How i did it was.
- Use the msm tool to revert back to stock rom.
- Then update to the lastest OOS via the system updater.
- Unlock Bootloader and then the rest of the process is similar to the Lineage installation and no need to flash GAPPS since they're in the Rom.

The 25 Dec build has some issues at least for me tho. The CrDroid kernel increased the battery drain significantly on my device.

Made the grave mistake of updating via OTA while on root a couple of days ago. Just checked and confirmed with Root Checker, my phone's no longer rooted

Any idea what I could do to get root back?

Folloe the same procedure for root again and in magisk allow retention script.

Thank you!! I redid the initial procedure, everything turned out just fine.
But what do you mean by 'retention script'? Apologies, I'm fairly novice to rooting

It's in magisk apk to keep root after update. You can find that in oneplus 6 guide page.

The 23 and 25 Dec builds have this issue. If you can find a older version of PE it won't happen.

Well then i will install SyberiaOS, my phone has never been reset since i bought it, and it is slow and buggy nowdays so i need a clean install

I tried Syberia and it's also buggy. Install HavocOS it's the best option for OnePlus 6.
