Error 7

About error 7, I was able to flash it but I had to modify a script as explained on a forum about lineage.
I just removed every "assert" lines in the beginning of the file META-INF > com > google > android > updater-script inside the zip file and it worked. It was as if it did not recognize the Redmi Note 7. The update was a success after this patch.

But I'm not able to pair my Sony WX1000XM4.

Well the pairing process seems to work fine but once it is done I got a frozen screen, then a hard reboot.
After boot it goes in freeze again 5 sec after making the bluetooth connection to the device.

Any ideas ? Should I tweak my bluetooth config in developers settings ?
Does anyone knows how can I see bluetooth logs ?

Bluetooth pairing seems to work fine with older devices, may be a codec / version error ?

Hi! I’m still on 02/2020. I want to update now. Still the problem with the decryption. So i have to format data and flash the new one.
Is there any new information? Do you recomend to flash a new original MIUI system first to update everything with it? What about a new OrangeFox ?

To install pe11 you have to downgrade firmware to v11 if you had installed v12. Also flashing magisk v21.1 makes phone stuck in fastboot

    the batterydrain is just insane.
i gave up on this one and went with the the official lineage os nightly and mindthegapps.

works perfectly fine no more batterydrain

Here is a guide from TheByteBoy, modified and translated by me, and it works!
How to prevent Pixel Experience eating up all your mobile data becouse of System Updates.
Unfortunately it does not prevent batterydrain, constantly trying to download.
I have enabled battery saving mode, which works for me.
Setting usb permission on your smartphone.
Settings, System, Telephoneinfo, Buildnumber, Click multiple times until message: "You are developer".
    Settings, System, Developeroptions, enable USB-debugging.
Connect usb cable between smartphone and pc, enable filetransfer.
    Open commandprompt as Administrator (C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe).
Go to your folder containing platform-tools_r31.0.0-windows
You can download it from https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
In my case, type the following lines, followed by Enter:
    C:
    CD "C:\platform-tools"
    adb devices
    Should give message ZY5347TWED device.
    adb pull /system/etc/hosts "C:\Users\Public\Desktop\hosts.txt"
The hosts file is copied from phone to pc desktop.
Edit hosts file using notepad and add two following lines and save the host file.
    127.0.0.1 ota.googlezip.net
    127.0.0.1 ota-cache.googlezip.net
adb root (restarting adbd as root)
    adb remount (remount succeeded)
    adb push "C:\Users\Public\Desktop\hosts.txt" /system/etc/hosts
The changed host file will be copied from pc desktop to phone.
To check if you have success, open Google Chrome and go to ota.googlezip.net
You should get a message "This site is unavailable".
You should not get a Google logo with "404. That's an error".

    Hi guys.

Some process is using my data, supposedly as system updates

I've all updates configured to WiFi only.

As I have detected, is a daily process, not something specific from one day.

    ¿Any ideas?

If your device is rooted ,then find updater app in /system/.. somewhere else Maybe in private apps,or product apps, delete/disable it by using some root app control !

    Data Usage Problem
As Mentioned by henrycard the System Updates use mobile data a lot. It has killed my whole monthly quota in about 3-4 Days (3 GB limit.)
    WhatsApp Image 2021-11-13 at 15.06.13.jpeg

(In the Screenshot it says 2,15 GB but it is definitely more.)

    Battery Problem
Maybe it`s the Updater that is eating up the battery that fast because in the settings it says Android-System is using the most of it. But since a few days, my phone is empty within a few hours.

(Losing an average of 10% per Hour in Standby.)

    Update
    Well, I just noticed this:
    firefox_e3GouVuTgL.png

I don´t think this is going to be fixed soon.

    Update 2
There is an open issue on Github: https://github.com/PixelExperience/android-issues/issues/1004

    Update
    All Methodes below don´t work.

    Data Usage Fix

    Methode 1 (Not Working)

    1. Boot to Orfox
    2. Mount "System"
    3. Copy "/system/etc/hosts" to "/sdcard"
    4. Copy "hosts" File to PC
    5. Add the following lines
    127.0.0.1 download.pixelexperience.org 127.0.0.1 pixelexperience.org
    6. Copy "hosts" File back to the Phone
    7. Select "hosts" File in "/sdcard"
    8. Go to "/system/etc" and paste the File
    9. Reboot the Phone to System
    10. Open your Browser and go to "download.pixelexperience.org"
It should not open any page
    11. Go to Settings/System Updates
    The Update Search should Fail!

(If there is a new Maintainer then do the same but remove the added lines.)

(I am going to Update this Post if it fixed the problem.)

    Methode 2 (Not Working)
    1. Connect your Phone to a PC
    2. Run with ADB: adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 org.pixelexperience.ota

    Methode 3 (Not Working)
    1. Boot to Orfox
    2. Mount "System"
    3. Rename "/system/priv-app/Updates/Update.apk" to "Update.apk.bak"

    Methode 4 (Not tested)
    1. Connect your Phone to a PC
    2. Run with ADB: adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.gms

    Hello,
It seems like a lot of people has problem withe the current State of PE.
But as usual no one comes up with proper logcat or any kind of way to support it.
All I see is same thing i mentioned even in #2 of this thread .
Other than that, all sorts of disrespectful comments.

Some guy post missing features as bugs .Then another guy say ROM is crap. To begin with you both type of guys should know that this is a custom ROM and it has both its upsides and downsides.
Now to those who are comparing with previous maintainer of PE with me , to those , everything has hacks. Every lil bug there is can be fixed instantly with some kind of hacks. But that doesn't mean it has to be fixed right away without
further researching on it. because that means ,it is only a way to fix it so that user's don't complain and what I'm looking for is a long term fix.Not some fix that will fix for now and will be dead in future. But seeing some people making fun out of a project which someone is really working hard on is really demotivating.

I'm not gonna say i can fix all bugs. But I am definitely trying to keep it clean as much as possible as this is my only device and i use this rom for my daily needs . So , i'd care for it as much as anyone here would. But that doesn't mean anyone will say anything about it without even reading the roms features and bugs list which is utterly not acceptable.

and those who are concerned why am i replaced with previous maintainer ? Why not even ask the PE developers about it rather than hearing from the previous maintainer? Hope this post makes things clear.

    Regards

Notes : For this build i'll suggest to make clean flash . A lot of things have been changed .
But dirty flash is a optional which you can do always. In any case if its causing issues , Clear data of that specific app.
Incase some livewallpaper is lagging , it is due to hardware limitations.
