) your device and encounter Problems they are in the worst case un-fixable with little to know knowledge.

Thanks a lot Alex for the assistance, appreciate it really.

If it's not too hard, can you please highlight the files I would need in place? For unlocking the bootloader, ROM files and TWRP.

This would be of great help. I know I am asking for too much, but just want to be safe than being sorry later.

Okay now I am stuck. Successfully unlocked the bootloader and phone is rooted.

Followed the below steps as per OP:

3. fastboot flash boot RECOVERY.img (lineage-18.1-20210817-recovery-lemonadep)
4. Reboot to recovery (Didn't know the command to reboot into recovery using adb so shut my phone down. It went in bootloop. Had to shut it down, went into bootloader and then to recovery. Copied the evolution_lemonadep-ota-rq3a.210905.001-09081615-unsigned.zip file to the adb folder and renamed it to build.zip. Tried giving the below "adb sideload build.zip. Below is the error
C:\adb>adb sideload build.zip
loading: 'build.zip'
* cannot read 'build.zip' *

5. adb sideload BUILD.zip
6. Format data
7. Reboot to system & #KeepEvolving

Can someone help me here?

UPDATE:
After several attempts of trying to reboot the device from the booting animation screen, the phone somehow booted and came to the system screen. Unknowingly, i restarted it again. Its back to oneplus booting animation again.

I am able to shut the phone down and go to bootloader, anything I can do here? And the phone is able to come back again, any way for me to flash the Evolution rom?

Hello.

Info: before you start be sure to have the Latest OSS Firmware downloaded, in case something goes wrong -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-9-pro-rom-ota-oxygen-os-repo-of-oxygen-os-builds.4254587/

1. Download this TWRP-recovery
-> https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-11-unofficial-teamwin-recovery-project.4294289/
there should be only 1 File right were the download link points. Download the file.
Save on your desktop and create a Folder Like "OP9P" or "OnePlus 9 Pro" or your Phone-Model-Name. Put all phone related files in there for now.

2. (IF you have Win10) Open Windows Power Shell where your adb.exe File remains
(When you are there keep "Left-Shift" pressed and right-click)
Connect your Phone directly on your Mainboard, normal USB-Typ A or USB Typ C if you have a port for it on your pc, on Laptops it should be on the sides somewhere.

3. In PowerShell type now "cmd" Press Enter
after that type in "adb devices", one device should show up (should be your phone)
type "adb reboot fastboot" wait till fastboot shows up.
Copy the Recovery .img file in the Folder where you have your adb.exe (Fastboot.exe should be there also)

Type "Fastboot boot "recovery-filename".img -> resambles the file name. (bes ure

It should write "sending boot...."

after that TWRP will boot up -> this is not permament for now

In TWRP go to advanced -> Flash Current Recovery

After it finishes, go back to the main Menu. Press Reboot -> reboot recovery

If you get in TWRP after reboot everything worked so far.
additional Info: OnePlus 9 Pro has something called A/B partitioning
We flashed it only on A or B but for know it should work so far.

ALL Above this is pretty much the same procedure for every OTA-Update, flashing another rom etc.
Keep in mind, knowledge is power, if you install something and need your device on a daily basis, make sure do everything right, have backups and a Plan-B.

ROM Installion

1. Download rom and copy it to your phone.
If you cannot copy anything to youre phone, do it via adb.
Type "cmd"
Adb devices
adb Push "rom-file.zip" /sdcard
after it finishes without error it should be on your phone

2. reboot to TWRP wipe Dalvik/Cache And only Data for now

3. Install Rom -> Install select it where you have or will put in on your phone

4. go to TWRP Main Menu Advanced -> Install Current Recovery

5. Reboot System (warning NO OS installed can normaly be ignored)

6. Wait till boot up of the System.

6a. if your device bootloops (takes endlessly to start, normally it should take about 5 min)

reboot to TWRP again ( better you do it via Fastboot) Force turnoff your phone and before it starts press Volume Up AND Down + Power Button continously. If you see the logo with fastboot written under the logo let go. switch with volume up and down to "Reboot Recovery"
Press Power Button to confirm.
At This Point what you probably forgot is to wipe Data (You will lose your Data on our phone). This can Sometimes result even in a successful boot up but everthing seems buggy and crashing all the Time.

Long Story short:
wipe Dalvik/Cache
Install Rom
Reinstall TWRP
Reboot system
Check if core Functions also work like mobile Data, Bluetooth, Wlan, taking/Making Calls, sending/ receiving SMS

Always Remeber: Knowledge is Power, the more you know about your device and it's possibilitis the more you can do if something goes wrong.

I will get back to you if you encounterd more issues.

Edit: if you need more help with setting things up, i will guide you through but PM me.
This Kind of "Post's" don't belong exactly here.

Hello !
i have encounterd a few issues on September build, which resulted in sometimes Kernel Panic after a few days constant system on time.
On the latest October build, no Kernel Panics so far. About the Bluetooth problem, i'm not sure where the Problem really comes from (car-wise or phone-wise, both got updated lately).
When i'm in the car and connect my phone via bluetooth it doesn't work,
only connects but no media playing on the car speakers.
The only which changes is Phone-Media-Volume goes on max volume and is not regulateable anymore till i disconnect and the Prtoblem subsides.
Reconnecting and removing the device from bluetooth on Phone doesn't work normally, seems unresponsive and somehow buggy but till now only on that specific devices. -> will try to reproduce and pull logs.

The above mentioned was non existend on September build and worked flawlessly besides that random Kernel Panics.

If you wish, i would constantly pull logs and provide them to you,
also if i encounter any Problems and name the logs accordingly.

    Hello!

Since you have been able to test this rom, I have several questions to ask you:

    1. How much screen on time per charge used to have with the stock rom and how much do you have with this one?
    2. Have you been able to use Gpay?
    3. Is there any difference in the quality of audio or video (as in the stock rom I see several settings (intense color effect, smoothing graphics, ultra-high video resolution, Dolby Atmos .. etc), I don't know if this rom has.
    4. Do you use a Gcam as a camera application? What differences have you noticed with respect to the stock?

Sorry to throw so many questions, but I'm trying to gather as much information as possible before install this rom.

    Thank you in advance!!
    1. I am typically getting 4 1/2 to 5 hours screen time for 50 percent battery. Last night I put on the charger at about 27 percent and I had 7 1/2 hours with a total time off charger of approximately 36 hours. On oos I had maybe 5 to 6 hours screen time and 19 hours on a single charge.
    2. Don't use it.
    3. The audio sounds better and more crisp imo and the graphics look just as good as oos.

    4. I do use gcam and it's pretty close to oos camera in my opinion.

i highly recommend this rom if you're looking to flash something stable, fast, and smooth as hell with absolutely amazing battery life compared to oos.
