NTFS formatted? There's an app to support NTFS. Can't remember the name rn.
The memory card was formatted from the XZ2 H8216 smartphone and was formatted by Android to exfat and a loop is created in this way because it constantly asks for the format even when it is allowed. On Windows 11 I formatted to NTFS and Exfat and further asks you to format the memory card. The only option that works is to use the memory card as built-in memory. As external memory, it asks to be formatted.

exFAT should work out of the box. NTFS however will not without the mentioned additional app. I can check if I can reproduce the exFAT problem after 19.1 bringup.

ROM is awesome. Got my XZ2 H8296 back from my son after 2 years, i gave him a Pixel 6 for Xmas last year.

I played around with the XZ2 and noticed it did not pass Safetynet check, no matter with or without root access. Of course Magisk can do this job for you, but for those who not want a rooted phone there's no solution. All my phones can pass Safetynet, with or without cfw, so i looked for an alternive way. Found an interesting addon, developed from some LOS devs, anyways, it's not official supported by the LOS team. Link and credits for interested users:

I made a ( personally ) flashable zip for me, want to share it. Edited the config for our XZ2 to match the fingerprint and proper security patch date from last official Stock ROM.

It can't bei flashed trough the LOS Recovery, dunno why, i'm not that expert, only advanced user.

Flash with TWRP.

INSTRUCTIONS:

* Enable USB debugging of course
* Copy zip to your internal SD ( optional )
* Reboot to bootloader
* Temporary boot into TWRP
( fastboot boot YOURTWRP.img )
* Mount system manually
* Flash the zip
* Reboot

Now you don't need Magisk modules anymore, the addon survives OTA, if needed Magisk can be installed, it's your choice. Remember, the ih8sn addon does NOT hide root, it only makes the Safetynet Check possible. To hide Magisk prior than v23.0 you have to Install other modules, search and you will find. ;)

Last note for devs and maintainers of this wonderfull ROM, i had some probs with permissions, i specified 2 permissions in updater-script, maybe you can have a look into it, don't wanna break other things in the ROM because some lack of knowledge.

Flash at your own risk.

I write a tut from zero today evening in " Guides " section. Wrong place here in this thread to explain things that are not ROM-related. Anyways, it's really easy.

I thought that I know my stuff, but I see that I have to keep learning, thanks, my friend, I'll be overwhelmed with time. Regards

I have to check why I have a fingerprint from h8296 because it may be that I accidentally uploaded another system before 18.1

Hi,

I've a general question. I am using a LinageOS ROM on my phone. Can somebody help me to check my flashed stock ROM version? I followed the installation guide a few years ago.

My reason to ask: VoLTE and WiFi-Call isn't working for me.

Best regards
Tim
VoLTE is in the making - just wait for it to get merged and shipped.

EDIT: Current solution is to flash latest stock rom, enable both and install LineageOS again if you don't want to wait. Hopefully next build or the build after will include the proprietary modemswitcher from sony.

That's because there's one build for all supported models and we can only set one fingerprint for that build - so we set the one for h8296.

Hello, i don't see anyone mentioning that auto-brightness doesn't work. With stock rom it was working, so it's not a hardware problem. is there something i could do or try?

    i tried twrp and los recovery while following exactly the steps of the official guide (including all the restarts) but just cant get gapps to work. They do install without error but after rebooting they are just not there. I couldn't find any answer online and tried several gapps. Could someone give me a hint?
    Did you rebooted after flashing LOS like it's described in the official install guide? It's an A/B device. I guess it got flashed onto the wrong slot.

    > Optionally): If you want to install any add-ons, click Advanced, then Reboot to Recovery, then when your device reboots, click Apply Update, then Apply from ADB, then adb sideload filename.zip those packages in sequence.

    Glad to tell everyone who are waiting for LineageOS 18.1.
    I uploaded the 20210515 build for Akari, but I don't have device to test.
    From the result on XZ3, everything works fine.
    Please test and feedback, if there is no bug, we will get official 18.1 support sson.

    So latest build is 18.0 from November?
    Seems a big pause in development.
    I will try building with the 18.1 sources on Lineage GitHub and see what happens.....

    Edit: Fixed the build errors but it wont boot and devs seem to have moved on.
    Back to 17.1 nightlies

    I don't have battery drain issue to begin with so can't tell the difference sadly, but yeah flashed and everything still works fine as before!
    Uploaded a new lineage-18.1-20210515-unofficial-akari.zip again.
    This removed 2 crashing prebuilt system Apps, enjoy.
