How about battery draining when not using phone (idle) ?

Hey bro, I meet the same problem, maybe you use the SP Flash Tool in zip from the article.
Try to redownload SP Flash tool from official site and use it, I success to flash the lastest MIUI global rom after using the redownload SP Tool.

Is there really no other solution than having to reset your device every time you update it? That sounds really inconvenient :/

the Global Miui link in the Changelog is the very one I used before flashing 0824, which also solved the bootloop.
When I saw the Global Miui is the same I USED JUST Before this update, I thought I'm good.
Well...lesson truely learned, now forget the Download Mode, the screen wont even lit up

It does, it detects when the device can be used even if the screen is black and then you can flash. It took me a couple of times to get past this soft brick. In the end I used this one that I think it is similar:

would you say its worth updating to this rom as a daily driver? i just used my old redmi note 5 pro with pe and man its so much better than miui, i completely forgot what i was missing lol. from what i have read, front camera is finally working but the back camera now only has 16mp, and the camera usually is very good... i would not like missing out on the good camera. so would you still wait a bit until updating?

Yes, I recommend it. With root or not, depending on your needs. For proper camera download Gcamator from Play Store and run it. It will search and install the best GCam for your setup.

awesome, thanks for the reply. so ill get more than the 16mp simply by using another camera app? is only the native app not working?
do i need to take precautions bc of anti rollback (i think it was anti rollback?!)? i remember i had to do some specific steps last time i installed pe on this phone.. or has it become really this simple since miui 12.5? thanks in advance!

Big Big thx for this video. In description there are good links, and the video is really easy to understand. The only thing missing is the way to indicate 'path' for python. Need an other vid to do that.
