Last time I had tried EvoX on my 8Pro on Verizon which initially everything was perfect, but then 2 days later wasn't able to receive text messages at all until I moved back to OOS.

Has anyone ran into this before? Or better is there anyone rn using EvoX on their 8Pro/Verizon that can confirm everything is working fine?
Sorry that this is like a month old, but found your post when searching for "Verizon" and figured I'd answer.

I'm using Visible, an MVNO of Verizon and everything seems to be working ok. Visible had access to 5G on stock, I haven't seen this connect to 5G at all, so I presume that's an issue. But 5G in my area is basically worse than LTE+ so whatever. My "Hey Google" doesn't work, what I've learned seems to be a hit or miss common issue with custom roms, so I chalked it up in the "meh" category with 5G.

Mobile data didn't appear to be working at first, but a reboot seemed to bring it online. Had an issue where I got stuck on "Pixel is Starting" after setup and a reboot and had no idea why. I think it might have something to do with me "restoring all" on my backups and it might have restored a system app that it shouldn't have? I only restored user apps the second go around and everything has been great since.

This might depends on the version of your phone. For example, the KB2000 Oneplus 8T can only use 5G by T-Mobile in the US.

I think i have found a workaround for my hot reboot problem while starting/answering a call:

I switched my SIM for calling to the second SIM slot. My Data SIM is now in Slot 1.

Til now I didn't get a hot reboot while starting or answering a call. Very weird 😅

Oh lovely. Perhaps one was seen as a primary and the handover forces a reboot?

Well done. Lol

I've been noticing this for a long time now, since I believed we moved from the earlier versions of OOS, (1.1/2.2 ) not entirely sure which iteration made it worse but the latest version is the worst yet, for me at least.

I'm on a clean build, no restored software (swift titanium) and no intrusive apps like Facebook, Snapchat, twitter, Google history off.

I'm pretty good at optimising my devices during 2.2 and prior to it, I was getting 9-10 and a half hours SOT over 2 days, now I can barely obtain 6-7 hours.

Has anything changed with OOS or Evo?

Is anyone noticing a similar trend? It's quite disheartening to witness, knowing that this phone is capable of so much more.

Location is seemingly triggered way more often, I've restricted almost every app I can see that wouldn't have an adverse effect on usage or functionality, but this hasn't made anything any better.

Also cleaned up what Google can track and collect to a minimum, also reinstalled all Google play services, but again no change..

Kernel is what came with Evo, have lowered the max by 100Mhz on each cluster plus lowered the min on the small to 300 which historically has made a huge difference and allowed long periods of dormancy.

ZRAM off, which helped with performance not affecting stamina..

I'm stumped.

Anyone else experiencing this compared to prior versions of OOS?

To be clear this is prevalent on OOS and Evo.

I don't know but it was definitely the fix! Calling is working great now😀👍

I have great SOT after every fresh install, regardless of whether OOS or Evo-X. But it seems to me, that it gets worse after a few days of usage and keeps getting worse the following weeks. Although I use Naptime, gms-doze module and play around with battery optimization and other settings for battery etc

Ive never bothered with GMS or Naptime, I have no battery monitoring software, just Franco KM, for me it starts off bad then settles, after a few days it's spot on.

Just hasn't been the case recently.

I'm relatively new to this phone & rom but I have noticed the location symbol as being active at times and wondering why. I'll try and monitor a little more closely.
It's super annoying . I've had android since the g1 and it's never been this intrusive..

My money's on Google...as I've tested duck duck go which is awesome but you can't use that as the native browser when using the Google feed feature in lawn chair, it always opts for chrome.. I've deactivated the native internal browser for Google so chrome is the only option. Shame really as duck duck go doesn't have such issues.

Sorry for not answering your question. But is there a compatible TWRP on A11? I thought it's still under maintenance. Because on the TWRP site, in the latest builds changelog (3.5.2) they didn't mention A11 if I remember correctly

    @Jonas2802

    Here you go mate.

This was based on OOS but a lot of them should be sufficient for any OS.

    Change 5G to 4G
    Remove Facebook use web based
Remove Facebook messenger use web based
    Remove Twitter use web based
Remove any ad based apps pay for the pro version
Turn off gestures like lift to wake
Change from QHD to FHD (No difference)
    Allow auto brightness
    Turn off WiFi overnight
Turn all updates to manual not auto (play store)
Remove any so you don't use
Change back up to once a month (WhatsApp)
    Turn off location history (Google)
Use titanium to remove any system apps you don't need
Don't allow anonymous usage statistics for any app ever.
Don't allow tracking cookies on any website
    Use adaway (root needed)
Don't open web pages in Google app (I use Samsung browser)
    Don't use xposed.
If you game you will not get high SOT scores, period.
Don't bother with battery saving apps or monitoring apps.
Streamline your apps, if you don't use it, remove it.
Don't allow WiFi scanning (as in letting other apps use it when it's not on)
    Never allow personalised ads.
    Never allow notifications from websites
Always decline cookies unless your absolutely have to allow some tracking (common sense prevails here)
Optimise as many apps as possible unless it affects performance.
Don't allow apps to remain open in the notification area.
Change your launcher, my preferred launcher is lawn chair and this did actually burn up some battery when compared to the OnePlus launcher.
Don't use live widgets (yes they look cool, but they annihilate your battery)
Live wallpaper, again very cool, but battery burners.
Again! Don't charge overnight, make a note of your percentage then see what it is in the morning, you shouldn't be losing more than 5% really, if you've done well then it'll be reflected here, the good SOT results will follow.
Turn off live read outs of network speed, RAM usage in the status bar.
Turn off NFC unless in use.
Leave location on in quick settings, the benefits do not outweigh the problems you'll have.

Don't overcharge your phone, IE: overnight
Don't allow your phone to fully deplete the battery.

Whatever anyone says, this does 100% damage batteries, there is no argument here and I won't entertain anyone who says otherwise, Ive seen through real life tests what this results in, bloated, inefficient, possibly dangerous lithium batteries.

Keep your phone out the sun.
Keep it out of extreme cold.
Keep your device clean dust free.

Snapchat, Viber, house party, apps like that tends to use more battery as they don't have great dormancy periods.

Apps like speed test by Ookla tend to have location tracking, similarly they tend to turn themselves on and off when they feel like it, my advice, install test and uninstall.

Allow a couple of battery cycles between tweaking sets, to give you an idea of how much of a difference you've made, takes time but it's worth it.

Use a battery monitoring tool to see what is being used, once you've removed problems, remove it as this will also use battery.

I've just written this from the top of my head so o probably missed some things, the general idea is to keep your device clean and fresh, remove files you don't need any more.

Keep an eye on apps that misbehave or aren't wanted, index your folders so they aren't a mess.

The more good things you do means the more potentially bad apps you can have on your phone, eg if you really need Facebook, you could keep it so long as you clean up other areas of your phone.

    Good luck.

Might be a silly question, but since we got twrp working, would it be posible to do a full wipe (system & data etc) and install evo x bare-boned? Or should i format system & data, fresh install latest oos, then install evo x on top?
Should work mate. It's still quite new so confirm first
    3
Could anybody write a little guide to clean flash this with twrp? Never flashed a rom on this device with twrp before 😅
I think once theres a new update for oxygen OS I will do just that mate.
    3
That would be great, thank you 😊
Do you plan to switch to OOS? Or do you want to have the newest underlaying OOS before flashing Evo-X?

I wonder if we still need a underlaying OOS firmware or if we can wipe all partitions (including super/system) before flashing Evo-X 🤔
At this point I've done about 3 dirty updates via system update. So I'd be heading for a clean install anyway.

I have no emulators set up and thanks to @AnierinB Google photos is unlimited, so I don't have a risk really.

I'd always stick with the latest firmware as it could potentially affect more than just the OS iirc it was a requirement in the past for custom ROMs or issues could ensue.

I'd be updating, nuking the OS then going Evo X via twrp..I'll defo make a guide, step by step, hopefully itll cover more than just Evo so others can use it.

Right now Evo had me coveted, I have about 2-3 issues but not deal breakers. Battery also could definitely be improved.

Overall though its a stellar ROM.

    Here's the thread.

I imagine a new thread will be created at some point.

James cable listed the new twrp a few pages from the back.

You can boot it or flash to recovery.
